  1. The 10" of water along with a good rain soaking makes me suspect wiring that needs to be checked. Unplug from the rear coils all the way back and clean/dry/wd-40/then dry the wiring. Check battery wiring and grounds. Check the starter solenoid/main fuse and make sure they are clean and dry.
  2. I agree with what everybody else on here is telling you to do to fix your lawn tractor. But, here is a novel idea... buy a new one! Here is a 200hp lawn muncher complete with Hoosier racing slicks. I bet you can mow your yard in ...say... less than half the time it used to take you, as it will still cut grass up to 55mph. https://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/honda/riding-the-cbr1000rr-powered-honda-mean-mower.html
  3. The windshields are different. If you got the whole kit from a 2007 including mounts, it would then fit your 96.
  4. I replaced my clutchspring due to slippage when my bike had 5952 miles on it. MUCH BETTER!. I reinstalled the half plate later because I wanted my old clutch lever feel back but with still no slippage. Click below for writeup that includes some pics. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?99519-Clutch-Upgrade-using-Skydoc_17-Kit
  5. Nope. Your engine and/or clutch is sick and/or your brakes are dragging badly. Standard diagnostics would apply. Yamaha says it will average 39. I get about 31-35 on E10 gas @ 2000 ft above sea level.
  6. Well exactly. I took the bait and Ventured a guess that it would be a V-4 just by the looks of the headlamps also. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?129167-Yamaha-Part-three/page2 post number 22
  7. "listed top speed"!?!?! You mean you have not actually tried it out yet?
  8. Did somebody say RSV4..........
  9. Wild shot in the dark... Clogged Air filters. Air leak in intake system. Rotten carb diaphragms. Bad float level Clogged Main jets. Weak fuel pump. You have to start ripping it apart and might as well start with the air filters/air intake system.
  10. Free PDF's of the owners manual are available from 2000 and up at Yamaha at: https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/motorsports/owners-manuals The oldest version Yamaha keeps onhand is the 2000 version at: https://dd5394a0b8ca8e97ba29-abf76f3d91a2125517d6c7c409f095c7.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/content/common/manuals/2000/LIT-11626-13-31_154.pdf
  11. ??? Whut the.... Well, no magic adjustment I know of. Check the usual electrical stuff. Battery, wiring, fuse, pop the top off the fairing and make sure all connections are clean and tight. No pinched wires, etc. I hope somebody else knows the magic.
  12. Thanks for your reply. I think I may have confused some by asking if upper level devices talked inter-species while the answer given was that the upper level device talked to the end unit with no problems. My bad for failure to get that out more clearly. Iphones don't talk to Androids without a 3rd party software shim. By the design of Apple to protect their $$$. Android will yak with anything by design of Open Source that Android is based upon. But on END-UNITS like the TC, they are designed to Bluetooth with Apple or Android (sometimes better with one more than the other) and use a feature set of each that Yamaha programs into the Head unit. While I assume that at least the minimums of each Bluetooth protocol of Apple & Android are/is supported. Yamaha can add/remove feature sets of Apple/Android by software update of the Head Unit. I am kinda thinking the TC/Eluder is Apple CarPlay biased but have not read up enough yet on it to know. On a separate subject... One of the reasons I like the Cardo's is they do it all and have the newest MESH Bluetooth package on top of full Android & (blech) Apple support. A step towards "future proofing" https://www.bluetooth.com/specifications/mesh-specifications/
  13. Ok, I am starting to wonder if I should offer further assistance because I don't want you getting into trouble if you are not mechanically inclined. Pumping the rear suspension up will raise seat height but not swingarm height. May change the angle a little but not much. Pumping up the forks may give you a little height but not much. Carefully push the bike onto two separate boards one for the front wheel and one for the rear wheel and have your board ready at kickstand position. This will give you the height in the middle to get your jack under the bike.
  14. How about that. After 9 years Apple is finally letting users insert an USB flash drive to move files back and forth and as of July IOS 13 Itunes will be dead. Here is a snippit.
  15. Thanks! I saw "Iphone". Ya know you can't even get an Apple phone to bluetooth to anything Android, while an Android unit will talk Bluetooth to anything that will listen to it. Does the TC work with Android stuff?
  16. Stick a 2 X 4 under your kickstand and it will give you the room to get the jack under the bike with the adapter already attached to the bike.
  17. Well... it was fun while it lasted.. Version 2.9.11 of Imazing is now crippleware. Yeah, I know I could go back to Itunes since it is free, but that is why stuff like Imazing was invented is because Itunes is such a pain in the *&$. But now, at least Itunes is a free pain in the *#$. I'm junking all this apple stuff and going to a Cardo... What do you TC & Eluder guys use to transfer music/data? Does a TC or Eluder use a SD card? Or, Do you Android Bluetooth it or Apple Bluetooth it to the head unit from your phone/device?
  18. If yours is like mine it will not foul the spring. If you HAVE to take off the spring, stick a dime into each coil then put the kickstand up and the spring will fall off.
  19. But, I really like white... Guess I ain't going to California anytime soon. And..back on topic... yes, when in Rome. I also believe in a Helmet State the Slingshots have to wear helmets. There was even a long drawn out battle here in Texas before they could sell the things trying to figure out what to classify them as. I bet Polaris does not want to face a back step on them being a "motorcycle" because of a helmet issue and that Polaris would say wear a helmet in the helmet states.
  20. Which vent hose? Can you show us a picture?
  21. Ok, RESIDUE is what you said. Not liquid oil right? "Residue" is ok. Liquid oil is not. If you have liquid in your airbox I am going with @videoarizona on this one as a blocked air vent. The oil is vaporizing and allowed to go up but when condensed, is slow to go back down. Check for a blockage. I live in Texas so I know a little something about heat. I run 10W-40 and on long trips at cruising speed I will even get a hint of oil mist out the breather tubes to the airfilters and I notice this because I clean the air filters every oil change, (blow off the big bugs at least) . I am talking about "residue", a couple drops, mist that has condensed back to liquid in the tubes and on the foam blockers in the leg guards, when I go slower than warp factor 1. Nothing to write home about. So... if you ride like a nut job in 100 degree heat at Warp 7 like I do, "residue" found inside the airbox every 5 or 10 thousand miles is perfectly ok. Here is how to check the breather. In fact, on some bikes, you have to dump out the LIQUID oil from the airbox reservoir every 4K miles or so and this is part of regular maintenance and applies to bikes that have the correct oil level.
  22. That is what I am trying to tell you. It has always been an industry wide problem. My dealership that is multi-brand and has a zillion dollar building was still mounting tires using soap and water until I threw a hissy fit about three years ago. Discount Tire (in my city) uses a tire lube for all tires that is loaded into all their machines that says right on the bottle, "NOT FOR USE ON ALUMINUM WHEELS". Michelin thought enough about this problem several years ago to produce a TSB about it and this was for shops mounting $1800.00 tires on $3500.00 Alcoa wheels. Hamfistednes is everywhere. here is another article if you choose to read it. https://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/a3894/nitrogen-in-tires/
  23. Wildly fluctuating tire pressure. Tires mounted using soap and WATER will experience wildly varying tire pressure. Soap/water destroys aluminum wheels even though dealers will say "gee we have never had a problem using it. That is because they have not seen 20 year old rims destroyed by soap mounting the tire. The water causes varying tire pressure and makes the use of nitrogen impossible. Your tire, for your load range, for your bike, should not be heating up 40 degrees to cause a 4psi increase on a 75 degree day. Dry your tires out. Deflate/inflate them once a week for the next few weeks and you will experience less varied tire pressure. Next time use this stuff to mount your tires. https://www.nomartirechanger.com/Tire_Lube_Paste_1_Pint_Jar_p/sp-lube-pint.htm enclosed is a michelin tire bulliten about the explicit use of the correct tire lube. MichelinTireLubeTB_Bulliten.pdf I am hoping the ride-on does not contain water....
  24. This is called a "PryDriver" :thumbsup2:
