  1. WOW. No way would I want to drive there. Getting dizzy just following the cameras. The number of people killed there is outragious on top of all that. And to think our major cities are bad!!! Larry
  2. hmm seems to be a story in the telling here?? Fess up guys. Larry
  3. Nice trailer and love the pin stripping too. Larry
  4. Congratulations on thinning the heards. Well I'm sure you don't eat the horns anyhow, besides you'll have some tender eating there. Larry
  5. Taking up some slack in the cables will allow it to engage sooner as well. Even then I generally hit set and accelerate as a 1-2 operation. Don't let the throttle slack off as soon as you hit the set either. Hold it steady till you feel the throttle engage. Larry
  6. Love the Ice Road Trucker series so will be watching the Dangerous Roads as well. Larry
  7. Brad I tend to agree with you some on the trunk lines but I also believe that once the trunk is painted and leather work finished it'll all blend in well. Size is good. A Harley trunk would of been about the only other option IMO, besides a Yamaha one of course. But those are as rare as hens teeth & expensive to boot when you do find one. Larry
  8. I've looked at the Hannigan triked bikes to see about building a lift adapter but due to the way its's done it would tough. Even then you still need to get a conventional jack under it and lift it up high enough to attach any adapters. I think that it's just simpler to jack one up and then place safety stands under the framework. Or spring for one of those nice lifts Monty linked. But as noted not cheap. Larry
  9. Yea that. Larry
  10. Thanks for the update Don. As always you're in our thoughts, prayers, & wishing nothing but the best of excepted outcome on this problem. Looking forward to the day you report you're done seeing the doc's on this eye problem. Larry
  11. Hey Monty you did good getting a sweet car like that for your Dad. Sad of course he has to hang up his bike keys but knowing he's safer is much more important. Enjoy those wheels with him in his last years on the road. Larry
  12. WOW Joe that certainly isn't the news one wants to hear. Hope your insurance will cover most if not all of the lost items. Good luck on all that. Larry
  13. I'm also good with whatever weekend is chosen. Do what is best for you I would say. No matter which day is picked there's going to be people who can't make it that want to. Those traveling from long distances will also benifit from the extra day as you noted. Larry
  14. Home Depot and Lowes carry them Larry
  15. Guess you'd call that a rude wake up call. LOL My guess is the driver have the cruise control set on and seeing as it's on a freeway probably doing at least 70 mph or more. Good thing there wasn't anyone else in the vechical. Larry
  16. Pics we need pics Oh have fun too Larry
  17. Hey maybe we could do that at Don's MD next year. Only problem is it might agitate the pond monsters. Larry
  18. hahaha That's going to leave a mark. Larry
  19. Talk about having a death wish. Sure was excepting to see him get squished . Larry
  20. Besides what Squidley & Goose has said you can drop in a V-Max differential and that'll put the power band back where it's needed. You'll add about 500 rpm at 70 mph doing that. Hannigan trikes use the 3:73 gearing (same as the V-Max) and Tri-Wing uses a 3:42 gearing which is what I have. I am considering opting for a 3:73 gearing this winter but undecided at the moment. As Squidley says I generally have to downshift to keep the engine bettween 3 & 4 k to keep it happy on hills. Oh the trike weighs in at an additional 400 lbs so I'm hauling another 200 over you. Fuel econemy does take a hit but I can get anywhere from mid 20's to mid 30's depending on whether I'm towing my trailer and sppeds being run. Hope this helps, Larry
  21. Show em these pics & links
  22. Or you can get this one as well. http://www.repairmanual.com/online/official-1999-2010-yamaha-xvz13-royal-star-venture-factory-service-manual-lit-11616-12-60/ I use the book myself as it's easier using it in the garage. Larry
  23. Thanks for this link. I may order a pkg of them to put on my lift adapters. Kind of dress them up a bit. Larry
  24. You guys running those Metlezers are really really pushing your luck. If you value your life you'll put something else on right away regardless of what the thread life looks like on them now. At the speeds PGunn was running he's very lucky that tire didn't blow. Larry
  25. Too bad you're not closer or I'd check them out for you. Maybe another member nearby could look at them for you if you don't feel up to the task. Or get it up to Muffinman's shop. At least with him doing the work you know it'd be done right at a fair price. Larry
