  1. Here's a few pics taken of them on my old 05Midnight. Larry
  2. I'm in this one too so I guess I'm in good standing there. Don't think I'm in the other one thou. At least I've never been invited and if I am I'll just ignore the invite. I do belong to a couple or three other sites but VR.org is home and always will get top billing. Larry
  3. Are we talking 1st gen or 2nd gen here for this item? Larry
  4. Dick has a point there to some extent. Being retired now my taxes aren't as high as they used to be so I pay in less but generally get back less as well. I try to have just enough deducted so I don't have to pay yet keeping the refund low. For a few years I didn't even have to pay State taxes or even have them deducted from my income. That changed last year but lucky me I still got all I paid in back due to being under the basic income deduction line. Next year who knows. Oh yea filed my taxes last week. State cleared and now waiting for the Feds. Taxes the only thing besides death you can be assured of. Larry
  5. On 2nd gens they're used to attach the lower fairings on. No idea where they would be used on a 1st gen bike. Larry
  6. Check out Patti's 1880 settlement if you get a chance. http://www.landbetweenthelakes.com/pattis-settlement.html Larry
  7. Where's Gene AKA: Beer 30
  8. If it works let me know. I've got a lot of pure lead for when I was shooting black powder and also a bunch of wheel weight lead tined for cast bullet shooting. Oh and let us know which works best for the most return in gold. Larry
  9. Look who's another year older today. Our very own Aussie Annie. :Happy Birthday: Wishing you a very good day and hoping there's many more you youngster. Larry
  10. Verdict from the dealer is both rear coils dead. Trying to get Yamaha to replace them under warranty but so far they're refusing to do so because they want a reason for why both would go out at once. The shop hasn't an explanation as to why both would go bad at once so anyone here have any ideas? Looking back thru past posts on this subject it does appear most failures have been with cylinder #3 - right rear. If we can't find a cause then the repair bill is going to be my problem. Larry
  11. Got on my pc this morning and was checking my mail. Saw the renewal request for VR so first priority of business was renewing my membership here. Probably a bunch of other folks will be getting their renewal slips as well. Thanks Don for such a great website and club you have formed here for us Venture and even non Venture owners. Tipping my hat to you sir for all of the hard work & time you put into this site. Thanks, Larry
  12. Can't be Yammers cause his is made of cement blocks & metal roofing. I don't think I've ever seen such a pathetic looking building. In fact I know I haven't. Larry
  13. Having been involved in accidents in the past myself I always hate to hear of fellow riders going down. Only good thing in mine was they were never as bad as some have had to deal with. Do like the guys say and take your time healing. Larry
  14. Ok so you're now you've went further south but still about the same distance from us here in Michigan. Good luck on the new job and new home. Larry
  15. Sounds like a great deal. Count me & Joyce in. Larry
  16. Like the low profile of that vendors latch Jay. Good job Larry
  17. Yep that'll be a much cheaper alternative. The flip top caps I order are stainless steel and a bit pricey but IMO well worth the cost. A quality trike deserves a quality cap. Just my humble opinion here. Larry
  18. Kid my tank system will work with any of the Hannigan conversions and their optional equipment as the other guys are saying. I did have to cut off a small bracket on the left side of the frame on my bike thou. It was for mounting the fuel pump they use. I don't think all of the conversions have that bracket either. I know Ragtops didn't and as far as I know no one else has mentioned it having to be cut off . So I'm guessing only the newer conversions will have that bracket or maybe only those that requested an aux tank in their build sheet. Larry
  19. Anyone have a pic or know how the cap is attached on the Hannigan aux tank? If it's a normal sized 1 1/2" or 2" hose coupling the cap to the tank then its an easy swap for a flip top style cap Larry
  20. I use a flip top style gas cap on my auxiliary tank builds. http://www.google.com/search?q=Flip+top+gas+caps&hl=en&qscrl=1&rlz=1T4GGNI_enUS464US464&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=aHtdUdeRNpS24AO-pIGYBA&ved=0CEsQsAQ&biw=1120&bih=524 How is the cap and fill neck attached on the Hannigan aux tanks? That info will determine which way to go in looking for an alternative cap. Pics would be helpful too. Research marine fill caps as well. Maybe you'll find a replaceable cap to your liking that way. Larry
  21. I'd be about 50 miles from there. north - northeast. That town is located just northwest of Toledo, Oh so someone from that area may be closer. Close enough for a nice ice cream run or day ride visit. Let us know when you get there. Sorry can't help on housing thou. Larry
  22. Dropped off the bike today at the dealer. We'll see what they find as to the cause of the spark failure. Larry
  23. Nice job . I too love the gauge pod, and your idea of the two-tone painted lowers. Larry
  24. Sorry Jay, nope its for the coils to mount to The coils have a separate bracket that then bolts to the bracket Gary shows. Best keep it there Gary Larry
