  1. Gotta agree with Brad on hosting this after the new year is started. Need a head count and someone willing to take the bull by the horns too. That may determine just where it'll be held at as well. Larry
  2. Our condolences offered up as well Annie. Peace to all. Larry
  3. We'd be in for wherever it's held at. It was usually held after the 1st of the year. Folks can suggest the best dates and we can decide which works for the majority. Larry
  4. Sorry for the families loss Gary. I thought this message was important enough in that I reposted it to my face book page. Hopefully the ladies in our lives see the importance of regular check ups. Larry
  5. I am glad it got worked out to everyone's satisfaction. I too was another of the lucky ones who didn't have to serve (medical deferment) during the Vietnam years but I truly appreciate those that did, knowing the hardships they went thru both there and upon returning home. Larry
  6. Welcome back Gary. Hope that job interview results in a good job for you. Hi to Leslie from Joyce & I too. Larry
  7. I would defineately buy another one, either color matched (prefered) or black. Had one on my 05& loved it.
  8. Unfortunately that is the norm rather than the exception you've experienced. I've have better results using trading times. Larry
  9. Survived another year hey Carl? Happy Birthday to you. Larry
  10. I've had a pair of these for the last 2-3 years and they've held up well. Love the side zipper style boots. No issues with them so far either. I also have a pair of non-insulated 6" high boots of the same features and generally where them during the warmer months. Had these for a number of years as well with similar results. Got both from a local Army surplus store at competitive prices. Larry
  11. Way to go there Wes. Nice car and one to be proud of since it's all yours. Keep up the hard work and you'll be rewarded. Larry
  12. Beat me to saying this LOL
  13. Sorry to hear of your loss Karl. As everyone has said we all at one time or other have dealt with this topic. Your presence was appreciated I'm sure. Remember him by keeping him close to your heart. Larry

  17. Happy Thanksgiving to all of my fellow Venture Rider.org members. Enjoy the day with your loved ones. Larry
  18. we did the same as Gary. Lodge room Saturday thru Thursday morning Larry
  19. If not mentioned already a credit card for gas would be nice. Not necessarily as a grand prize but one as one of the other prizes given out. Depending on the amount on the card perhaps several could be given out. Larry
  20. Will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. on his upcoming operations and that the Docs are successful in get him fixed up. Larry
  21. No way would I want that with the way those welds look either. Like cowpuc says the idea may be ok. Another thing is that it could be top heavy depending on what you put in it and on how wide the wheels are. For the cost you may still be better off getting a HF trailer and car top it. Larry
  22. For many deer hunting season has been and is still in effect. I got a reminder of that this morning while on the way to a dentist appointment for Joyce. One second I'm driving down the road and the next I'm playing bumper tag with a doe. Fortunately we were in my truck so the only real damage was to the bumper. The deer managed to high tail it into the brush but I'm sure it didn't fair very well. Be safe out there folks. Larry l
  23. Ya I think there's more than a few of us who can relater to this topic . Hang in there Dan. It's bound to get better sooner or later, hopefully sooner. Praying for better days for all of us. Larry
  24. I've had two so far. A 08 Sportage with the V-6 engine then traded that in for a 11 Sorento with the bigger V-6. I had about 60,000 on the Sportage when it was traded . Never had any problems other than regular maintenance stuff. The Sorento has about 14,000 on it now. Only reason for trading was to get a stronger engine for towing the trike, plus getting more room in the bigger SUV. It gets me 27-32 mpg except for towing then really takes a hit there. Last spring I replaced a 14 year old Dodge pickup with a Nissan Frontier so that gets all of the towing dutys now. Larry
