  1. That could work as I already use CRBN1 for the trike Or maybe CRBN2
  2. Walter was thinking ahead for sure. LOL Larry
  3. Sorry Brad but one Squid around here is more than enough. So your plate handle is safe. Larry
  4. Current temp is 104* according to my eletric temp gauge outside my garage. Inside it's 99*. Weather.com says 101* for this area. Next to nothing is getting done today with most of it spent inside with the ac running. I did build a new shelf along one wall in the garage for the extra goodies I'll pick up eventually from Denny for the 83. Probably do that when we get back from the NY rally. At least temps shopuld be coming down some later in the week. Sure hope so cause temps like these are rough trying to enjoying any riding. Larry
  5. :rotf::rotf::rotf:You're killing me Mike Larry
  6. That's a nice setup. What make is the car? Larry
  7. Yea hated them causing a racket when deer hunting. Little buggers don't know when to shut up. Larry
  8. Another of the great preformers gone from us but they still live on in our hearts and their recorded music. Rest in Peace, Ms. Kitty Larry
  9. Totally agree with you here Rick. I do think seat shape is the #1 concern as well as addressing any pressure points the rider is experiencing. Seats are such a subjective matter , much like oil & tires , that what works for one may not be for the next guy. I think you do do a good job on seat shaping and maybe when your next customer requests seat changes a little background info from them would be in order. Try to see just what they think they are looking for in a seat, softer, firmer, less pushing forward , etc. Even then you'll still be limited by the covers shape to some degree short of a total recovering. Like you say on correcting or redoing a seat the shipping both ways is a tough pill to swallow. You can take pride in knowing that the majority of the owners who have had you redo their seats have be totally happy. Larry
  10. Cowboy I think you'll love the RSV what with your experiences on the Wings & Harley. Plenty of power, really good seats compared to most bikes, plenty of room for you and the Mrs. and still have that cruiser look. Lots of storage room in the trunk and bags for those trips you like to take too. With the V-4 engine it runs almost as smooth as the Wings do at all speeds and rpms. The only real drawbacks are the fact that Yamaha has neglected to upgrade the bike over the years. ABS brakes, FI, better audios would be nice improvments to have. On the other side of the coin you can find parts very easly not that these bikes need much. It's not uncommon to see them with 100k on the odometer and more and still going strong. Another good plus is Yamaha's warranty at 5yrs and unlimited mileage. And do stick around here regrdless of brand you do decide on. Great bunch of people here. Larry
  11. Yea one of the great stories. LMAO everytime I read this one.:rotf: Larry
  12. Good for you solving your seating issue. So is the seat now thicker with more support or softer/firmer than stock seat was? Larry
  13. Boy after doing some reading and really looking at all the info on these 1st gens I can see it's going to take a while to wad thru and soak up all the info on these bikes. Good thing we have all of the 1st gens here to bail me out when needed. Oh yea when I do finally get it road worthy I thought of putting on antique or collector plates. But Michigan is too restrictive in when you can drive with those plates so I need to come up with a cool 5 letter /number personal plate name. Larry
  14. I'm with Snaggletooth here. My son has python of some sort and I've handle it but realy prefer them to be left alone. Personally I don't think anyone except certified game keepers should be allowed to own a poisious snake. Same goes for lions, tigers, bears, wolves, or any other poential man killers. Just my here. Larry
  15. Thanks Jay. Got the drawing thou so only a matter of cutting and welding up some steel. Larry
  16. Ya have good friends if they do that for you. Larry
  17. I'd say $125 plus shipping. And it'll be a bolt on operation but you will have to drill a couple holes in the frame above the differential. Larry
  18. Forwarded your Howdy Squidley. Yes they are enjoying their car. They just picked up a 08 hardtop convertable this weekend so will be selling the 03. Larry
  19. Maybe there was some lube inside the tire after mounting it and the beads sort of clumped together with it.. Another thought would be there was too much beads added for the tire to balance. I tried the beads in the rear tires of the trike using the recommended amount, forgeting just how much at this time, but had a severe imbalance at 70 +. I kept thinking I had a u-joint bad or driveshaft out of balance. Finally I broke the tires down and removed the beads. Had them high speed balanced and all was good after that. I also added the beads to the front tire and to date no problems whatever there. Just my experince thus far. Larry
  20. I just took out the foam Rick used and added in a higher density foam. I purchased a excerise matt from K-Mart. It's about 1/2" thick and gray in color. One side is smooth , the other side had small ridges. The reason I replaced Rick's foam was that for me it was too soft and felt that I was bottoming out in short time and then sitting the same as the stock seat. This has solved that problem for me now. Added it to the pillon for the Mrs. as well. Larry
  21. Yep that is a fact for sure. Was already picking his brain a bit when we were going over the bike before loading it on the trailer. Larry
  22. Today I picked up DenDen's 83 Standard. Some folks here know how well he took care of this bike. He wanted to part ways with the bike since he no longer rides so he made me a deal I couldn't refuse. There's some work to be done of course since it hasn't been on the road in about 4 years. maybe more, but that bike is sure in very good shape for a 29 year old. There's no broken plastic except for one tab on a side panel which should be easy to fix since the tab is there. Mechanically I'll need to fix a water leak somewhere below the radiator, rebuild the forks, & either rebuild the rear master cylinder or replace it, & replace a 8 year old battery. As far as I know at this point those are the things needing attention. Got a few extra parts he tossed in as well. I don't expect to put it on the road till spring so during the next few months & winter I'll be going over this bike bringing the old girl back to pristine condition once again. Larry
  23. Me? Well I did build a hitch for Ragtop69gs's trike. Let me check to see if I wrote down the plans I used to build his. Larry
  24. Yammer you been listening to Big Tom again?
  25. Parts book don't show one disassembled so no idea what it's put together like thou I have had the switch housing off in the past. Guess there's only one way to find out. Dive in. LOL Larry
