  1. My son was at the pharmacy getting a prescription filled and saw a can of this polish. The clerk said they didn't think too much about carrying it in the store but since word has gotten out that they have it they can't keep it on the shelf. It supposedly cleans and prevents finger prints. I used some on the glass frame of my autographed picture of Larry Pegram on his racing bike. It really leaves a shine. I'm going to try it on my bike. Just wondering if anyone has tried it.
  2. I'm not mechanically inclined so I can't say. But there was a yamaha dealer in Fitzgerald, Georgia that was one of the best venture mechanics around and he said there was no need to adjust the valves and it was a waste of time. Just sayin.
  3. You'll probably see one of them on the tv or read about them in the newspaper some day. It happens with all bikers but I find there is a certain make of bike rider that does this more than others. I stay away from them.
  4. Please send this article to yamaha!
  5. I was getting the same thing last year. I got one from a guy that supposedly was with AT&T. I sent him a reply and lowered the boom on him. I closed my email by saying, "Don't send me anymore emails you low life prick." He got the email and replied lowering the boom on me. He told me he hadn't sent any emails to me and that I was very unprofessional and he wanted to know who the president of my company was so he contact him and let him know how unprofessional I was. I replied and told him I was the president. The emails finally stopped but it is very aggravating to get the emails and I wish I knew how to stop them.
  6. Hey GaryN, I know. That's why I put free insurance in parentheses. Someone here posted several months ago and stated they get free healthcare in Canada and when I answered stating it wasn't free they gave me a short, huffy reply. I was just stiring the pot.
  7. Insurance is high in Canada as is everything. But they get "free healthcare".
  8. Hey all of ya'll Ohio residents. I have a question. One of the insurance companies I do business with in Georgia is being bought by Buckeye Insurance Group in Piqua, Ohio. Anyone dealt with Buckeye or know anything about them?
  9. I was watching the national news last night and saw the 05 venture. My wife was in the kitchen preparing supper and I hollered, hey our venture is on TV. I also wonder if it is someone on here.
  10. Next bike will be an 09 or later ultra classic. Hey MasterGuns. Where can you buy a 2011 screamin eagle ultra classic for 38,000. I insured a 2010 screamin eagle ultra classic for a guy last february and he paid close to 45,000 and had to go to south carolina to find it.
  11. I like the ultra classic and it will probably be my next bike but I don't want a model before 09. I ride two up with my wife and the heat is so bad a passenger can't stand the heat on anything before 09. A friend of mine bought an 08 screamin eagle ultra and only kept it one year because the heat so bad.
  12. A couple of years ago I talked to a retired yamaha dealer from Wisconsin. He was bitter toward yamaha. He said they are very tight lipped about new models. Said the dealers don't even know what a new year model brings until the dealer meetings each year. He also said the japs don't care what the dealers think and will not listen to their dealers. Just saying.
  13. I agree with what everyone has said but the reality is that sales of the venture is such a small percentage of their sales that it's not a top priority for the corporation.
  14. Sailor, Your medical insurance cost you more than 150.00 per year. That's why people from Canada are always complaining on this site about the high cost of everything in Canada compaired to the US. Shipping is more, insurance is more, motorcycles, hamburgers, you name it. You might not pay more than 150.00 directly but indirectly you are paying dearly.
  15. The canadian government has to pay for the free health insurance you get.
  16. Hey Gunboat, I can't speak for Texas because every state has different rates and coverages but in Georgia Progressive's rates for motorcycles are the highest of any company. I am an agent and on my 05 Venture progessive's rate was $1,900.00 per year and another company was $400.00 per year. In Georgia Victoria has the best rates for trikes. Victoria is owned by nationwide and markets through independent agents. I have insured several trikes and Victoria has had the best rate. It is usually around $600.00 per year. I have talked to progessive many times about their uncompetitive rates in Georgia but they don't seem to care. I am convinced that you can advertise anything on TV enough and people will buy without checking with other companies. Progessive is the number one motorcycle insurer in the US but if they don't lower their rates I don't believe they will be long. I also think the Harley insurance agency is feeding progessive a lot of business helping to keep them the number one company. Every insurance quote I see from the harley agency is with progressive. I have called on harley dealers for three years letting them know I specialize in cycle insurance and can get the best rate for their customer but I have only had one referral from a harley dealer. One harley dealer got arrogant with me when I told him progessive had the highest rates in Georiga, and told me harley riders didn't care about the rate, they just wanted to be with a quality company. I smiled and said they might not care about the rate when they buy a bike but they come to me on renewal and we beat progressives rate every time but you can't reason with them. The best thing to do is to check with several companies and see who is best.
  17. I switched to voip at my office two years ago. It is with a local company that is using the fiber optic lines of our local utility. It has been fine so far. It's amazing at the options you have with voip that you don't have with a land line.
  18. Sad story, but it doesn't surprise me that this kind of road is in Alabama. Alabama is about 20 years behind the rest of the US.
  19. Ruffy, Hope everything turns out ok.
  20. I'd be careful. The used harley market is flooded right now and it is a buyers market.
  21. No. Don't want a goldwing.
  22. Congratulations! I'm sure your wife deserves a medal.
  23. Can you jump a venture with jumper cables hooked to an automobile battery?
  24. As a lot of people here stated, call the yamaha district manager. Yamaha has to get it corrected. My dealer told me they had a yamaha warrior that they couldn't get fixed. They would have it running good but when the customer got home it would act up again. The service manager told me yamaha called him and he told them he had done everything he knew to do so yamaha told him to put the bike back in the crate and ship it back. Yamaha gave the customer a new bike. Tell yamaha they can either get if fixed or give you a new bike. Don't sell it at a loss. If you can't find a district manager send me an email. I have the contact info for the district manager for the southeast. If you're out of his territory I'm sure he could put you in contact with the manager for your area.
  25. I'm on my second set of avons. Ride 2 up loaded with luggage most of the time. I have 9,000 miles on current tires and they still look good. Never had a problem with balancing.
