Now that's funny right there. LOL I've seen a few Harley's with the same problem, so its not just a Brit thing. I will say that I had a 68 BSA that didn't leak only cause I sealed the cases with gasket sealer along with the gaskets. Larry Wouldn't mind owning another one too as it was one of my favorites -- 650cc dual carbs Spite Fire with the fiberglass peanut tank painted red/white, chrome fenders. Last time I looked they too were going for well over what they cost back in the day.

They are fast bikes for sure. A buddy had a 850 back in the early 70's. Don't know what year his was but was clocked on radar doing 140mph. LEO couldn't believe it but wrote him up for 10 over anyhow. LOL I remember him having a lot of oil leaks too. Larry

Blue is the normal choice but be aware that you need to keep it away from the ABS plastic as it'll eat it up. Locktite does make a thread sealer for ABS applications. I don't know the number off hand so you'll need to look it up. Larry

Can't vouch for your 96 RS but I had one on a Suzuki Volusia and it made a world of difference in rider comfort. All day rides were possible with hundreds of miles clocked. Larry

OK I didn't know that 83-85's wouldn't interchange with 86 and later models. So I learned something today. Larry

OK Fuzzy those would definitely be classified as trikes. As Ragtop says CSC started out with sidecars and eventually got into the triking business, which is probably over 90% of their business today. The Hannigan Tri-Car is a whole different animal. Is it a side car or a trike? Most pics I've seen had trailers for side cars either hooked up to the bike in the normal manner but most were hooked up with the trailer tracking behind the bike & sidecar centered. A trailer hooked to a sidecar rig behind the bike itself makes for an even wider unit thus the reason for centering them. Trikes always are centered. I think even if the CSC outfit was make like Hannigan's Tri-Car it would still be centered. Most likely a custom built hitch assembly would be required in either case. Larry

I can't say which to avoid but as suggested check out triktalk.com. All makes and models are covered as to both trike manufactures and bikes themselves. In my experince with the Yamaha RSV trikes Tri-Wing and Hannigan are your only choices. Having had both I prefer the Hannigan due to smoother, more stable ride due to it being wider and lower with independent suspension opposed to Tri-Wings solid axle setup. On the Wings I've seen good reports about Roadsmith, CSC, Motor Trike, & Hannigan. I would suggest your friend do a lot of reading & researching of the various companies. Also the installer needs to be checked out as some are better than others. Larry
