  1. I used to be a member but no more. We have a motorcyle gang that goes around ganging up on people and beating them up. There was an instance where a 69 year old man was leaving the funeral of a member of the Outlaws and when he started to get on his bike a member of the gang hit him upside his head and knocked him off his bike. He was bleeding and when he got up there were 5 members of the gand standing around him with knives and brass knuckles. I was discussing this at a CMA meeting and they took up for this gang. I never went back and never will.
  2. I would be suprised in WBC shows up. They have met so much resistance the last few years that they just say they are. This past summer we had a marine that was killed. It was my first PGR mission and it was gut wrenching. The WBC posted on their web site that they would be at the church for the funeral services. I got all upset and called the ride captain for the PGR and he said don't let it bother you and ignore them. For the past two years they haven't been showing up. I know WBC is low down but I don't think even they would protest this funeral.
  3. I was traveling through Virginia this past summer. I was going down a road and I saw dust that was so thick you could barely see. It cleared a little and I saw a wooden fence with people sitting on top of the fence so thought, all right, they're having a rodeo but when I got closer I saw that they were trying to put shoes on a 16 year old boy.
  4. Hey Long Tail, You say Virginia is a conservative state but I don't think they recognize a concealed carry permit from Georgia.
  5. Hey Adventurer 08, I did the Richard Petty driving experience at the Atlanta Motor Speedway a few years ago and it was an awesome experience. You will have a good time. I learned to appreciate what NASCAR drivers go through. I can't imagine being on the track with a car on both sides about a half inch from you and a car in the front and rear about a 1/4 of an inch from you going 200mph or more. I went 8 laps and was completely worn out. Imagine going 400 or 500 laps. This brings a question. What do they do if they have to go to the bathroom? Good luck and have a good time.
  6. My father in law was an electrician and belonged to a union. We used to have some heated conversations. All I had to say was, "unions are the cause of most of the problems with our country," and he would come un glued. I have heard him brag about working, uh, showing up on weekends or holidays and getting double and triple time pay and going behind the building and goofing off all day. A friend of mine worked with the Miller Brewing Company here and he told me the number one reason for firing people at the plant was for sleeping on the job. Unions were needed when they were first organized but now they have gone too far.
  7. GEICO doesn't pay for safety clothing. They have to save money some where to pay for all that advertising.
  8. The street glide and ultra classic can't be the same bikes. I have two friends that had street glides because they didn't want geezer glides. Both recently traded for ultra classics and both say they didn't realize how smooth the ultra classic was compared to the street glide. Both said they thought the street glide was a smooth ride but they didn't know what they were missing with the ultra classic. The extra parts couldn't make the difference in the ride.
  9. Like I said, everyone has their likes and dislikes. Time will tell, but I don't think this bike will sell. I believe it will go the way of the harley v rod.
  10. Everyone has their likes but I don't like the bike. If I was going for that look I would buy a Harley street glide which is the look honda copied.
  11. I saw it on channel 37 but that may not be the same in other parts of the country. You can go to www.larider.tv and see the last few episodes.
  12. The last two sunday mornings while flipping the channels I have found a show title LA Rider. Wondering if anyone else has seen this. It's a female named TW riding a harley and touring Louisiana. I think I saw a midnight venture in the commercial for the show. Anyone know?
  13. I would hate to have to keep all those engines running.
  14. A friend of mine worked for NAPA auto parts for years and he said that of all the fuel treatments on the market seafoam was the only one that did what it says it will do. He said so many of them are snake oil but seafoam does work.
  15. Hey scarylarry, Is this why they call you scarylarry? The insurance companies I represent require me to carry a minimum of 1 million of errors and omissions insurance and I have to send them proof I renewed the coverage every year. This is required in case I leave off a certain coverage the customer wanted and I didn't provide. I can check a wrong block on an application and be held liable. Agents get sued every day and their E & O coverage pays.
  16. By the way. You can buy comprehensive only coverage and the $3,000 accessory coverage will pay only if the claim is a comprehensive claim.
  17. Hey SapperMedic, Sorry to hear about your loss and am glad you will be ok. I always wonder why anyone would deal directly with a company instead of dealing with a local agent you can see face to face. If there is a problem you can go to the agents office instead of waiting for the company to get the tapes from 4 years ago. The territory manager with progressive was in my office a few weeks ago and we were discussing this. He said the majority of the problems progressive has is with the direct side of the company with inaccurate quotes. The person that gives you the quote knows they will never see or talk to you again. They just need to make a sell so they can keep their job. People call me all the time saying they are trying to quote their coverage on line and want to know what a certain type of coverage is. I tell them to figure it out themselves but if they want someone that knows the coverages and can counsel them to come in the office. If I did buy on line or direct, the first thing I would do is to look over my policy when I received it to make sure I had the coverage I needed. Good luck. I hope you had collison coverage.
  18. Congratulations! Glad mother and son are OK. Know both of you are proud.
  19. There needs to be another catagory for the voting. I would NOT buy a venture. If I can ever get another bike it will be an 09 or later harley ultra classic. Yamaha couldn't do anything to the venture to make me get another one.
  20. If you look under features you will see the cassette listed. Someone on here posted a while back that they called on Yamaha USA and were told about the changes to the venture. I replied that it would be interesting to see if what they said was right when the 2013 was introduced. I can't find that thread. Does anyone remember what that thread might had been titiled? If I remember correctly, and I might not, they said there wasn't going to be a 2013 yamaha but the 2014 would be upgraded.
  21. I was on you tube looking for music and I thought of the movie easy rider that I saw when I was a senior in high school. I accidentally found a video that is so cool. If you go to you tube and type in "Henryk Rynkowski Easy Rider" you will see the video. It starts out with a harley davidson starting and then you see Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper riding in the movie. I think Henryk Rynkowski is polish and the writing on the video is in polish. My question is does anyone know how I might could get this music. I sure would love to have this song on my mp3.
  22. When agents or companies say the trailer is covered when attached to the bike, it is covered for liability when attached. The physical damage to the trailer would be covered by the accessory coverage provided by the policy. It's the same as pulling a trailer with a vehicle. The liability of the vehicle extends to the trailer. If you were pulling a trailer and it came loose the damage it caused would be covered by the liability, whether it was bodily injury to someone or property damage to someone's property. But remember the damage to the trailer is treated differently.
  23. I am a member and think it is a great organization. There are a lot of dedicated people that travel many miles to honor a fallen hero. You can't blame the PGR for some of the jackasses that ride that don't have enough of a brain to cover up some of their patches. I was on one mission and we had a flag line at the back of the church where the hearst was bringing in the fallen hero. In front of me was a scum bag that had a patch in the center of his back that said, "F**k You, I already have enough friends. How dispicable and disgracefull can you be. This guy has a business in town but you can bet your life I will never ever do any business with him. What you do on your own time is your business but what you do on your own time will reflect on your business. The guy has auto body repair shop and I have an insurance agency. Everytime one of my customers ask for a good body shop to go to I tell them not to go to his. I don't like being around the 1% ers but I understand sometime they show up but are respectful.
  24. I bought my 05 RSV new in september 05. My wife and I have had many good rides and good times. We have been to Key West, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Alabama. I hope to be able to buy another bike before I get too old but it won't be a venture. It will be an Ultra Classic. If I can't get a new one it will be an 09 or later. If the economy doesn't get better soon I won't get another bike. I am 61 and time is running out.
  25. John Boy and Billy!
