  1. How about a picture of the entire DOT code along with the one you are talking about?
  2. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?14-Royal-Star-Venture-and-Royal-Star-Technical-Library-(-99-13)-READ-ONLY!
  3. https://www.fram.com/parts-search/ph6017a Yeah but... it is a cheaply made motorcycle filter. I do my shopping at Wallyworld also and they have the much better Fram CAR filter XG or TG 7317 filter. https://www.fram.com/parts-search/TG7317/ Wallyworld also now stocks (at least mine does) the much superior Hyundia/Kia filter made by Mann Hubble which also costs less than the 6017
  4. The Fram PH6017 is a motorcycle filter. If you are into Fram stuff, try their CAR filter TG or XG 7317 https://www.fram.com/parts-search/XG7317/
  5. If you are into Fram stuff https://www.fram.com/parts-search/XG6607/ then try the XG7317 https://www.fram.com/parts-search/XG7317/ It is the TALL version.
  6. Hunt for a 2018 Yamaha Venture... once you ride one of those the RSV will seem completely frigid!!! Arf Arf Arf Arf... yall knew that was coming....
  7. I'm here. Still have RSV. Need larger garage. Won't you help? Send money too.....
  8. I understand yall. I live in the 8th hottest city in the nation. San Angelo. go see where your city rates. https://247wallst.com/special-report/2019/06/17/50-hottest-cities-in-america-2/print/ Don't PRINT it, just cancel that function. Just took the link there to get rid of all the advertising so it is the story only. Don't CLICK anything, just scroll down. That way no advertising and no NEXT, NEXT, NEXT ad infinitum.
  9. they all suck fer 2up vs a RSV just due to better wind protection and more space for everybody on a RSV. Only the FJR has cruise. The strom...don't think so, The Kaw absolutely no cruise. The Kaw will raise your insurance rates since it is a 150hp missile.
  10. Ooops... unlike the VN900, the #1 reason why the SVTC does not require a throttle body sync is... IT ONLY HAS ONE THROTTLE BODY.
  11. There is no requirement for throttle body sync on the VN900 either, but, the ports and the air screws are there.
  12. Mine also only works in 4th & 5th. Studied the wiring diag for a few minutes. Can't figure out how it knows it is in 4 & 5th.
  13. Ok... Here IS the neatest thing since sliced bread. http://www.healtech-electronics.com/est
  14. Yamaha makes good parts. Go factory. https://www.shopyamaha.com/parts-catalog/parts/star-mcy?ls=Star&nw=yamaha-motor-company&dealernumber=#/Yamaha/ROYAL_STAR_VENTURE_-_XVZ13TFXCR_-_2008/FRONT_BRAKE_CALIPER or Partzilla or your favorite source. How did you determine what to pay for it then? The S model has chrome forks. Get the owners manual from Yamaha and goto the service schedule. Assume nothing has been done to the bike and be prepared to do it all.
  15. Fault code "4" would point towards "speed sensor". Check wiring, check speed sensor, etc... The wiring may be there but check up and down its entire length for breaks, If nothing found... check ALL wiring to cruise control unit.
  16. There is no shame in taking the machine to a real mechanic.
  17. I just wanted you to know that there was one more person sharing in your grief.
  18. The Metzlers only work with Amsoil and the Dunlops only work with Mobil 1.
  19. Moly grease it and the spring perches as well.
