  1. Thanks for letting us know about Buddy Mike. Sorry to hear he's still having some health problems. I lsst saw him and snowflake at the B2D & D2Mom's M&E last May. Wishing & praying the docs fing out what ails him. Larry
  2. Two things come to mind on whether it'll be strong enough. One is the thickness of the tubing being used in the receiver, and its length. Two would be the overall size of the carrier itself and the size of the material being used. At 50 lbs max weight I don't really see any problems. Larry
  3. Interesting concept and it's been done before. Rex and the one that was made by Corbin come to mind. My guess is that they'll try competing head to head with the BRP Spyders. so look for a $20 k+ price tag. They'll have to really offer some incentives if they intend to sell many. Larry
  4. Still thinking and sending up those prayers for Skid and Warden. Hope both are getting well. Larry
  5. Happy Canada Day to all of our Canadian friends here at VR.org. Larry
  6. A couple recent posts reminded me of a preventive measure I took when I had the trunk off the trike while adding my auxiliary tank. When I repositioned the trunk on the trike I made a base out of 1/8" aluminum. I did this for two reasons. One was I not only moved the trunk back a bit but also changed the angle slightly per Joyce's request. Having done that the trunks bottom wouldn't be sitting flush on the luggage rack and would of only been supported in a small area. Two was there had been reports , one recently in fact, of the trunk bottoms cracking for either becoming loose or flexing on rough roads or overloading or a combination of all these. My trunk was in excellent shape but did this just the same to keep from future problems. At the time I added this sheet of aluminum Jay and I added one to Jeanie's trike as well. I can't recall for sure just now if hers had cracks on the bottom of the trunk but we added one just to be safe. Larry
  7. Brenda it's good to see you posting AND enjoying the trike. Thanks for the auxiliary tank plug too. Larry
  8. Cool stories for all posters so far. Nothing colorful from me thou. Went from a Allstate scooter at age 15 to Harley Sportsters into my late 20's with a few Honda's, BSA and a VW trike in between them. Raised our family and then came back into biking in 2001 getting a new Volusia at the time, From there to my 05 Midnight and now 09 RSV/Hannigan trike. Oh and my 83 I picked up about 4 years ago. Still in the process of getting that baby road worthy. Anyhow thanks for sharing your stories guys. Larry
  9. Strictly dealer or factory install. They don't sell to individuals doing their own installs. Sorry. Had the factory do mine and was happy with their work. Larry
  10. Here's what I have on the trike. http://www.leatherconnexion.com/-Mud-Flap-Small-Bulb-Style-P1002C234.aspx Mine has red piping to match the bikes red. I had these on the 05 as well & really like them. Had a custom made set for the rear of the TRI-WING 05 but not needed on the rear of the Hannigan. Larry The inner section is a thick rubber with the leather on the outside. Very durable and easy cleaning. with whatever you choose but do get one for the front. Larry
  11. Yep right on all accounts. Glad to hear you & your Mrs. are enjoying the ride even more now. Larry
  12. Yep they just need to head north. Larry
  13. I'd be nervous just walking that road let alone traveling on 2 ,3, or 4 wheels. Give me a surefooted mule and off we'd go. Larry
  14. All of Hannigan's trikes I've seen have been for the RSV. The top of the body has a recessed area that allows the trunk to attach to the luggage rack as normal. Hannigan may well have a flat topped body for the RSTD's but best to give them a call. Just a thought but the luggage rack on the RSTD may well still utilize the opening Hannigan uses for the RSV's trunk. TRI-Wing is the only other company offering a trike conversion to my knowledge for these bikes. with which ever way you go. Larry
  15. Get well ASP Jonesy. Hope this will all be behind you soon enough. Take care & mind the Docs orders. Larry
  16. Probably hopelessly lost. That's cause everyone tells you where to go. No storms here , nothing but nice weather thou we are expecting some rain to come thru tonight and maybe tomorrow. Larry
  17. Nice find Joe. Hope you'll get a lot of happy miles on it. Fitting you so that you're comfortable is all that matters as to what you're riding. Enjoy it. Larry
  18. I think if Puc was to get a smaller single wheeled trailer he'd be in heaven touring. He could still hit those two tracks easily. Those type trailers track the same as the bike and as far as I know handle great. Maybe someone who uses one can comment on this. TX? maybe? Larry
  19. While I haven't ridden a Harley trike to be able to compare the differences between it and my RSV/Hannigan trike, my trike doesn't handle nowhere near like what's been described by those who have ridden the Harleys. It's a very stable machine due to the wide rear axle, longer wheel base, and raked tree. The independent suspension also contributes to as smoother ride. The only time I've only experienced "head shake" at slow speeds going over rail old crossings at an angle. I have ridden a Suzuki Volusia that was triked. No raked tree, solid axle, short narrow wheel base and couldn't wait to get off of it. That trike probably compares with a non raked Harley. Bottom line is not all trikes are created equally. As for those folks who lost their lives I grieve for them & their families as I would for any fellow bikers. Larry
  20. I've painted the back side of the wind deflectors black for a dark effect. If you spray with a very light touch you could get the smoked effect you're looking for. Larry
  21. Sorry to hear of your loss Bob. Will keep you and Becky in our thoughts and prayers. Have a safe journey to and from Michigan. Larry
  22. Got it Bill Sending the order out Monday. Larry
  23. Got it Earl. Sent it out this afternoon. I e-mailed you the shipping info as well. Larry
  24. I'm back. I hope. This past week I've been without my desktop and no e-mails were getting thru to me from Monday till this evening. Thou I managed to get online a few times it was only on either the tablet or laptop, but still no mail getting through from my server. I even took the desktop into a PC shop and they did find and remove a virus but that really doesn't seem to have been the cause. Bottom line is if anyone were wanting to contact me during the week they'll need to do so again. Sorry for any inconveniences folks. Larry
  25. He also makes a clutch bleeder cover. Besides that I also have his carb covers and twinkles. As noted all items are well made quality items. Larry
