I bought the ed set adapter where you can plug in a set of ear buds into the yamaha sound system. The sound is 100 times better and you can use any helmet since there are no speakers to mount in the helmet. Your helmet will slip right over the ear buds. I have had several sets of ear buds and recently bought a pair at wal mart for $19.95 and the sound is the best I have ever heard. The head sets are red and made for people that work out and listen to music.

I know there are many threads about GPS's. I have a friend that purchased an 07 RSV and he would like a gps that you can plug into the venture's audio system and is bluetooth compatible so he can use his cell phone through the system. Any suggestions?

I've got to tell you a funny story about something that happened at the Angel City rally. I was there with two friends. It was during the day and we needed to go over to the portable toilets. One guy goes into the toilet leaving me and my friend outside. A member of the Outlaws comes over and goes into a toilet. After a while my friend points to one of the toilets and says isn't that the one Dale, our friend, went in. I said I think it is, so my friend goes to the toilet and starts rocking in back and forth. We thought this was so funny and laughed and laughed. A few seconds later Dale comes out but not from the toilet my friend rocked. We looked at each other and realized the Outlaw was in the toilet that my friend rocked. We looked like the three stooges running away as fast as we could.

I've never been to the milledgeville rally but have been to Angel City, Bainbridge and others. During the day most rallys are fairly calm. When it gets dark is when I don't want to be anywhere around. I'm no saint and like to have a good time but I am amazed at people my age that have never grown up. My neighbor works for budweiser and asked me if I would go to the Bainbridge rally and help him that weekend. I said yes and let me tell you I was shocked at the wackos that change from normal people at night. We rode around in a golf cart and passed out tee shirts and beads. I'm not going to even start to tell you what people will do. I would to a rally during the day but I wouldn't be there at night.

I need your opinions
ediddy replied to Pretty Hips McGee's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I'm going to give you an unbiased opinion from a friend of mine. We went to high school together and started riding honda 65's in 1967. He bought a 1999 goldwing a few years ago and we have taken many trips together. He sold the gold wing this summer and he called and wanted to know if he could come by with his wife and ride my venture. I told him sure and they did but he didn't seem impressed. He has been looking for a newer goldwing since. He called me this week and said he bought a 2007 venture. He said he had never had a bike that was so comfortable and he was more thrilled with the venture than any bike he has owned. He then said he couldn't believe the power the venture has and that he believes the 1300cc venture will out run any 1500cc goldwing. His wife also said she like the room she has on the venture and doesn't get the buffeting she got on the goldwing. I was surprised. I thought he was sold on the goldwing. -
There isn't a person in the USA that knows what will happen to the venture. The dealers won't know until it is introduced. Someone on here a couple of years ago said they worked with yamaha usa and were told there would be a new venture in 2012. It didn't happen. Any dealer that says they know if full of ssshady ideas.

That's why I nicknamed Lowes and call them slowes. Home depot called the police to me. Had a contractor remodeling my bathroom. Found a vanity at home depot. Brought it home the contractor installed and left. I filled the bowl with water and looked under the sink. There was a small leak in the bowl. Contractor came back and took the vanity out and I took it back to home depot. Exchanged it for another one. Contractor installed. I filled bowl and looked under the sink and it was seeping water. I went to home depot and got another one. They didn't have the color I had been getting so had to settle for something that I didn't like as much. Took the third vanity home. Contractor took vanity out and put back in original box and installed the third one. It didn't leak. Remember that each time I took a vanity back I had my home depot receipt and gave it to them. Saturday morning I take the vanity that leaked back to store. The clerk at returns said the vanity wasn't scanning on my receipt so they couldn't take it back. I told her that wasn't my problem and she better get someone over here now or there was going to be a problem. Another clerk came over and said same thing but because it didn't scan they would only give me an in store credit. I told her I didn't want an in store credit I wanted the charge put back on my credit card and there was a strong possiblity I would never be back. I then asked for manager. The assistant manager came over and said I would have to call the manufacturer and get them to give me an adjustment. I told him I didn't buy it from the manufacturer I bought it from home depot and home depot need to do what is right. The manager smarted off at me and I lost it. I slammed my hand down on the counter and told him this was the poorest excuse for customer service I had ever experienced. I yelled so loud two other employees came over like they were going to protect the manager. I yelled that I had a business and if I treated my customers the way they were treating me I wouldn't be in business long. The manager looked at the clerk and said call 911 and get him out of here. I left and a customer followed me out to my car and said you're pretty upset aren't you. I said yes and I don't need to get this upset. He said I heard it all and what they did wasn't right. Long story short I called home depots home office and got the presidents secretary on the phone and told her what happened. She said, "Oh my god" and to fax her my receipt and a receipt for what I paid the contractor and they would reimburse me for his charge also. It's amazing the people in retail that don't understand why they have a job. The customer.

Hey ragtop69gs, I'm not licensed in Michigan, only Georgia, Florida and Alabama. I wish I was. It is interesting how the rates vary from state to state. In Alabama GEICO almost gives the coverage away. Here in Georgia they are higher than Progressive. Speaking of Progressive they are the number one cycle insurer in the US. That's hard to believe with their outrageous rates. Well there is one reason. Progessive put a call center in the Harley Davidson Insurance Agency so Harley is writing everyone with Progressive. Foremost put in a bid for the call center but Progressive offered to put more money in the center than Foremost. When people go to buy a Harley all they want to do is buy the bike and go riding. They don't care about the insurance rates until the renewal date then they find they are paying double and triple than other companies and some of them change. But a lot of harley riders and dealers are arrogant and think Progressive is best. I called on the harley dealer in Newnan, Georgia and he told me "Harley riders want to know they are with a quality insurance company just like they are when they buy a Harley." I just bit my tongue and walked out.

Hey ragtop69gs, I have been an insurance agent for 40 years and specialize in motorcycle insurance. I represent 6 companies that insure motorcycles. These are companies that I have dealt with for many years. I represent progressive, foremost, dairyland, american modern, titan, formerly victoria, and american reliable. Your question was about foremost and their claims service. If I had to pick one company out of the 6 to represent I would pick foremost. Their rates are competetive and I've never had anyone that had a claim with them complain about the settlement. Also they weren't previously Bristol West. They have been foremost as long as I can remember. Bristol West is now foremost. Farmers Insurance Company bought foremost and bristol west and they are now one company called foremost. If I had to rate the worst company for rates and claim service I would say progressive. Their rates here in Georgia are outrageous and I have had many people with claims complain about their claims service. I am on a mission to replace as many progressive policies as I can. From March last year until July I sold over 100 new motorcycle policies and the majority of them were with progressive until I replaced them. By the way one of my insured's with foremost was on his 07 venture with his son on the back and he hit a deer two weeks ago. The deer came out so fast he didn't even see the deer before he hit it broadside. He and his son walked away with just a little road rash. Very lucky. Foremost has already declared the bike a total loss and paid the claim.

Too plain. Now I would love to have a yamaha raider. It has class.

My wife had the same complaint. I got the xlarge clearview with the vent but she still got a little bit of buffeting. Got the xxlarge clearview and she doesn't get any buffeting now. Have had the clearview for 7 years now.

Never. My wife and I have enjoyed our venture but I would never buy one again. If I can ever get another bike before I'm too old to ride it will be an ultra classic.

Hey spear, I was just going to put a post on here asking for suggestions. I have some vinyl albums from the early 80's that are in tip top shape and I was wondering if I could record them to cd or mp3. It's getting harder and harder to find old music. I was in the Ernest Tubb record shop in Gatlinburg, TN in october and was talking to the manager about old music and he said if there is any old music you want you better get it while you can because they are finding it harder to get old music. Some of you here might remember the Statler Brothers doing Roadhog and the Cadillac Cowboys. I found the Cd at Ernest Tubbs record shop about four years ago and mentioned this to the manager. He said to hang on to the cd because they can't get any more either.

Hey Flyinfool, I wrote a letter to the occupants of my old PO box asking them to please send the package to me. I got to work today and a package was in my mailbox. The people got my letter and put the package in my mailbox. I'm glad to know there are still some honest people in the world.

I will try to send pictures. I'm not too savy with all this technology but will try.

Hey tazmocycle, You are right about Alabama. They are about 20 years behind the rest of the country. The birds fly upside over Alabama because there isn't anything work crapping on down there. If all state would start removing the tags people would keep their insurance.

Detailed my bike saturday. Was a perfect day, 65 degrees and overcast so didn't have to worry about being in the sun. I used meguiars motorcycle EZ clean spray and rinse but wasn't impressed. Still had to use wet towel to remove some dirt. Will try S100 Total Cycle care next time and see if its better. Removed the saddle bags and seats and spayed the wheels with Pinnacle Clear Coat Safe Wheel Cleaner. This stuff did the job. Wheels look like new. However there were several clumps of what I think was a glob of grease that was baked on the wheels and looked like it might have etched into the metal. Tried everything I could think of to remove, even goo be gone, but nothing would remove it. Took some Never Dull Wading Polish and it took the grease completely off. Then applied Detailers Wheel Glaze to the wheels and removed with the Mothers Power Ball Mini Polisher. Wheels shine like new and are completely clean. Then sprayed bike with Pinnacel Crystal Mist Detail Spray and bike shines like new. This spray gives the bike a wet look and shines. Use S100 Engine Brightener on the black part of engine and rubber and vinyl. Then used Meguiars leather cleaner and conditioner on the seats. If it wasn't for a few dings from rocks and gravel hitting the front fender my bike would look like it just came off the showroom floor. I enjoyed doing this but wouldn't want to make my living detailing bikes.

In my agency we never, never use the word full coverage. In reality there is no such thing as full coverage. Full coverage would mean that everything is covered without a limit or deductible. I don't won't to be put on the stand in a lawsuit where someone didn't get all their bills paid and their attorney saying to me, Mr. Hall tell the jury "what is full coverage." Years ago, I don't know how long ago, the term full coverage was used to mean that you have liability and comprehensive and colllision coverage. Many times each day I give quotes over the phone and I ask people, "do want just the state required liability or do you want comprehensive and collision also? Every time they will say, I want full coverage, if they want comp and coll. After seeing the number of uninsured motorist claims we have I wouldn't drive without it. There is more to uninsured motorist than medical payments. It covers your loss for bodily injury. What if you couldn't work for the next year or rest of your life. Uninsured motorist would cover that in addition to medical payments and it will pay for pain and suffering. Some states provide uninsured motorist coverage only, meaning the other party at fault is uninsured. Some states have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. In Georgia you have the choice. I would buy the uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. As someone said underinsured will pay even if the other party is insured but their liability limits aren't enough to cover your loss. Last year I had a motorcycle insured with uninsured/underinsured. The rider was at a traffic light in the right lane. An auto came up in the left lane and decided to turn right from the left lane. Didn't seem serious, just knocked the rider off his bike. The other auto had $100,000 liability and they paid but it wasn't enough to cover my insured's damages. He just had his third shoulder surgery where they had to reconstruct his shoulder. He has been out of work for a year and may be out another year. His underinsured is now paying. Georgia has a mandatory liability law and the insurance companies transmit electronically to the state if you have coverage or let coverage cancel. There is a class of people that always try to beat the system. They buy insurance and never pay the first payment and let the coverage cancel. The state will send them a letter stating they must get coverage and pay a $25 fee to the local tag office. If they ignore this they will get another letter stating their registration has been suspended and they must pay a $60 fee. They won't get caught until time to renew their tag unless they get stopped for a traffic ticket. If they have to pay the fine to get their registration renewed, so what. That's cheaper than paying the insurance. But that is changing. Many LEO's are installing scanners on their cars that scan the tag when you go by and will tell them if your registration is suspended. Their vehicle is towed, they are arrested and I had a person in the office last week that said they were going to have to pay a $1,700 fine. This is getting their attention.

GEICO has got to pay for all the advertising. Also the policyholders paid for Warren Buffett to buy a railroad. Buffett has openly stated in insurance publications that an insurance company is one of the best cash cows you can own. You have all the money coming in to invest until you pay a claim. He is now complaining that with all the claims from storms he doesn't have the money long enough to get a good investement return. I had an auto insurance customer in my office last week that had been with gottago for 4 years and had an accident and their rate went to $400 per month. I gave them the same coveage for $175 per month. I have learned that if you advertise anything long enough people will buy it without checking around.

When I was going to use paypal with different cards they said to enter the other cards on the same account. When you start to place the order it list the info for the last credit card you used and if you are going to use a different card there is a drop down box that has the other cards listed and you choose which card to use. If it's a personal order I used my mc. If its a business expense I use the amex. You list the shipping and billing address for the card and it is stored in their system. So when I used my amex for this order it prefilled the card number and shipping and billing address. The order showed my address without the po box. But when paypal processed the order they somehow listed my name, street address and the old po box address. Their argument is that the po box was listed as my home address but when I ask them where to find my home address they take me back to the amex card which shows the street address. I have never entered a home address and the po box was never my home address. It was my business address. There is no way they will listen to you. When I ask where is my home address in the system they tell me to look at the address for the visa card that I never use. Last week I ordered something for the business and I clicked on the amex card and it prefilled the street address of my business with no po box. But the order I didn't get was done the same way. I clicked on the amex card and it prefilled my card info and my business street address but somehow it changed the address and added the old po box. The idiots at paypal won't listen to you. They just go back to: "you have the po box listed as your home address." You can't reason with an idiot.
-
I talked to the post office and they put a note in the po box of the individual asking them to return the package but they said if they don't there's nothing they can do. If paypal can't do something as simple as list my address as I have it listed on their records I don't trust them to be secure with my credit card.
-
I have used my amex for many orders. I received an order this morning and I used amex and it uses my street address because this is the address I have in paypal. Before I confirm an order and hit the button to submit I always make sure the information is correct. Out of all the orders I have made why would just one list the old po box? Paypal made an error but they won't admit it.

I have three credit cards on record with Paypal. About 5 years ago I closed my PO Box and started using my street address for orders. I changed the address on my MC and AMEX. I didn't change it on my visa because I never use it. I have placed many orders using my amex and the order is always shipped to my street address. I just got an order a few minutes ago that I placed on my amex and it was delivered to my street. A few weeks ago I placed an order on my amex. It was delivered to the old po box on January 11. I called the post office and they put it in the box so the person that has that box got my order. I called paypal and talked to Ms Patel. I explained what happened and told her it was their error. They don't need a live person, they could just play a recording because she kept repeating the same thing. She told me to go to my profile and click on change street address. I did and said now what. She said look at the address for your amex you will see it has the po box. I said no it doesn't. I am looking at it and it only has my street address. She then said on my records I have the po box for my home address and that is why they used it. I said Ok where do I find my home address. She said look at the visa card and you will see it has the po box. I told her it does but I haven't used that card in over 5 years and the mc and amex I now use have only the street address. She kept repeating the same thing over and over. I asked for a supervisor that could understand english and he was the same way. They wouldn't admit they made an error. I lost it and said some real ugly things and he hung up on me. I will never, never use paypal again.

Anyone know of a way to get the residue from stick on tire weights off? I found a web site for professional detailers and a lot of them are detailing motorcycles also and when I posed this questions most said to use 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner. Anyone used this? I don't believe this product will do the job.

What are the wheels made of. The specifications just say cast.
