Anyone know the yamaha part number for the bolts that hold the windshield in place on an 05 venture. I think there are six. I looked at the part diagram on yamaha site but not sure about which bolt. Thanks.

Need advise reparing cracked fairing
ediddy replied to ediddy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hey Keith R, The first part of my post about the broken tab on the fairing isn't covered by the threads you mention but the second part of my question regarding the 2 bolts on each end of the metal part that holds the windshield bolts is covered by V7Goose's thread. I looked up the thread in the tech section yesterday and am going to try to do what he says. Thanks for your reply. -
My radio has been going crazy so yesterday I went into the fairing. I don't have pictures yet but will try to describe what I found. Looking at the bike from the front and center the first tab to the right where a bolt goes to hold the windshield is cracked and the crack is almost completely across the tab. What is the best way to repair this? What kind of glue etc. Next the metal strip that has the 6 holes to bolt the windshiled is place is being held by a bolt in the center above the headlight. There are two bolts on each end of this piece that have a rubber washer and what looks like a rubber nut on the end and it appears there was a tab that this bolt attached to. It looks like a piece of the tab is broker so these two bolts are not doing anything to hold the metal piece in place. I'm very uneasy about riding my bike like this. It looks like the windshield could come off at speed. Any advise on how to fix this. The fairing was replaced under warranty in 2010 but is cracked already. Thanks for any help

Need advise on Passenger comfort
ediddy replied to DarkHorse9825's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I don't know why some people don't ever want a vent. I have had the clearview with a vent for 8 years and would never go to a shield without the vent. Everyone has their preference. -

Greasing rear wheel pins and splines

Yamaha sent a factory rep to my dealership to inspect my bike because of problems I had with the rear end. The factory rep said to use honda moly 60 and sent the yamaha mechanic to the honda dealership to pick up some. The yamaha factory rep said he used honda moly 60 for his personal use also. -
I thought you were leaving this site. Why are you waiting?

Great news. It couldn't have happened to a better person. This lets you know Mike is a very qualified person to get a raise from Ga Farm Bureau. Just a couple of years ago they were almost broke. Not only could they not write new business but they had to get ride of existing business because they didn't have enough money in reserve to support the premim they had on the books. That's why they signed a contract with Progressive to sell auto insurance and Travlers and ASI to write homeowner insurance. They contracted with Foremost to sell mobile home insurance. Another suprise they got was settling the liability claim for the crematory they insured but the owner wasn't cremating the bodies. You might have seen this on the news. A friend of mine, a former farm bureau agent, knows the claims manager personally. There was a high level meeting with the executives and they asked the claims manager for his recommendation. He said we can settle this claim for 6 million and I recommend we do that and move on. The executives said no we are going to fight this. The claim was settled later for 93 million. This hurt the GA Farm Bureau. They should have never insured the crematory because they don't have the expertise for this kind of commercial account. This doesn't have anything to do with Mike but just wanted you all to know.

With most insurance companies if you carry comprehensive coverage you can get roadside assistance for an auto for about $1.67 per month and for a motorcycle for about $7.00 per year.

If you disconnect the tape player does that disconnect the port for a MP3? -
Oh, I left out my main question. The new software program we will have to run is windows 7. So I was wondering why we couldn't upgrade to windows 7 with our current computers.

Thanks for the replies. We are an independent insurance agency, so we don't have an insurance company telling us what to do. It is true microsoft won't be doing any upgrades, patches etc. We do have a firewall and wouldn't turn on our computers without antivirus protection. We use the business version of avast. The IT guy did say every hacker out there will probably being going after businesses using xp. Our computers work fine and I didn't want to buy new computers unless it was necessary. It is always something. It never ends.

Background: Insurance agency. Have a server, Dell power edge 830, Two Dell Opti Plex GX620's and one Dell latitude D830 laptop using a replicator. The two desktops and laptop are used as workstations. All put in service in 2006 using windows xp professional. The IT guy we use was in last week to tell us microsoft won't be servicing windows xp. We knew that. He says we will have to buy a new server and workstations and use windows 7 professional. Do you guys agree that we will have to have new computers. I thought we could just change from xp to windows 7. Thanks for your expertise.

You can't fix stupid. School administrators seem to be the worst with their no tolerance. It should be called "no intelligence".

When I think it can't get any worse it does. The grammys were pure trash. I saw different segments of the the grammys on the news the next day. Was madonna dressed like colonel Sanders or Boss Hog. Pure Trash.

I used Daytimers for years but switched to Anytime Deluxe a few years ago. I like the program but I need a program where you can scan documents into the program. Anyone know of a good organizer that you can scan documents into the program. Anytime Deluxe would be excellent if you could scan.

An oxymoron: Military Intelligence

I saw an interiview with the lone suvivor. He gave a first hand experience of what happened and the movie was just like he said it happened. The Navy Seals and Special Ops guys are a special breed. If you want to see another account of a Navy Seals mission go to you tube and type in Jessica Buchanan. She was hijacked by Somila pirates and spent three months in the desert until rescued by Navy Seals. Her account will send chills down your spine. It is the actual inteview that was on 60 minutes. The movie was excellent but I left pissed off at the US Military. There should have been some higher up heads of military kicked out of the military. They should have never let those guys to die alone. At the end of the movie they showed the awsome air power the US has but where was it at when the seals needed it. The military could have gone in and when they left there wouldn't have been a leaf left on a tree. And last, it's a disgrace to send guys into a mission and for them to be afraid to kill someone if needed for fear of going to prison when they get home. I thougt after viet nam we had learned our lession but obviously we didn't. God Bless the Navy Seals.

I didn't believe the Florida law didn't require you to have liability insurance if you wear a helmet because that makes no sense. But I called an insurance agent in Florida and he said that is correct. The reason it doesn't make any sense is the liability pays the other person if you are at fault and they are injured. It doesn't pay you anything, so if you hit someone and they are injured what difference does it make if you are wearing a helmet. There must be some stupid legislators in Florida.

I've been trying to sign up for obamacare everyday since 12/23. When I get to the next to last step the site locks up. I would like to call the white house and tell them what I think, but if I did there would probably be secret service agents knocking on my door the next day.
