Have to agree pretty much with guys here. Both are good bikes. GW's seem to be the bike of choice when triking them due to accessories availabilities, quietness, & reverse. As noted the RSV isn't hard to move around but you still need to pay attention where/how you park them. One other thing is there are more companies offering trike conversions for the Wings then RSV's. It all comes down to which machine you like and fit best IMO. Keep the folks here informed what ya get. and do stick around. Larry

That's a nice bike Boo. Had a 65-67 SpitFire. Forget what year it was. Had the red/white fiberglass peanut tank and dual carbs. Sure wish I still had it too. Enjoy the ride. Larry

Nice bike. Do as the guys say and take your time getting aqquainted with the bike and the way it rides. Larry

I'll be adding an auxliary tank to my bike sometime this winter. While I & the Mrs. are ready for a break after a 125- 150 miles I've found that since triking the bike my tank rang has shrunk. Thee's been a couple of times that I was concerned about finding fuel in time thus the decision of adding say a 3-5 gal tank. Mine will be mounted under the trike body and out of sight except for the filler cap. I haven't decided yet on type or whatever but have found this topic interesting for all the various opinions floated about. Larry

BTW, looking at your signature, just FYI, I had the pleasue of skating with Gordie Howe..................... :-) Now that would of been quite the honor hey. Got up close to the Stanley cup a couple times but that's all here. Larry

I've added a Drag Specialities tach to the right handle bar. It's mounted with a Kurykyn "P" clamp in a Arlen Ness bullet cup. On the left handle bar I have a volt meter mounted in the same set up. Larry

I'm Back--Did Ya Miss Me?................
Carbon_One replied to Aussie Annie's topic in Watering Hole
You was gone?? Oh that explains why it was so quit here. Seriously Annie hope that bug ya got is gone now and you're feeling much better. Larry -
One thing not mentioned by the guys here is what I've found about the front brakes when bleeding them out. If you keep the front wheel straight there's almost always be air trapped in the top of the caliper. I find that turning the wheel to the left side and bleeding the right caliper will move that traped air out better. Especialy if using the master cylinder to bleed the brakes. Doing the left caliper you just swing the wheel over to the right and proceed from there. Enjoy your trip Pick Larry

Carbon-One Lift Adapter
Carbon_One replied to OB-1's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
While you can pull a rear wheel off with the bike on the stand you'll still need to raise it 2-3" with the jack to make it easier getting the wheel assembly out from under the fender. When I pull a wheel off I have the bikes wheel just barely touching the ground. Slide the wheel towards you taking it off the drivehub, raise the bike up enough to walk the wheel out from under the fend, then install the legs & lower it to the ground. Doing it this way you're not muscling a heavy tire & wheel assembly. Remounting is reversed. Thanks to all of my satisfied customers, Larry- 56 replies

should the gas cap and tank get hot?
Carbon_One replied to jdzimme's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Is the fan kicking on at all? If not then you'll need to find out why it's not. Could be a stuck shut thermostat too. No way should this be that hot you can't touch it. Let us know what you find out is the problem once it's resolved. Larry -
Wishing you the best of luck come November with the report. Sorry to hear about the right eye but as noted you were excepting it somewhat. Hopefully that'll be as far as it goes too. Thanks for letting us all know how you're doing too. Will keep you in thoughts and prayers as always. Larry

As it's been said it's not a hard job to install a GW vent. Did that on my stock shield and later when replacing it due to dropping the bike & wanting a wider shield I went with a Clearview shield. Great company to work with too I might add. Larry

Know what ya mean there Condor. While I've been fortunate enough to attend 2 of 3 Internationals I really really wanted to go to Cody this year. 4 days each way at 1600 miles one way just wasn't in the cards. Sure want to do one of these western rallies thou as going to Fort Collins just welted my appetite for more. Hoping next year things will be much better for traveling. Larry

Headlights, low or high beam on the 2nd gen stays on while cranking. While I don't use a "delay" I have installed a relay between the low beam and ignition switch. Thus I can turn off the low beam while cranking and also while just idling when stopped. I toggle it on or off with a reservoir 3 switch box. High beam still functions as normal. Larry

Who Makes do it yourself Trike Kits??
Carbon_One replied to Reaney in NH's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
OK guys I'm back. Been off line for the last week. Yep as stated above that's about the limit on options unless you truly do a one of a kind unit on your own. As to whether any bike is worth the costs or effort only the owner can make that decision. I think it mostly depends on how much riding one will do as well as their fininacial situation. Also on doing one yourself it does give you some personal satisfaction but if you think you'd be better off with a finished bike there can be some pretty decent trikes for sale if your patient. Just some rambling thoughts here . Larry -
Will keep you & Jackie in my thoughts. Hope the docs can do their stuff and get her back on track to being healthy once again. Larry

Speaking of shirts is that style going to work in Tx? Or are you going to have to revert to the standard western wear? Larry
