  1. Craig I had Avon's on the trike with a throttle rocker. You can buy the with or without the throttle rocker. I loved them. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=avon+grips&_from=R40&_osacat=10063&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xavon+grips+-+Yamaha&_nkw=avon+grips+-+Yamaha&_sacat=10063 If you decide to stick with stock grips I still have the set I took off the 09. Less than 10k on them. Yours for the asking. Larry
  2. Some good news at least as to what the docs think ails ya Puc. Now to hoping & praying the meds kick that sinus infection out for good. James offering my prayers for you a well. Getting old has some benefits but getting sick sure ain't one of them. Heal up guys. Larry
  3. The guy probably has other more serious reasons for not showing. A fine and/or 60 days is nothing to really speak of as far as punishment goes. All we can do is try to be a vigilant as possible and sometimes that isn't even enough. Larry
  4. Never had any problems in rain. Maybe some sealer would help. Larry
  5. It seems I've misplaced or hid those little buggers as they're not to be found just yet. Sorry guys. I'll continue looking for them. Larry Found them and will send out to anyone in need of them
  6. I had to replace both of mine on the trike. Shoot me a pm with your address as I have extras. I had to buy a package of them. A dozen maybe as I can't remember now how many there was in a pack. Anyone else needing some let me know as well. Larry
  7. Nice pics Patti and thanks for sharing. Looks like we missed a great outing this weekend. Larry
  8. Good to see the old boy is still around. :clap2:Nice pic too & thanks for sharing. Larry
  9. Nice and you'll love that ride. It don't get any better with the RSV & Hannigan combo. Larry
  10. We might be able to make it. Time will tell Larry
  11. As some here have known for a while I had for sale / have sold my trike. Well this morning my beloved trike left my driveway for the last time and is headed south to S.C. Hated to see it go but there's just no room in the garage for two trikes nor justification money wise for two trikes. I do feel that the new owner, who'll remain nameless for now, (I'll let him post up when he gets home) will take good care of the bike. He was very happy and more than pleased to get this bike. For now I still have the 83 Standard to ride so I'm not totally bike less. I do have another trike on order and hopefully have it sometime next month. A Polaris Slingshot. Nope I won't even think of leaving this great site as I have way too many friends here. So you're all stuck with me. I'll continue to contribute with info, help, and products for these great bikes too. Larry
  12. Buddy's bringing presents ? Now I'm really sad cause we can't be there. Bummer Larry
  13. While this Slingshot or any other 3 wheeler won't replace 2 wheeled bikes there is a place for them. Sure some are simply add ones for conventional motorcycles and some are fresh off the drawing boards whether its a major company making them or someone's home built using car type drivetrains with a mc front on it. I do agree with Brian about width opposed to height of a bike being more noticeable by the average cager. I know in my case going from 2 wheels to 3 on a trike has made a huge difference in being seen. So IMHO bigger is better. Checking specs on the Slingshot its 4" wider & 6" longer than our Miata. Also seat height is about the same, so I don't think there'll be much of a visibility problem of people seeing it. I do agree it sitting as low as it does will create problems at times for the driver to see sometimes. Same thing again in the Miata. I try to avoid potential blind spots, especially around large vehicles. Even some other sports cars have a lower set height like Vette's. Sitting inside a framed trike like the Slingshot or Motor Tries Stallion seems safer to me than one. Cost of a Slingshot is comparable and actually cheaper than some trikes, even 2 wheeled bikes. I'm buying our Slingshot for mostly comfort for both wife & I and the extra safety over conventional tikes. Being older now we don't heal so fast anymore. Doesn't hurt to have the wow factor either. I'll give a report on it once I get it ( October?) and put a few miles on the clock. Larry
  14. Enjoy this period of your life Lewis. You've earned this by working hard all of your life to get to this point. Sure there will be some drawbacks like learning to live on a fixed income but for the most part you'll be enjoying a new found freedom to do what you want. You can work around home as much as you want, when you want. Didn't finish something today,do it tomorrow. LOL Larry
  15. That's the kind of news we all want to keep hearing from you Jeff. Hope that tumor continues shrinking till nothing but a bad memory for you. Larry
  16. Hoping whatever is ailing ya the Docs get you back to normal. Well what supposed to be normal for you anyways. Larry
  17. WOW Eck!!! When you mess up you do a bang-up job of it. Sorry for the pun. I do wish you a speedy recovery thou. Having been around all manner od mowers and tractors at the golf courses I've seen more than a couple rollovers or runaway insincedents with them. Never a good outcome for either operators or equipment. Hope you don't run out of those meds too soon as you may need them a while. Larry
  18. I've got one as well. Mine would be a perfect candidate for powder coating as there's a scruff mark on one corner.
  19. Joyce & I had a great time at the rally talking & enjoying time with new & old friends alike. Even thou we caged it in the Miata too. Our only trouble was with someone who put a serious scratch on the passengers door last night or early this morning. Grrrr. Unfortunately we didn't see it till we got home. Got a pm from cecdoo confirming it was done at Microtel's parking lot. Don't know if it was deliberately done or by a very careless person but ether way we're saddened. Its fixable and life will continue on. Looking forward to the next VR.org gathering Larry BTW: Ragtop is pretty lucky he even made it home today. Good thing the border agents didn't find his ammo clip when they did a search of his bike. Might of been tough on him explaining where the gun was. Same for the apple pie but I'd beat the evidence was all drunk before this morning. LOL
  20. That's always been the case. But knowing in advance does give one time to prepare getting vacation time set aside with their work place & family. Larry
  21. Puck we left a couple hours after Raggy did. No other paper work involved except show the customs agent our pass ports or enhanced drivers license for those folks who use those. Just normal questions like where ya going, etc. Larry
  22. Found a roomfull of VR riders at the White Star restraunt. Yep we made it here after a late start. Larry
  23. On my 05 I would get some popping on deceleration sometimes. After resetting the floats and bumping the pilot jets up one size it no longer did any popping. I also had better cold weather starting with less choke. Plug readings after the change still left a nice brown tan coloring on the spark plugs. I was using K&N filters as well so that may have influenced stuff too. Larry
  24. Dan you either adapt or quite riding.
  25. Awesome Puc. Thanks for sharing with us and thanks for the "secret'" supporter too. Larry
