Joyce here. Thanks for all the good wishes from everyone. Like Larry said a few bumps along the road but things worked out. Still love him and hope m o 're good times to come

Congrats to you guys as well. I guess this day was as good as any back then. At least today was a lot warmer. We had snow flurries falling when we came out of the church back then and it was a Saturday. Nothing to stick on the ground though. Larry

Happy Anniversary Joyce. 47 years ago we tied the knot on this adventure of ours to share our lives together not knowing at the time what it would bring us. At the time we were simply just leaping into uncharted territory but it's been a great adventure even with a few bumps in the road of life along the way. With a great daughter & their son & daughter and son with their 3 kids we have a wonderful family. Also a great son in law and daughter in law. So far our kids are having great careers and with the grand kids finishing school, entering collage, or taking on jobs of their own we sort of see ourselves in them beginning their lives journeys. Yep looking back we can be proud of what we've managed to do yet I'm still looking forward to what we'll share in our remaining years together. Love you Joyce Larry

I don't have a Carb tune but uses gauges instead. If you don't get the carbs syned before going to B2Dad/Mom's M&E I'll bring my gauges. Larry

Happy Easter all. May today we celebrate with our families and reflect on our spiritual side of life knowing our Lord is with us. Larry

Jonesy is right about the stiffer ride. Had a Tri-Wing kit on my 05. I rode that bike for almost 5 years putting 30,000 miles on it before getting "T" boned by a cage. Handling is OK but after having my current Hannigan I would never go back to a solid axle trike. Unless Tri-Wing has upgraded their kits you'll still be dealing with drum brakes. I converted the drum brakes to discs within a couple years just to get more even, better stopping brakes. It also made a world of difference for stopping. Hannigan has a lower profile, longer and wide wheel base to enhance handling. B2Dad called it a Vette on 3 wheels. LOL Larry

windows 7 help
Carbon_One replied to Carbon_One's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
It's fixed now. I had to close some programs on startup before the entire page would load. Also did a restore point from an earlier time. Looking good now but will check out your references. Thanks guys for the suggestions. Larry -
Yes he must be awful light on the throttle on take-offs.

This afternoon my Windows page won't open. The page loads up but stops leaving a white blank page. Clicking links to other site other than the home page has no effect. My first thought was a server problem but we have full access on a laptop & this tablet I'm using now. Any & all help appreciated, Larry
-
Yep that'll give plenty of clearance for 2 wheelers. Never had this problem when my 05 was on 2 wheels nor with the Tri-Wing conversion since it sat about the same as before. Larrry

I finally had a chance to take some measurements. The lowest point on the bike is 4 3/4" at the bottom of the running board braces that clamp to the frame. Measurements at both the bottom of the front crash bars and the skid plate came out to 5". I don't know what the clearance would be on a 2 wheeler but that would vary depending on how much air is in the shock and whether it has either lowering or leveling links. I feel that this would be a good item for the trikers for sure due to them being low already. Currently I have a couple made up for testing but feel the design is good to go so if anyone else wants one drop me a line. Larry

OK just now seeing this post and am glad you got it all worked out with the guys help here Owen. My main question is how the bike had gotten off centered on the stand in the first place? Due to the fact that most weight or I should say that the balance enter has now moved rearward with a trike conversion opposed to a conventional 2 wheeler it does make it trickier lifting. I've had my trike up numerous times over the years without having this problem so am somewhat baffled about your situation. Certainly it's a lesson learned and can be avoided in the future. Larry

Yep, got up this am to find 2-3" of white wash, as Puck calls it, on the ground. Enough is enough. Weatherman says we'll break snow records this year. Hope you got your power back online Jay. Larr

Bummer you & the bike are hurt Dan. Especially you. You too Scott. Hope you both get back to normal soon. Got to find them Wisconsin dudes & tell them to knock off this snow business. Another 3" this morning on the ground that we sure as hell don't need nor want. Larry

You're partly right dj. Yea I could make sure the trailer sits at the right angle by jacking up the tongue even with the trailer attached to my truck. But I have gone over some of those parking lot and residential roads with those speed bumps and have scraped briefly. True it don't happen but once in a blue moon but then why temp fate again. Haven't actually measured the ground clearance with the bike sitting level but will do it tomorrow. Nothing like a project to keep those creative juices flowing too. I like the challenge. Larry

Thanks for the input guys. Jeff that third bolt mentioned does go thru the center stand tabs. Perhaps a shortened version at the rear of the skid plate could be adapted in your case. T.J. I think that there'll still be plenty of air getting between the plate and the oil pan. I will recheck to verify there's full flow there. Maybe either add vent holes or as DJ mentioned form a scoop if there's room. I could probably put the front bent down instead of up. That bent section is 1/2" wide and at about 45*. Kbran I'll get back with you on this. Give me a few days to finalize this design. Larry

Last summer after attending Vogel I ripped out the oil pan drain plug on the bottom of my bike while loading it into my trailer. I had loaded it many times in the past with no problems but this one time was the exception for sure. Apparently the angle wasn't just right so the plug caught on the trailers ramp edge. With the Hannigan trike kit installed these bikes sit even lower than ever so today I decided to build a skid plate for added protection.. With the design I ended up with, I can still do an oil & filter change without removing it. It only has 3 bolts holding it on anyhow. I've attached a couple pics of the Larry

I think you're right on the time line for this site. I signed up here in May 05 when I bought my 05 new that year and I believe the site was up & running sometime in 04. Thou there was a site crash a couple years ago and was back up & running again in short time. Yep time sure has a way of steadily moving along don't it. Larry
