  5. Great thread . I say let him decide on what path to go after running this one a full summer as is. By then he'd probably have named her if not sooner and will know in his heart the path this #6 will take. I also want to acknowledge DenDen/Denny and the previous owner who had kept excellent records of all maintenance and improvements to the bike during their ownership. Wasn't just me anyhow. I'm happy in knowing that this 83 will have a long relationship touring the countryside taking Tip & Puc to wonderful places around the US. Maybe even Canada. Larry
  6. After having bypassed 2nd gear for so long on Tweaks now he'll really realize the bikes power. Now for him to add his personal touches.
  7. Well today my 83 left the stable for the last time. It was hardly ever ridden by me during the 4 or 5 years I had it, so made the decision to find someone who would actually ride it. I can safely say I found that person and know its in good hands. Scott / CowPuc now has it in his possession. With only 76000 miles on it, it has a lot of life left in the old girl for him & Tippy. Especially with Tweaks having over 300,000 miles. I'm sure folks will see him out riding the country side. Enjoy the new ride Puc. Larry
  8. We booked our room today as well. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. Larry

  10. Welcome back Dale.

  12. I've thought of getting some pin stripping done on the Slingshot. Haven't totally made up my mind but if Jay Bird was there at MD then that could sway me easily. Larry
  13. Nice chop Puc. My frost HD was a xlch like on your chopper. Can't remember the exact year , 68 or 69 I think.. Larry
  14. That's awesome Dave & Sue. Congratulations on your anniversary today. On another note my son got married yesterday. Another talented performers life wasted due to drugs. I saw a news clip saying he was treated for overdose just a few days before his passing.
  20. When I had my 09 /Hannigan trike I made a stainless steel plate that mounted to the trunks bottom. Doing that stiffened up the bottom preventing cracking. Then added some metal strips to the bikes rack. I can't remember exactly how far I was able to move the truck back (3/4" 1"-1 1/2"??) a couple hole spacing's I think. I did weld a nut to the bottom on the rear most holes thou. Another thing needed doing was adding spacers to raise the trunk because you'll need to clear the lip on the trikes body. Spacer height 1/2" 3/4"? The extra work was worth it cause Mrs. C-1 was a happy rider. LOL Thought I had some pics but didn't see them off hand. Ragtop69gs did this to their trike as well so he may have some pics too. It was a trial and error fitting for me to get the desired rearward movement and the height of the spacers needed to clear the lip of the body. Larry
  21. Hey Larry,, does Tweeks sister still have 2nd gear in her? 2nd gear problem was taken care of long ago. You'll be able to do wheelies hitting the 2nd gear bro. 70k something on the odometer. I've got the original shop manual that the previous owners documented all repairs and add ons. She's a standard so no class to mess with . More info send a pm or e-mail.
  22. Well Puc you know Dale has point about Tweaks getting tired. Like us she's not getting any younger you know. Now as you know I have her sis sitting in the garage and really wanting some road time. Since I've gone to the 3rd wheel and have pretty much decided to give up two wheeling she could really welcome a new owner. Someone to stretch her legs. Larry
  23. Well if you hadn't tried smuggling in ammo and getting caught doing so then you'd breeze right thru like the rest of us. Musta really hid that gun well cause they didn't find one. After that episode you're on their radar now. You could always go the long way too. Larry
  24. "quote" You are correct about the Slingshot. The ROLO system can also be used to align the Slingshots and I believe the steps are about the same as Spyders. I know it would require different adapters than I have, not sure if it also requires changing computer settings." quote " Yes the slingshot benefits from having a laser alignment done but in most cases reprogramming the computer isn't needed. Mike Loescher calls his system True Laser Track Alignment System for the Slingshots. Same system used for the Can Am's but they do use different hub adapters. On the Slingshot the rear wheel doesn't have any alignments, belt adjusting is done on the front sprocket. Polaris early in 2015 had a steering recall which mine was one had done. I wasn't entirely happy with the steering so had the laser alignment done. Made a huge difference on the highways. Beforehand steering was constantly hunting back and forth, after the alignment it was rock steady. Money well spent. Joyce & I really enjoy driving the slingshot. It helps that we're a lot more comfortable in it plus she can drive it too. Though licensed as a motorcycle here in Michigan it is classified as an "autocycle " so no mc endorsement needed, just a regular drivers license. Larry
  25. Dan lots of folks just take em off entirely. Bikes look good without them anyhow. Larry
