Carb sync confirmation
mirider replied to videoarizona's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Will have to try that next time out.....never worried about my carbs since my bike has run great since I've had it but who knows. -
Actually, there are three of four locales in Michigan that go by that name. Don't blink or you will miss them all.......

Have always been intrigued by the statement that the w/s should be at a height that you can see over..... In my view, the w/s is there to protect you from the wind, bugs, road debris kicked up, etc. and if you can see over it, it fails at those criteria. Guess it's really a matter of personal choice.

@cowpuc - As usual, your pics and video really capture the essence of an event and are much appreciated for their information and entertainment. Thanks for documenting the event yesterday but, one complaint on this end. Didn't realize my wife of 51 years, Sue, had left me and helped Drews commit bigamy as you introduced her as his wife and......she didn't correct you. OH THE INHUMANITY !!! Will chalk it up to confusion on your part as I'm sure you were addled by the fact the location scheduled for the event WASN'T THERE !

Dion - Just a follow-up on the failed relay replacement.....Have had the new one installed for quite a while now and no problems. Guess we have to chalk the first one up as a fluke. Thanks again for standing behind your product.

Thanks eagle eye - I see you are in Sauk City. Our grandson we visited lives in New Lisbon and we stayed in Mauston for four nights, not too far from you. We were in Baraboo last Saturday, looks like that's even closer to your location.

Arrived home today from fantastic trip to Wisconsin, crossing Lk. Michigan on the carferry and returning via the lakeshore route in the UP. Logged about 900 miles, bike ran great, and no rain except for one day in Wisconsin motel. Sorry @cowpuc, never stopped for any pasties this trip and didn't see the shop you talked about. A few pics attached of our ride thru the UP. Rest stop along hwy 2 Cut River Bridge Hwy 2 Mackinac Bridge shrouded in fog Crossing the bridge

There are so many good pasty shops up there, it is hard to pick a favorite......have tried most of them. Think the best I've had is a place called Lawry's on 28 near Ishpeming. Also had some good ones in the Munising area. There are so many shops along both 2 and 28, I think I know the one you are talking about but can't think of the name. Will keep my eye out for it when we pass thru next week and maybe even bring a couple home. [emoji1][emoji106]🏻

@cowpuc - pretty much decided to head home via the UP route....only about 400 miles to the Mac bridge from here following the lake shore route which I love. Will save the Chitown traffic experience for a later date. [emoji33] Thanks for clearing the way with the esteemed weather gods. Actually, I prefer my pasty with ketchup. [emoji106]🏻

As shown made it to Wisconsin today and settled for the nite in Mauston, our home for the next four days. Shared the SS Badger this morning with 6 other bikes and 1 trike, mostly Harley's. Loved the conversation with the two in front of me...they had no idea where they were going, just riding. Leaving Ludington behind. Beautiful day for crossing, sunny and calm seas. Oh, and bikers are some of the first vehicles off. [emoji106]🏻 Entering Manitowoc harbor.

Appreciate the comments but I have been to every attraction in the UP, and there are many, numerous times. Copper Harbor is one of my favorites. Won't be going that far north this trip but do have friends with a home on Lake Michigamme who we may stop to see. Have taken the Mac bridge by car, motor home, and motorcycle before....great experience. I'm the son of a Yooper and consider myself one too. [emoji106]🏻

Thanks Zag, kinda partial to the UP anyway as my dad was born and raised in Ironwood. Was up there a lot as a kid and even took my bride up there on our honeymoon in April.....it was closed ! [emoji3]

Thanks for the tips on the routes thru Chicago, driven thru there in a cage many times but a little leery of poking my head on 80, 94 or any other freeway on the bike. Have a cousin southeast of Joliet and it appears I can circumvent Chicago if I do go that way. Leaning toward the UP route as traffic and beauty are a little more appealing. Don't have to decide til next Monday as that's the head back day. Made Ludington about half hour ago and settled in a motel for the night. Up @ 6:30am for quick run down to the boat docks and off we go........

Heading out this afternoon for a visit to the Badger state on the Badger. Taking the carferry out of Ludington tomorrow am heading over to Manitowoc and then a short scoot over to New Lisbon for a visit with our oldest grandson who was recently married. First trip on the carferry since I was a kid growing up in Ludington and certainly a new experience with the bike. Still trying to decide whether to come back thru the UP or around Chicago way. Do not really want to experience Chitown traffic but the UP route is 200 mi. further. Will post pics and commentary while underway.

Have you ever had thoughts of hanging it up on riding?
mirider replied to Eck's topic in Watering Hole
Like all activities, there comes a time when you just know it's time to hang it up. I've always felt when the pastime I was heavily involved with became to much for me to handle, it was time to quit. Had a boat on Lake Michigan for 18 years and finally tired of cleaning and maintaining it. Had a motorhome for 10 years and finally got tired of the cost and mtce. required. Fortunately, I still love riding a bike and the recent trike kit I added has extended that pastime for the foreseeable future. -
