Been eyeing cooling vests for a while now and after reading the posts here decided it was time to order one. Here's my choice --- http://www.silvereagleoutfitters.com/shop/vest/MCV.html from http://www.silvereagleoutfitters.com/ I also ordered one of their do-rags --- http://www.silvereagleoutfitters.com/shop/head/CDR.htm Going to the Hub next week with low to mid 90* temps I'm sure it'll come handy. I'll report on this once I have a chance to use it. Larry

Looking forward to another great weekend get-away. I will either be riding straight thru to the Hub or may take a detour and hook up with Monty & B2Dad. Larry

Excellent rebuild there and congratulations on a job well done. Much pride in knowing you did it yourself too. Larry

Glad to hear you had some quality time for your family Don. Life goes by fast enough as it is without keeping in contact. As for the International rally it went well and was in good hands. Also don't feel too bad about not making it as I was in the same boat 2 years ago for the Canada rally. My family decicided that same week was a good time for a family reunion. Needless to say you can't be two places at once. Next years rally will be even sweeter when you go. Larry

I've had a Sterns suit 2005 with no problems. They've kept both me & the wife dry in some really heavy downpours. It's too bad that the new ones may or are having quality problems as they are light weight, fold up into a small package, and were priced right. Larry

And I won the Kroo shirt. Nice one too. Thanks Larry

Thinking of a second Stebel
Carbon_One replied to Maritimer's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've got one electric Magnum horn under the fairing and another under the lower left cowling where the other stock horn mounted. All I did was tie in with the Stebel air horn with new 14 gauge wire from the Stebel horn relay. You do lose a bit of volume being under cover but they're still plenty loud. Larry -

It's getting shipped out in the am so hopefully you'll be on the road soon Larry -
Yep trailer ticket was drawn. No I didn't win and didn't catch the winners name but I'm sure Kevin will post here soon who it was. Larry

Well another great International Rally is in the history books now. Kevin and Sue did a excellent job, as well as those who helped doing whatever they did to make this event another successful rally. We missed seeing some of those familiar folks we usually see but meet others new to us too. We rolled in about 2:30 this afternoon, beating those black clouds chasing me so stayed dry. Other than that it was a uneventful ride. Here's hoping the rest of those that were at the Int. rally do the same. Gonna go cool off for now . Will post pics later after getting settled back in. Larry

Gerry if you haven't lubed those drive splines yet I'd suggest you do that before doing anything else. I'm betting that once that is done you'll be riding a quite bike again. Larry

Alan what the guys say. Don't think there'll be any issuses getting a room and if by chance this place gets booked up there's a couple more hotels nearby. Larry

Nice job there Dave. I'm looking to do something similar for the trike. I do have a landscaper trailer with a steel mesh ramp but with the trike on it it's nudging the towing limit per manufacture of the Kia Sportage. Going with something of this nature would take away at least 600 lbs weight. Oh yea I checked boxes A,B, & C. Probably should add box D as well since that antique you ride is getting too worn out. Drive Pumpkin is Cooked
Carbon_One replied to RedRider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've got the one I took out of my bike when I triked it. It had about 20k miles on it when I pulled it. Pm me an offer for it. Larry -
Bob I'll show you the aftermarket set up at Potato Creek I have on my trike. I ran into somewhat the same problem when I added the Crown Vic rotators & calipers to the bike. No where near enough volume from the stock RSV master so. adapting I went. LOL Larry

OOPS Broken Schrader Valve on Fork
Carbon_One replied to kj5ix's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You should be able to use any tire valve stem valve. Larry OOPs, I think you need the entire valve assembly. Yamaha lists it as a air valve - part # SKU: 4V1-23184-L0-00 CAP, AIR VALVE 1 $2.93 BTW what rake tree company did you use ? -
I agree. Hopefully next year. Larry

International Rallye Travelling Companions
Carbon_One replied to bongobobny's topic in Watering Hole
I'll be traveling US - 12 Sunday. The old Detroit-Chicago road which back in the day was somewhat like Route 66. No slab riding. That route is scenic with small towns dotted along the way. Approximate distance is about 200 miles from my place. A very leisurely ride of about 4-5 hrs. at average speeds of 50-55 mph depending on stops. Carl's route should be nice too as that would be mostly, if not all countryside riding, especially if skirting the bigger towns. Anyhow if anyone wants to join up with us their more than welcome. Anyone out there with a Midnight drivers seat who is looking to have Rick Bulter do his seat mod let me know as I'll trade you even up. While the Mrs loves her seat mod Rick did to the passenger seat I've found that I really prefered the firmer original drivers seat. My bike has the studs on the seats so will require the same when trading. Thanks, Larry

I think they were dropped in favor of the now current ones in the VR store. larry

Guess that would be classified as a hang fire Dan, Ya think? flb_78 that would explain a lot on that gun now. Probably wrong powder there and too much at that. Larry
-
WOW that certainly would get ones attention. Certainly happy to know the owner is OK with nothing more then some minor injuries. Of course the owner probably won't be able to repair/replace that gun under any warranty claim from the ammo company. Other then rolling my own ammo I always stick with reputable companies and seeing these photo's just reinforces those opinions. Larry

TuffTom your post is still there and not deleated as you think. It's just buried a bit since it's been over a week when it was posted and the last response was later the same day, June 17th. So no need to leave just yet over this. Just my homble opinion, Larry
