Met a nice gentleman and his lady tonight, he was riding a 09 RSV and it sported a real nice rear tail/brake light bar. He bought the bike with it on and thinks it was a Yamaha product. I installed a set of (Samson I believe) fishtail slip ons, they are about an inch and a half longer than stock and the oder is gone. They sound good to.

I have a bell on my other bike that was gifted from a friend in Canada, he took it from his bike to put on mine. The previous owner of the RSV said not to remove the penny from the saddle bag, I didn't ask why but it will stay put. The RSV will hopefully have one gifted cause the power doubles.

Is it safe to say if I don't have ticking on start up then I don't need to check the valves this winter? Bike is a '99 RSV with 37K miles and the previous owner said he never had the valves adjusted, he got it with 4k miles on the clock.

Apparently this gentleman sells/mods seats. He offers different designs and materials. Has anybody used him or know of his work? I am leaning towards having the butler mod done but I like the way the pillow top seats feel, so by the time I buy a set of pillow tops used (if I can find them) and have them re-worked it may be more economical to get them from here. After almost 14 years we had to put down our cairn terrier on 9/11. Bernie didn’t want hugs and kisses, just a belly or back rub would do, we joked he that he had rigor mortis when picked up he was so stiff except for the day we brought him home. Your head is in the right place. Her guy needs to man up and talk with you folks. I too have a young adult daughter and can sympathize with you. These young bucks these days act all bad with their buddies but don't have the courage to meet the parents that just reeks of disrespect. Just my 2 cents. It's a exhaust smell not gasoline, unless what your meaning it's making the bike run richer? I will be replacing the intake boots under the carbs, they have cracks but I don't believe they are all the way through, squirted some starting fluid on them while the bike was running and the engine did not speed up. I picked up a set of fishtail slip-ons I will first install them and see if it helps, if not I will put the original real tall windshield on. It is not an issue with the 5" tall shield cause all you get is wind.

Love the iso grips on on the v twin but only my throttle hand gets numb with the stock yammy gips. What gives? Maybe more spring tension of 4 carbs vs. 1 or the higher revs?

On my '99 RSV I detect exhaust fumes at speeds from 30 mph to over 80. The smell is not super strong but constant. The wife does not smell these fumes and her sensor is much better than mine. The only thing not stock is the extra wide show chrome 14" windscreen. Is the negative air pressure low enough to draw it into that envelope? Is this common on these bikes. I haven't gotten drowsy yet but the longest ride I've taken thus far is 225 miles.

Oops, It would be from a 2006 RSV.

Does anyone know if a rear wheel is a direct replacement for a 1999 RSV? (minus the rim color) I have seen someone pot a chrome front wheel on their RSV is that from a stratoliner and is it a direct replacement?

Pardon me if this question has been beat to death, searched and no luck. I have a 1999 RSV (Recently acquired) with OEM exhaust, I am acquiring a set of (Samson???) fishtail slip on's. Will the carbs on these bike need to be re-jetted for the different mufflers? Does anyone have these? Opinions on sound level and quality requested. Does anyone know of a picture on this site of an RSV with these fishtails? Regards, Motiv.
