Question on logging in? When I had Win 7 I didn't have to log in with a password on each startup but after installing Win 10 a password is required to open the pc. Is there a setting I can set or is this another improvement (?) of MS? This is for my desk top so only wife & I use it. Larry Oh and thanks SilvrT for that link on VueScan

Looking for instructions for Carbon One lift adapter
Carbon_One replied to Mad Dog's topic in General Tech Talk
I've found that due to slight variations the rod is rarely straight when inserting the rod into the frame tabs. It's really not a problem and actually a benefit as it tightens the adapter to the frame. Proper instructions: turn handle forward (level), then bend the rod enough to get a slip fit for the left side tab (kickstand side), turn handle 180* so its facing rearward. That should tighten the adapter to the frame. Larry -
Didn't put the oil in the bike already did ya? Larry
-
Its an easy job to pull the oil pan. I would do that if other methods fail on finding the plug. Oh ya no need to remove the motor from the bike either. Good luck, Larry

Thoughts & prayers for Linda and family during this time of sorrow. I'll miss talking about trikes with Jonsey. He'll be missed by many of us for sure. RIP Jonsey

Even I had forgotten about removing the adapter. Thus my warning in the instructions. On the rod I could have shortened it, but left it as is once I found out the side stand wouldn't close all the way. Consider it a backup safety. Larry

The REAL Venturerider! Newbes Especially Read...
Carbon_One replied to bongobobny's topic in Watering Hole
Hit that nail right on the head Bobby. Like you I've seen a lot of what you've described, even been involved in some of those example. Folks who have even drifted to other branded rides still call this place home, myself included. I'll say one thing for sure you can't beat being a part of this great site and participating with the folks here and at any of the meets, get-togethers , or rally's. I look forward to continuing meeting members this coming riding season. Until I get back on the road everyone be safe out there. Larry I'm not an original member, close thou as I joined up May of 05 when I first got my Midnight. -
On the same line as what's new, scroll to the right till you get to VR Chat. 2nd to last item. clicking it should open chat in a ne windowHope this helped ya , Larry

On my 05 Midnight trike I used a PCW kit. You're right about doing this upgrade now cause it's only a matter of more mileage & time before the stock clutch starts slipping. Usually between 20 & 30k. On the 09 trike I installed one of SkyDoc's kits. Bottom line both are good kits. Larry

Money wise its cheaper to purchase a bike already set up. There is also the Canadian company called Tri-Wing, http://triwing.com/. They'll sell you a kit that'll be a lot cheaper than Hannigan. Hannigan as far as I know doesn't sell kits to the public, they're strictly dealer or factory installed. I had a 05 RSV with the Tri-Wing kit I installed. Put well over 30k miles on it till it got totaled. I then switched to a Hannigan conversion. Hannigan is like comparing a Cady to a standard Chevy against the Tri-Wing. Thus the higher costs. The main differences is besides being wider the Hannigan uses independent suspension where as Tri-Wing uses a solid axle. Got any other questions just ask and I and others here will gladly do what we can to help ya. Larry

Thanks guys for the recommendations. Larry the adapter attaches to the bikes frame first then any atv / mc jack can be used. Currently I have one in stock. As for the eBay one its not Freestanding, nor has the improvements that that I've added. That was a copy cat modeled after my first design. Larry

looking for advice about buying a mustang covertible
Carbon_One replied to Atoolnut's topic in Watering Hole
We had a 2011 v-6 convertible. Great gas mileage and plenty of power but then we weren't driving like we're racing everybody either. No issues with that car while we had it. Some of the members probably remember the wife driving it to MD and to the Arkansas international rally. We also had a hard top 2013 Miata. Drove that car to a couple rallies as well. Loved both cars. Each had advantages and disadvantages thou nothing major. We didn't drive either one during winter months once the first snow and salt hit the roads and parked em till spring rains washed the crap away so can say much about winter driving them. Larry -
Might try contacting the local high school. Might get lucky enough to get someone who actually wants to earn some $$$$
