I have a heavy wire with plug located in my left side saddlebag which I've been told is for an optional CD player. Since I don't ever plan on installing one, can I just cut that wiring off to get that plug out of the bag or will that mess up something else.

Does this guy and his ride look familiar Getting so you don't even have to get on Venturerider.org to catch a shot of this guy.......Was paging thru some photos at the Rebel Road event in Muskegon, Michigan and look what I found.

Update - Picked up bike from dealer today and it appears the cure was worse than the malady. Turns out the ignition bypass unit I installed this spring shorted out and melted the plug at the red wire connection, pictures attached. Have no idea what caused this, been running with the unit installed for some time but it's obvious this was the problem. Dealer removed unit, plugged the factory connectors back in and power immediately was restored to the bike. He tested the switch and battery also and turns out I needed a new battery but the ignition switch is fine at this point. Some days it doesn't pay to get up in the morning.

Will be watching for an update on this....would definitely like to take the opportunity to meet you and others who might attend.

Unfortunately, dealer didn't have chance to tear into things yet, hope to hear something Monday. Passed all suggestions on to him, thanks to all [emoji106]🏻. Stay tuned for further developments [emoji102].

Actually, yours is the one I bought and installed.

Puc - Don't have a keychain, just use a lonesome old key in the ignition.

Actually have a "plug and play" relay installed, bought it on this site....[emoji106]🏻

Thanks for the thought Eck, I'm sure dealer will check that.

Nope, first thing I checked. Had that happen at a stop light once and I learned a lesson.

Decided to take a little ride this afternoon and got about a mile and a half from home when the bike went dead. Pulled over to side of road and tried to assess the problem - no power to ignition, lights, horn, etc. but did have power at the radio and GPS plugged into the DC jack in the fairing. Since I had an appointment in less than an hour, called my dealer who is only 3-4 miles away and he showed up with a trailer within 20 minutes or so and took the bike back to his shop. Hope to hear news tomorrow am but in the meantime, any thoughts on my problem ?? Sounds to me like a fuse issue but didn't want to tear into things on the side of a busy road.

Scott - Though we haven't met, I feel I know you personally thru reading your posts here. My sincerest wishes for a speedy recovery and successful treatment. It takes a lot to keep us Michiganders down, especially the western version.

My 09' RSV was off 5 mph @ 60. Purchased and installed a SpeedoDRD, set it for the correction factor, and now my speedometer is right on when compared with my GPS.

I just had to set my bike down in a parking lot
mirider replied to CMCOFFEY's topic in Watering Hole
Did the exact same thing in a parking lot a month ago.....bars turned and lost speed, over I went. Thank god for crash bars ! -
Thanks Mike, appreciate your response but at this time, I'm more interested in this particular kit since it has the option of switching back and forth between standard or trike mode and the cost is less than half for the Voyager over the Hannigan. Hopefully some Voyager owners will chime in.......

Considering adding Voyager kit to my 09' RSV and looking for guidance from those that have added this kit to your Venture. Have read both positive and negative comments and would like some real world feed-back. Age and wife's health have got me seriously considering the three wheel experience, especially with the weight of my bike. Love it, but beginning to question my ability to handle it comfortably in the long haul. There is a local dealer here in the Grand Rapids, MI area......M.C. Solutions. Any feed-back on them ?

Nice report.....been there done that many times. My roots are in the UP (my dad's family lived in Ironwood) and I've spent a lot of time up there. Made the mistake of taking my bride up there on our honeymoon in April.....the UP was closed ?

Noted last fall when I bought my ride that the speedometer was off and read faster than actual speed as registered on my GPS. Searched for speedometer correction on line and ran across the SpeedoDRD at a reasonable price ($70) and with good reviews. Ordered one and installed it yesterday with a correction factor of 6.7% as calculated on their site and took a test ride to see what I had. Happy to report my speedometer is close to right on when compared with the GPS so I am a happy camper.

DW got me a helmet headset and one of my sons gave me a custom Venture travel cover.

If you get over to the Fredricksburg area, Granite Mountain north of town is a neat experience and Luckenbach is a short drive as well as th LBJ National Park.

Finally got a chance to pick up my Tag-Along trailer from Harbor Freight yesterday, with friends and family discount of 25% off....paid $302 with tax. Great deal and looking forward to putting it together when we get back from the sunny south in March. Thankful this thread offers lots of tips and info on the build.
