  1. I am saying yall are all wrong. 4 lamps in the sneak picture... means 4 cylinders. The lamps form a V. That means a V4 engine. Where's my checkbook?!?!?!?
  2. Gotta take the engine out. Might be able to do it with engine in, but would be more of a pain and you wouldn't get to do other stuff that needs to be done as well.
  3. Either of these offers in writing? A salvage title can only carry liability insurance in Texas.
  4. Hope you heal fast and painlessly slowrollwv.
  5. Puc... you are a Master Wordsmith. I would really enjoy it if time and geography would ever let us meet in person.
  6. The pin and the surrounding area.
  7. Give us a picture.
  8. I am getting 8000 miles out of them in the rear but I run heavy, fast, and in hot weather. I replace them when the wear bar still has a little tread on top of it. I don't run them to the cords. I like them because they are very sticky and don't sing to you when making high speed turns and they have a nice ride. Side benefit is that they are distributed by Western Power Sports to every dealer and online store. I got the same price from my local dealer as the best I could find with an online store. This helps build a relationship with dealer if tires ever go south. I just got another set in. These Shinko 777 tires are consistently the freshest brand tires I have ever bought. The DOT date on the rear is 4216. It is now March. These tires are about 3 months from being pulled out of the mold.
  9. Those lists that show tire options for the Venture are outdated with regard to Shinko Tires. The lists says to use a Shinko 230 series. The new tire to use is a Shinko 777 series. Heavier Duty, higher load range, more mileage tire. See here: http://www.shinkotireusa.com/tire/777 then hit the SIZES AND SPEC tab to see all available sizes and mucho more information
  10. No answer for you here, but I had a similar problem a long time ago when I had a Harley. The garage floor was spotless under the bike with no signs of a leak. At work, more often then not, there would be a little puddle of oil under the bike. One day the puddle was red?!?!? Come to find out my buddies at work were messing with me by putting a little oil under the bike. The day it was red was when they used transmission fluid to dribble under the bike cause they ran out of oil.
  11. This guy needs to go buy a lottery ticket right now. Why? Cause he is the luckiest guy in the WORLD!
  12. The thing I like about ebay is that if you move your mouse over the picture... things get larger.
  13. I just clicked on that link. I did not find a battery in that picture... Must've missed it. Hmmmm..
  14. I can get the nut off the drive pulley (front pulley on countershaft) using an impact no problem. I need to hold the drive pulley so I can get the nut back on and use a torque wrench on it. Was considering using a factory tool (pulley holder 57001-1572)... (I can get the "1672" off ebay for $40.00 but might not fit).. or making a barbaric bar like the one shown below, for about the same price in time and material. Or, if anybody had any tricks up their sleeve, might use their idea instead.
  15. I am looking for a Kawasaki Pulley Holder 57001-1572 and they are made out of unobtainium and I can't find one. There are a jillion 57001-1672 "ROTOR holders" out there on amazon and ebay. Is the 1672 an upgrade version of the 1572 that will fit the drive pulley of a VN900? Or, has anybody worked on a VN900 and what did you use to hold the pulley? I won't use the belt and brake to do it. Thanks!
  16. too freaking cool

  18. Ya know... those folks said that stuff 8 years ago this thread is so old. I don't run diesel oil in my stuff anymore, I use spaceship oil now....
  19. Group 31C (for 31 Commercial). Trucking outfits and Sams club have em.
  20. Please re-read. We know the 14610 and 14612 won't work. The 14459's work just fine.
  21. Not me. All's well here.
  22. I am impressed that the rotor is not messed up. New parts that you mentioned should get you going again.
  23. Uhhhh... Ooops! See here instead: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/photopost/showproduct.php?product=61&title=first-gen-mki-heavy-duty-clutch-springs-upgrade-kit&cat=17
