1. Here is a close up of the bracket. I didn't have a way to make the necessary bends so I made 3 tabs to weld on the top plate of the floorboard cover. One tab has a hole that aligns with the rear mounting bolt of the floorboard, the second one fits against the front of the floorboard and the third on bolts the arm to the assembly. I then aligned it with the floorboard and drilled down through the plate and floorboard and put a stainless steel bolt down through it to secure the front of the plate. Ron
2. Finally settled up with the insurance after the deer hit us and totalled my 99 Venture. Thanks to Dave for the heads up on another 99 Venture for sale, was surprised with the condition and less than 48,000 miles. Brought it home today before the rain started and began transferring necessary parts to make it comfortable enough to ride the rest of this season. Will make it ours over the winter. Here are a few pictures of the way I bought it. Ron
3. I guess the heading is misleading, it was about 7:00 PM and still plenty light out when it happened .
4. Tina and I was out for a nice ride last night when a deer came running off the bank and hit us on the left side off the fairing and dumped the bike. We were very fortunate that we were able to stay with the bike for the first 75 feet or so then came off about five feet before the crash bar dug in deep enough to flip the bike to the other side. Thankfully no broken bones just road rash. Ron
5. Just got home from the rally. Tina and I had a great time catching up with old friends and meeting some new friends. Thanks to all who made this great rally possible, looking forward to next year. Ron

Horns

Here is the horns that I mounted in the V of the engine on both sides. I just used 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 1/8" aluminum angle and cut it to fit around the end of the twinkie cover and used the end bolt to secure it. Ron

Horns

Chuck, You're right that was very loud, I'm just glad it was his right side tire and not his left because it started flying apart right away. Ron

Horns

The two stebels that I now have on my bike are definitely louder than the two wool horns that I had on it before. Ron
9. We pulled in at about 4:30, rained the last 130 miles or so. Thanks Don and Eileen for allowing us to join in on a great time. Enjoyed catching up with some old friends and making some new friends. Looking forward to the next event. Ron
10. I've been trying to locate replacement lower tinted wind vent replacement, couldn't find any so I made my own. Also Tina wanted passenger pegs to allow different leg positions for long rides. Since diamond R went out of business I decided to make my own. Below are finished photo's of both. Ron
11. Chuck, We are heading out Thursday not sure exactly what time yet, probably around lunch time since I work Wednesday night and don't get off work until 8:00 am. Hopefully we hook up for the ride. I still have your number I'll give you a call sometime soon to see if our plans will allow us to hook up for the ride. Ron
12. We are staying at Red Roof Inn and Suites. Ron
13. Yes I did.
14. Might have been me on the second gen this morning, I was on my way home from work. Ron
15. I have the vents just looking for replacement tinted plexiglass part, mine is scuffed.
16. Where can I replacement tinted plexiglass for the Yamaha adjustable vents that bolt to the crashbar on second gens. Ron
17. I had a 150 on for about the first year and a half that I owned the bike, but then decided to try the commander II tire since I could no longer get the avon venum X that i had been running. I had the leveling links on that raised the rear of the bike when I first installed the 130 and did notice a little less stability on the highway but the overall handling was much improved. I then removed the leveling links and went back to stock rear height and the stability is just as good as with the 150. I since have lowered the front 3/4" by sliding the forks up in the triple tree and lowered the rear by 1/2" and I think the combination is the best the bike has ever handled. Probably about 40% of my riding is two up and traveling with either my trailer on storage box in the hitch installed and have no complaints about the handling of the bike at any speed. Ron
18. I won't run anything but Michelin commander II tires anymore, got 19,500 miles out of my last rear tire and could have probably got anther 1,000 but had a 1,700 mile trip planned and changed it before we left. They also handle great in the rain. Ron
19. The bleeder and square rubber cap is actually on the left side of the engine..
20. Our prayers are with you and your family. Ron and Tina
21. I have a repaired shock from Dave on my bike, because of rain and temps I only have about 500 miles on it, but so far I like the ride and handling better than the hagon shock I had on my bike. Thanks Dave
22. I'm on my second set of commander II's. I got 19,000 out of the rear and 24,000 out of the front. I rode in the hardest rain that I have ever ridden in before just before changing the front tire and not one slip. I will never run anything but commander II's from now on. Ron
23. The f4 shield does not follow the contour of the fairing. Ron
24. Thanks to the WNY rally committee for putting on a great rally again this year. Tina and I had a great time again this year catching up with some old friends and meeting some new friends. If you have never attended this rally or its been a while you really should make plans to attend next years rally, you won't be disappointed. Ron
25. Craig, Did compression check and found a couple cylinders pretty low compared to the other two. Since it has about 150,000 miles on it, figured I would replace it this winter with a lower mileage motor and go over everything. Tina and I Iove the bike and want to keep it, so might as well make sure it will last. Ron
