  1. I would be real interested in hearing more about that ROSTRA cruise control you installed. Also, I'm looking at a Versys 650 LT and a Vstrom 650 Adventure. Any thoughts comparing the two?
  2. You have a rock wedged in there keeping the stand from coming down.
  3. It was time to renew my bike insurance. I decided to get a quote from Markel Insurance at http://www.markelinsurance.com/motorcycle I got full coverage insurance for ONE YEAR with an upgrade to liability coverage over Texas minimums and $500 deductible on comp and collision for $173.00 period. I pass this on in the hopes it may save somebody else a buck or two. I have nothing to do with Markel Insurance other than being a new customer of theirs.
  4. As per the tsb available on here, I have grease on the terminals.
  5. Menieres Disease. Buckets of flonaise and decongestant do it for me.
  6. Facet Fuel Pump # 40178 has check valve and positive shut off/anti-syphon http://www.facet-purolator.com/cube-fuel-pumps.php FacetFuelPump40178.pdf CubeFlyer2011.pdf https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecId=7550&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=FAC-40178&gclid=CJ_auaSumc4CFQ-IaQodfHMPxw
  7. I use T6 5W-40 as well. I would recommend a clutch bleeding with new fluid assuming you don't need a new oil change. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?97279-Baking-Clutch-Fluid-Exhaust-Heat-Shield
  8. Please expand on this. Pictures, a write up with instructions, and DNA samples are what we need. Thanks!!!
  9. Check wires at starter solenoid. Check engine ground. Check battery connections. Check starter connections. Bad connections are the problem and maybe even the ignition switch. Kickstand has no effect on dash board lighting or gauges.

I would reply to this but I am too young to know what the word "COGITATING" means.
  11. DOT4 has better heat handling ability, is recommended by Yamaha, and just plain tastes better! Check out why your clutch fluid is darker on page 2 of the following thread by the Yamaha bulliten enclosed. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?97279-Baking-Clutch-Fluid-Exhaust-Heat-Shield Ignore the DOT3 usage in the bulliten as it was an old bulliten explaining clutch fluid color. DOT4 has supersceded 3.
  12. Try this. Pop the seat and disconnect the negative battery cable and isolate it. Properly charge the battery using a charger made for an AGM battery like the folks said above. When done charging, check the voltage. Come back an hour later and check the voltage again. Again, after another hour check the voltage again. If you see big drops like before, now that the negative cable is isolated, it really is the battery. This battery, as well as the two previous ones were probably killed by the "tender". Get a real AGM charger like folks said above. This one has been a favorite of mine now for a while and is available at WallyWorld. http://www.batterychargers.com/spas3/ http://www.batterychargers.com/content/pdf/0099001561-R0.pdf
  13. No, the stock Dunlop D404's that came on mine from the factory were load 74. See here http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?107652-Shinko-777-Tires and look at Mtirecompare.pdf for load ratings.
  14. I has access way back when to AV-gas. 106 Octane low lead. Ran it in two bikes occasionally. When they were on AV-Gas, I could full-throttle in top gear at 30 mph with absolutely no pinging. (high load-low revs) It did not make them faster. It did not make them use less fuel. It made it safer for the engine under high load on a hot day when my intentions were to bang the redline in as many gears as I could, for the four or five passes I was going to run. Otherwise, I ran regular. See the AV-GAS stickers below.

  16. careful reading the factory manual. use the nm reading for torque specs given. sometimes the ftlb measurements in the book are way wrong. like... 51 ftlbs on a 4mm bolt
