  1. Now that's funny right there. LOL I've seen a few Harley's with the same problem, so its not just a Brit thing. I will say that I had a 68 BSA that didn't leak only cause I sealed the cases with gasket sealer along with the gaskets. Larry Wouldn't mind owning another one too as it was one of my favorites -- 650cc dual carbs Spite Fire with the fiberglass peanut tank painted red/white, chrome fenders. Last time I looked they too were going for well over what they cost back in the day.
  2. They are fast bikes for sure. A buddy had a 850 back in the early 70's. Don't know what year his was but was clocked on radar doing 140mph. LEO couldn't believe it but wrote him up for 10 over anyhow. LOL I remember him having a lot of oil leaks too. Larry
  3. Thanks for the post Jeff. I'm not paticulary impressed either but my son likes them and is intending to get one sometime this year. I'm telling him to test ride one first before plunking down some hard earned cash. Larry
  4. In the past we've seen the HD meter maids using the trike versions but here's a realitively new twist on them. http://ozarksfirst.com/fulltext?nxd_id=772962 But they're not the first either - http://www.dailymail.com/mediafiles/thumbs/450/311.53846153846/Spyder1_I110427230719.jpg Maybe Skid can enlighten us on the usability and reasoning for WV choice there? Larry
  5. Blue is the normal choice but be aware that you need to keep it away from the ABS plastic as it'll eat it up. Locktite does make a thread sealer for ABS applications. I don't know the number off hand so you'll need to look it up. Larry
  6. Can't vouch for your 96 RS but I had one on a Suzuki Volusia and it made a world of difference in rider comfort. All day rides were possible with hundreds of miles clocked. Larry
  7. OK I didn't know that 83-85's wouldn't interchange with 86 and later models. So I learned something today. Larry
  8. PM me I have a Markland hitch I took off the 83. Never going to use it either. Larry
  9. Not much room behind that bracket. I'd go with the drilling it out & taping to the next size bolt myself. Larry
  10. :rotf::rotf: Good comparison I must say Larry
  11. Had a friend send me this link and thought I'd share it with those who liked the small cars. Click this Link Larry
  12. Of course I know what day today is. I'm that lost ya know. sometimes but never lost. Larry
  13. Saw the info on Face Book as well. Sorry if I jumped the gun but Happy Birthday in advance just the same.
  14. :Happy Birthday: Freebird
  15. Welcome to the site DitchDoc. We'll also see you at the International Rally in July. Larry
  16. OK Fuzzy those would definitely be classified as trikes. As Ragtop says CSC started out with sidecars and eventually got into the triking business, which is probably over 90% of their business today. The Hannigan Tri-Car is a whole different animal. Here's a link for pics of what they looked like- http://www.google.com/search?q=Hannigan's+Tri-Car&hl=en&rlz=1T4GGNI_enUS464US464&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=S54pUYTtJ5SE0QHjxoGoDQ&ved=0CDYQsAQ&biw=1120&bih=505 I've seen only two of them, one on the road at a trikers rally in 07 and the other in Hannigan's showroom. Larry
  17. Is it a side car or a trike? Most pics I've seen had trailers for side cars either hooked up to the bike in the normal manner but most were hooked up with the trailer tracking behind the bike & sidecar centered. A trailer hooked to a sidecar rig behind the bike itself makes for an even wider unit thus the reason for centering them. Trikes always are centered. I think even if the CSC outfit was make like Hannigan's Tri-Car it would still be centered. Most likely a custom built hitch assembly would be required in either case. Larry
  18. So CharliE the question remains? Are we gonna see you on 2 wheels again this year? Something slow enough to keep them away? Hope to see you sometime this summer again too. Larry
  19. Well look what the cat dragged in. Charlie we may not of contacted you but rest assured you were never totally forgoten. I mean who could ever forget a character like you. Well anyways WELCOME back. Oh ya I remember a trailer full of ice and beer at MD too. Larry
  20. I can't say which to avoid but as suggested check out triktalk.com. All makes and models are covered as to both trike manufactures and bikes themselves. In my experince with the Yamaha RSV trikes Tri-Wing and Hannigan are your only choices. Having had both I prefer the Hannigan due to smoother, more stable ride due to it being wider and lower with independent suspension opposed to Tri-Wings solid axle setup. On the Wings I've seen good reports about Roadsmith, CSC, Motor Trike, & Hannigan. I would suggest your friend do a lot of reading & researching of the various companies. Also the installer needs to be checked out as some are better than others. Larry
  21. Can't help with the housing but Congratulations on the promotion just the same. Good luck to Lori & you. Larry
  22. Ya a guy would have a serious pucker factor with his bike on a lift like pictured. I'm sure Hannigan uses a trike rated lift. Larry
  23. I'm pretty sure Joyce and I will be there. Trying to find some friends to tag along as well. Larry
  24. :stirthepot: again. Somebodies bored Wonder if it snowed there again? Larry
