tsigwing replied to muaymendez1's topic in Watering Hole
Had em on my Suzuki Marauder and loved them. -

Is there one available for my 2005 RSTD? Yamaha doesn't show one, didn't know if one for a Vstar or Roadstar might work? -
I'd plug it and ride it.

I'm running 32 lbs in my BFG, nothing really to report. It just keeps going and going...

Exhaust Temperature
tsigwing replied to tsigwing's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
My bike rarely ever sits for more than a week. It is my primary commuting vehicle, so no it hasn't set. Hope to get a chance this weekend. It is running great, just a surprising drop in mileage. Added some B12 carb cleaner, hopefully if there are any carb issues, this may help. -
Well I was in Alice Springs in 08 for Anzac day. Was pretty cool.

My last two takes of gas, I have only gotten about 30 mpg in my 05 RSTD. I have consistently gotten 35-38 as long as I have had the bike. Changed plugs and air filters last year, oil is good, nothing different in the bike or riding styles. Took a laser thermometer to measure the exhaust pipes right where the come out of the cylinders. The front two, which are hard to get a reading on because of the shielding, I think I got ~250. The rears I can see the actual pipe and got ~650 on each. Wondering if I just haven't gotten a good reading on the fronts, or if I am actually having some firing issues. Will pull the plugs and check, but wanted opinions on exhaust pipe temperatures.

Wouldn't think so. I bought a set of brackets from the classifieds on here from a fellow member and modified them to fit my Memphis Shades fairing.

Poll on people that tried but didn't like darkside
tsigwing replied to CaptainJoe's topic in The Darksiders
If your going to start a poll, you should also includes those that have tried and like the darkside. I'm not going back. -
Have to disagree about storage with the time out. When set up there is a ton of storage inside the camper. There is an entire section with nothing in it. I also store stuff under the bed when set up. Lots of room.

Clutch ???
tsigwing replied to TearlessTom's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I replaced the clutch spring on mine with a PCW racing spring. Pretty simple to do and will eliminate any slipping issues. -
2005 RSTD Ultrastar
tsigwing replied to tsigwing's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
and I did install a very quick locking system because I was worried about it. Shouldn't have been as it has never moved while installed. -
2005 RSTD Ultrastar
tsigwing replied to tsigwing's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Why? Because it was cheaper to add a quick release fairing to my bike than to buy a new bike. That and I like to tinker. -
You should be fine. I added some 55w aftermarket lights, heated grips and heated vest during the winter and never had any issues. Should also add that my stock battery lasted until this year (5 years) and didn't actually crater, just one day this summer when it was really hot, and I stopped and restarted it in a short span of time, it had a hard time turning over, so I bought a replacement to not get stranded. I have a short commute to work (8 miles) and typically don't rev the motor real high. YMMV.

I drove both the Challenger R/T and the 2011 Mustang GT and I liked them both, but the wife like the Camaro the best. I liked them all, and probably the Challenger the most based on styling, but it is definately the slowest, unless you step up to the SRT8 and it is quite a bit more expensive.

With the All Season tires I had put on, Stabiltrak and traction control, it will be an all weather car (I hope). That or we all stay home when the weather gets too bad

My son is turning 16 this weekend, so he is inheriting the 1999 Jeep Wrangler that I use for bad weather transportation. I am getting my wifes 2004 GMC Sierra for my bad weather vehicle and the wife got... Its a 2011 Camaro SS/RS SS2, manual 6 speed with sunroof and factory Hurst shifter. Not a bad little commuter.
