    Sad day

Sorry to hear of your loss Buddy & Peggy. May you always remember the good times you had with Dakota. I'm sure those good times out weigh any bad ones by far. Prayers to you both. Larry
  2. Congrads to the two of you, Puc and Tippy. Wishing you both many more years sharing this special occasion. God bless the both of you. Larry
  3. 911 is one date in history of our great country that never will be forgotten. Thanks Venturous for your story. I was at work as well and it was very eerie for me to not see a plane anywhere in the sky as we live near an airport and its flight paths.
  4. Guess I'll eat some crow now. I know at one time there was some talk between Suzuki and Kawasaki doing projects together. Nothing came of that I think. Oh well
  5. Don't feel bad Joe. I swiped that link off FB after Mike "The Diamond Cut guy" posted it. Larry
  6. Anybody see this post before? Thoughts? http://motorcycles.about.com/b/2012/04/01/mega-merger-announced-by-japanese-motorcycle-manufacturers.htm?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=shareurlbuttons One paragraph of the article -- The new organization promises to be a technological tour de force. "We will usher in a new era of motorcycling," said spokesperson Soichiro Genichi Kojiro Michio, speaking on behalf of the manufacturers. "Using our new collective of racetracks which now includes Fukuroi, Motegi, Autopolis, and Hamamatsu, we will engineer a bold new breed of four-cylinder superbikes that will beat the best from Germany, Italy, and beyond." "By bringing together our collective powers, we will deliver a world class 200+ horsepower, 1,000cc sportbike for under $10,000, a 100 cubic-inch cruiser for under $5,000, and an eight-cylinder touring bike for less than the price of a maxi-scooter." Interesting times may be in the near future. Larry
  7. Got an 83 maroon colored one available as well. Reasonable offers accepted. Will take a pic tomorrow if interested. Larry
  8. Congratulations on your anniversary. It sounds like she is definitely a keeper. Wishing you many more years together. Larry
  9. Sad news no one wants to hear. Prayers for Joe & his family. Larry
  10. A very beautiful bike Jonas and you're rightfully entitled to be proud of how it turned out. Love the seat combo and once you get that bib that'll be icing on the cake so to speak. Awesome detailing there. Larry
  11. Happy Birthday Lewis. Hope you have a great day today.
  12. I believe its a 12 mm sized Allen socket. Hannigan provides a tool with that size on one end and a 3/4" hex head on the other end. Length is about 2 7/8" long. You could purchase just a Allen socket in 1/2" drive and use an extension to clear the rim. Larry
  13. Know how you're feeling having seen our trike depart for its new home last weekend. yea a bittersweet moment bit then you have a new ride too. I'm still waiting for my replacment to come in at the dealers. Larry
  14. Craig I had Avon's on the trike with a throttle rocker. You can buy the with or without the throttle rocker. I loved them. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=avon+grips&_from=R40&_osacat=10063&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xavon+grips+-+Yamaha&_nkw=avon+grips+-+Yamaha&_sacat=10063 If you decide to stick with stock grips I still have the set I took off the 09. Less than 10k on them. Yours for the asking. Larry
  15. Some good news at least as to what the docs think ails ya Puc. Now to hoping & praying the meds kick that sinus infection out for good. James offering my prayers for you a well. Getting old has some benefits but getting sick sure ain't one of them. Heal up guys. Larry
  16. Never had any problems in rain. Maybe some sealer would help. Larry
  17. It seems I've misplaced or hid those little buggers as they're not to be found just yet. Sorry guys. I'll continue looking for them. Larry Found them and will send out to anyone in need of them
  18. I had to replace both of mine on the trike. Shoot me a pm with your address as I have extras. I had to buy a package of them. A dozen maybe as I can't remember now how many there was in a pack. Anyone else needing some let me know as well. Larry

  22. We might be able to make it. Time will tell Larry
  23. As some here have known for a while I had for sale / have sold my trike. Well this morning my beloved trike left my driveway for the last time and is headed south to S.C. Hated to see it go but there's just no room in the garage for two trikes nor justification money wise for two trikes. I do feel that the new owner, who'll remain nameless for now, (I'll let him post up when he gets home) will take good care of the bike. He was very happy and more than pleased to get this bike. For now I still have the 83 Standard to ride so I'm not totally bike less. I do have another trike on order and hopefully have it sometime next month. A Polaris Slingshot. Nope I won't even think of leaving this great site as I have way too many friends here. So you're all stuck with me. I'll continue to contribute with info, help, and products for these great bikes too. Larry
  24. Buddy's bringing presents ? Now I'm really sad cause we can't be there. Bummer Larry
  25. While this Slingshot or any other 3 wheeler won't replace 2 wheeled bikes there is a place for them. Sure some are simply add ones for conventional motorcycles and some are fresh off the drawing boards whether its a major company making them or someone's home built using car type drivetrains with a mc front on it. I do agree with Brian about width opposed to height of a bike being more noticeable by the average cager. I know in my case going from 2 wheels to 3 on a trike has made a huge difference in being seen. So IMHO bigger is better. Checking specs on the Slingshot its 4" wider & 6" longer than our Miata. Also seat height is about the same, so I don't think there'll be much of a visibility problem of people seeing it. I do agree it sitting as low as it does will create problems at times for the driver to see sometimes. Same thing again in the Miata. I try to avoid potential blind spots, especially around large vehicles. Even some other sports cars have a lower set height like Vette's. Sitting inside a framed trike like the Slingshot or Motor Tries Stallion seems safer to me than one. Cost of a Slingshot is comparable and actually cheaper than some trikes, even 2 wheeled bikes. I'm buying our Slingshot for mostly comfort for both wife & I and the extra safety over conventional tikes. Being older now we don't heal so fast anymore. Doesn't hurt to have the wow factor either. I'll give a report on it once I get it ( October?) and put a few miles on the clock. Larry
