  1. What, no answers from the experts here? How about any good piçs of the MK ll's mufflers so I can compare them to my 83? Larry
  2. Ok here's a question for the 1st gen experts. I've been told MK l & MKll's mufflers mount up differently. Also that the MK ll's can be " McGuivered". Anyone how what has to be done? The actual differences? Any & all bits of wisdom welcome. Thanks in advance, Larry
  3. Well put CowPuc. To bad the seller sold and shipped his item prior to receiving the extra shipping costs and unfortunately got the short end on the deal. Don't know if he was a regular member or bought thru the contact seller button but it don't matter. For the record I have also sent items out prior to receiving full payment but no problems to date. I do have faith & trust in our membership. Usually when someone preferred sending a check. I suggest keeping this set up as it is unless this becomes an issue. If someone is buying thru the buy it now or contact seller button and you don't recognize them as members then it pays to be careful. You can always refund their money if they don't want to pay the extra shipping fees.
  4. Sorry to hear this news. Prayers offered up for Mike & family .

  8. Better safe than sorry Don. Hope those tests prove you right.
  9. Cool . Looks like we'll cross paths a couple time while you're about here and there. Enjoy your trip Annie and Al. Larry
  10. Glad you're feeling a bit better Kat. Now the pampering can begin.
  11. Kat you've got my prayers. Daughter in law had that operation last year. She's done great since then. Maybe a couple road bumps along the way but nothing serious.
  12. For less than half the price ($30975) I'd rather have this --- http://motusmotorcycles.com/. It's a V-4 too. Larry
  13. You're right Randy about Don needing a breather. Course keeping some of these troublemakers here in line can be tiring & keeping Don busy too. Larry

  15. A most interesting topic here and one I can completely agree with on what the other posters have said. I've seen Don taking a lot of "ribbing" and never retaliate since getting his Harley. That to me says a lot about his character. I loved the two 2nd gen bikes I have owned and still think they're good bikes but certainly could use some modern updating by Yamaha. I'm expecting some ribbing myself having gone from my 09 trike to the Slingshot. I'll report on that once I get some miles on it. But no matter as I fully intend on sticking around as this place has become my biker family since joining back in 05. Besides I do have a 83 1st gen so I guess I still qualify here.:stirthepot In the end I for one am grateful Don continues this site even thou he no longer owns a Yamaha. Larry
  16. Regardless of how long he's been a member here he's still family. I'll offer up prayers for him & his family while he gets healed. Larry
  17. Thanks for sharing that snow down yonder Fool. I'm sure they're all enjoying it.
  18. Sorry for your loss Gary. Prayers for everyone.
  19. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Just another typical winter day here. Bowling night and was awful to say the least. BUT it was still a great evening since I won both a 50/50 and a mystery jackpot. Life is still good. Now by next week I hope to redeem myself on the scorecard. Larry
  20. Yep I've been keeping up with what's been going on with this recall. In fact stopped by the dealership this evening to get mine into Polaris's repair system. The dealership will call Polaris tomorrow with my vin number. From what I've read all units will be completed in about 4 weeks. Works ok for me since I'm not going anywhere soon on it due to being snowbound. Larry PS: Thanks for having my back guys
  21. At the Slingshot forum it's been said the entire rack & pinion will be replaced for all units sold to date. Apparently the vendor didn't heat treat the ball bearings to a hard enough rating so they were starting to fail. Only two known complete failures to date with no serious accidents involved. It's good to see Polaris taking this approach rather than a piecemeal repair to units as they fail. I don't have much mileage on mine due to winter here but will be stopping by my dealership this evening and setting up an appointment to get this done. Only good thing from my perfective is that I can't ride for another month or so , so it should be done by the time I'm ready to hit the road. Larry
  22. Yep a bunch of us enjoying the read & picks. Continue on Puck.
  23. Got one like new. Took it off when switching during trikes conversion. Pm me. Larry
  24. On my bikes I've gone from the stock OEM's to Silver Stars to PIAA's, & last to HID's. Each step up provided more & better light. My favorite was the HID with Pisa's 2nd.
