Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year...

Merry Christmas & a safe & Happy New Year to everyone as well. Here's hoping we cross paths somewhere sometime next riding season . Larry -
Yes I plan on going to Don's MD. And to the International rally.

After waiting 4 months I finally received my Polaris Slingshot today. I've only driven it about 50 miles so far but what a thrill. Open cockpit experience with lots of comfort. Had a good day weather wise to be able to drive rather than trailer it home. Hopefully the weather will stay nice enough to get in a few more rides before winter really kicks in. Larry

Wife , Joyce has a "11" retractable hardtop that we both enjoy riding. It has the auto trans in it but can also be shifted manually with paddle levers on the steering wheel. Here's a pretty good site - The MX-5 Miata Pit Stop: MX-5 Miata.net There's also a lot of local groups scattered thru out the country. Here's one we belong to too give you an idea of what they're like. -- https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MiMiata/info Perhaps you can find a similar group in your area. Good luck. Larry

Dang Puck, I'm sure hope that after all of the motor testing you did the Doc's can give ya a clean bill of health. I know well how you were feeling with "Ed" getting all that practice, definitely not fun at all. Bet you had to feel better getting back to the testing area after exploring the intensive care area. I mean which is really the better place to be after all? Larry

You nailed it Don.

What state are you in? Do you have a deposit down on one?
-
I got word from my dealer today that my slingshot should be delivered Monday. It's been a long 5 months waiting since my deposit was put down. If all goes well then I'll have it before Christmas. With weather being what it'll be, it may take a while before I can give a ride report. On legalities on using a neighboring state to get around a nonconforming one, say Texas or Indiana for example, there has been folks in those states registering their Slingshots in adjoining states to get around current bans. Not sure if anyone has done this in Maryland or Connecticut. Larry BTW: Texas & Indiana will most likely have their issues resolved after the first of the year.

Good news indeed James. I certainly hope your new year is healthy & stress free.

lift adapter issue
Carbon_One replied to baylensman's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
This may be late but give it a go next time you want to use the adapter. If the rod is still off a bit try turning the handle of the rod forward, then bend the rod just enough to be able to slip it into the last hole/frame tab. Next turn t handle 180* so it points rearward. That will tighten the adapter to the frame. Larry -
I have used a RCBS single stage press & the related accessories for years now and it still gets the job done. I did have a Hornady progressive press for a while that was good but sold it to a shooting club member who wanted more speed in loading handgun ammo. For me the single stage is all I really need for loading up both quality rifle & handgun ammo. I use a mix both RCBS & Hornady dies depending on caliber. Yes component costs have gone up considerably but so has everything else in the shooting sports. With a good stockpile of components you can be selective when buying replacement items. Other than .22 rim fire I shoot reloads exclusively. First time reloaders should stick with a good reloading book. As mentioned max loads aren't needed for best accuracy or longevity of the firearm. Remember safety first & foremost. Larry

If the jack is positioned correctly the bike will lift up evenly. With my lift adapters you can take off either wheel and the bike will still stay level. I'll also mention that I've never strapped down a bike while using my adapters. They're that solid. Larry

Well Puck I'm still hanging here. For the most part just waiting for my Polaris dealer to call me when the Slingshot gets delivered. So far there's been less than 100 sold country wide to customers. But the pace is picking up quicker now. I did get a ride in one last week. A new owner of one from the east side came by the house. Man even as a passenger that trike is awesome to ride. I just hope the weather & roads are still good enough to drive it home when they do call. Note to the Fool - keep that machine of yours pointing away from me. Oh ya chatted with Ragtop Saturday on phone. He was picking my brain for fuel pump info.

Happy Birthday Lonna. Wishing you a great day.

Works for me Don.

My marker puts me about half way between Detroit & Ann Arbor just north of I-94.
