Heu Pat Don't know if you southern folk can handle cold weather riding and even if you can ya might better have a pair of snow tires on back of the trike. Oh a ski up front might be a good idea too. Coming up? Drop me a pm. Larry

Looks like I'm another one in this same boat. I've suffered with this for years with varying degrees of it happening. Nothing I've ever done has helped so I've learned to live with it. I have also worn hearing aids since I was about 20. I'm sure I won't be bothered by it once I go thru those pearly gates. Larry

A few thoughts & ramblings here from my experince of having owned a trike for the last two years. While the trike is heavier (400 lbs more) than the regular two wheeled RSV's as other's have said you get more brakes and the added traction of the car tires on back. I've never experinced any situation where the bike wanted to swap ends either. The balance point does move rearward about a foot / foot & a half. I think that the bike is actually a bit more balanced out over the regular RSV's. My conversion kit came with a solid axle set up with drum brakes. I never was happy with the braking power of the drums so converted over to a disc brake system I salvaged from a Ford car. In a real panic stopping situation prio to the disc brake conversion most of the braking was being done by the front discs. Now in a simliar situation it's a lot more evened out. Now I can use just the rear brakes if I want in say a smooth & moderate stop from normal driving under 50 mph. Concerning the solid axle over the IRS systems if I would of had a choice I would of gotten a IRS. They do give a smoother ride. As too the front end not handling the stopping I didn't see where one needs to update anything there. When I converted the bike I did upgrade the springs installing a non-progressive and heavier set. Forget which company I used at the moment thou. Knowing that there would be added weight not only in a static mode or normal riding there would also be more loading on the front when braking thus my reasons for upgrading the springs while I had the bike apart and getting the trees raked. As I said in an earlier post the Wings do have the trike market covered pretty good and seems to be the bike of choice for converting. Those Stallion trikes are nice too. Not you usual run of the mill mc coversion but a true ground up design. From reports I've seen on the trike web sites they handle great too. I guess it all comes down to what one likes and is willing to pay to be on three wheels. Anyhow as you can see from the posts here there's many opinions. It's great that we have all of these options to choose from as well. Larry

Thanks guys. I guess there's always pros & cons to stuff. This would be cheaper than a full size table lift yet like Squid says you're blocking one side of the bike. And would have to agree with Brad on addition safety features as well. Larry

Yea that's the one that guy copied from my design and sells them on e-bay. I don't have a patent on the design so anyone could do a copy cat version of my lift adapters. Having said that thou I think most of our members do buy from me thus supporting a fellow member of this riding club. Also if you want a freestanding version with legs i'm your guy as he doesn't build those. Probably a bit more labor intensive than he cares for or whatever. As Don says you really don't need one of my lift adapters for the 1st gen bikes. Besides the fact they won't fit on one. As for adding legs to a previous customers Standard model I'd be willing to do that. E-mail me and we'll work out the details. Ponch just how stable was that high lift jack when the bike was all the way up? I've looked at that style a couple of times and wondered about the stableness of it being up that high. Sure wouldn't have much bending over with that lift. Larry

When I had te reflectors on the bag guards I used heater hose cut just short enough to fit inside the reflector housing. I can't remember what size I used but know it was either 5/8 or 3/4" in diameter. Just measure the rails to get the proper sise is all you need to do. Larry

My 05 had 20k on the odometer when it's rear shock went to leaking. Even thou it was still covered under warranty I replaced it with a Works Performance shock because they were able to build up a special load rated shock for the trike conversion I was doing at the time. So I spent the bucks but got a rebuildable shock (if it ever needs it) and one that will handle the extra 400 lbs the bike now weighs. Larry -
That's a good start. What are you using for components? Kit? whatever. I'll be making a few changes on my trike after this next weekend. Larry

Fuel injected 1st Gen...

Like many here I would love to have EFI on the bike but with the costs involved to convert over it's just plain not cost effective for us average riders. Then again carbs are fairly simple and other then keeping them clean very little goes wrong with them. I do like reading & knowing that there are folks who do go that extra step trying to improve on these bikes. Larry -
Welcome aboard here Kerry. You won't find a much better site to enjoy and ride with. Also there's quite a few former Volusia/C-50 owners here ( myself included) so if you ever need some info on the bike give a shout out and we'll get ya pointed in the right direction. Larry

The only folks who haven't had any issues with c/t's are us trikers. Front tires do get cupping on the sides sooner and will cause vibrations at speed once they get cupped enough thou. Larry

Joyce and I got to get in one last, way too short, visit today with Brad & Lonna. As been said Michigan's loss is going to be Texas's gain with they get there. We'll miss you guys something awful but know too we'll see ya down the road again sometime. When we do it'll be all the more special. Have a safe trip getting there and wish you nothing but the best for your future. Larry
