I go on the harley tech talk web site weekly as I wanted to see what riders were saying about the ultra. There have been plenty of riders that have had trouble with the belt. Some have had rocks wedge between the belt among other problems. My best friend has a heritage classic and his belt just broke one day. It cost him $400 to have it replaced.

Got to the office this morning and turned on the air and nothing happened. The air conditioner is out. I am in south georgia and the weatherman said this was going to be the hottest, most miserable day of the year. Don't know when the repairman can get here. Anyone have a portable air conditioner? I am down to a tee shirt and pants. Do you think I would lose customers if I stripped down to just underwear or do you think I might get more customers, especially female customers.

Your auto has to be put back in the condition it was in before the accident. Most reputable insurance companies today guarantee the repairs for life. Thats why the "cheap" insurance might not be the best. In Georgia insurance companies have to pay the diminished value also. Check with your state and see if there is diminished value. Ignore the "don't accept the first offer, or the second offer" nonsense. If the company makes a fair settlement and most do, let them repair the vehicle. Don't listen to the get an attorney talk either. Unless there is bodily injury an attorney is not going to waste their time on a property damage claim. If an attorney did take the case why give him 1/3 of what you would get anyway. Good luck.

A factory rep with yamaha came to my dealership to inspect my bike. He said never, ever use anything to drive the axle in. When aligned properly the axle will slip right in. He made the joke that with Harleys you might have to use a mallet but never use anything on a venture. He also stated there were certain sequences to use when putting the rear end back together and showed that to the mechanic.

Venture "Stalled" today...WTH??
ediddy replied to stvmaier's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The exact thing happened to me a few years ago. It was a bad fuel pump. -
I have the chatterbox head sets and had the same problem. A company, I think it is Sierra Electronics, makes a wind sock that fits over the mic to stop the wind noise. I bought one for each mic about 5 years ago. I think they were about $5.00 a peice back then.

Hey Brett, Glad you are ok. Having a tire blow out is one of the biggest fears I have, especially if my wife is on the back with me. As others have said, please let us know the details so we will know what to look out for. Thanks,

My wife and I rode our bike to Maggie Valley, NC two or three years ago and went to Ghost Town. There was a bluegrass group playing there. I dont remember their name but they were great. The fiddle player won the national fiddle players contest and the banjo player was nonimated for an emmy award that year. He used to play with Rhonda Vincent. He played the whoa mule song and was great. The fiddle player played a fiddle he made out of a maxwell house coffee can. That was interesting.

Grew up listening to bluegrass. Still think of my dad when I hear bluegrass music. I have an uncle that played in James Monroe's (Bill Monroe's son) band for many years. I have an uncle that lives in Hartwell, Georgia that has a band that plays every saturday night. He has a place in the old train depot on depot street in Hartwell. He has had people from all other world come by. A few years ago there were 34 people from England that came in. He said that was the best audience ever. A radio station in Anderson, SC used to broadcast the program. At one time there was a guy going to school at Clemson they drove down to hartwell every saturday and played the banjo in the band. All of my dad's relatives were born playing bluegrass. They used to get together on saturday nights and sing and play for hours. I was always amazed at how they remembered the words to all the songs they sang. They never had a music lesson, it is just natural talent. Growing up I never was interested in music but if I had my life to live over I would take music lessions and learn to play.

At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 9-year-old baseball players aside and asked, "Do you understand what cooperation is?" What a team is?" The little boy nodded in the affirmative. "Do you understand that what matters is whether we win or lose together as a team?" The little boy nodded "yes." So the coach continued. "I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue, curse, attack the umpire, or call him a pecker-heard, D***head or a**hole. Do you understand all that? The little boy nodded "yes" again. He continued, "And when I take you out of the game so another boy gets a chance to play, it's not good sportsmanship to call your coach "a dumb a** or S**t head" is it?" The little boy shook his head "No." "GOOD," said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother."

Before everyone starts posting the company they have their coverage with and the cost remember that it doesn't matter what people in other states post, that doesn't matter. Every state is different and only post frm people who live Arizona are valid.

When you find your problem, let me know. My bike was fine until 2 years ago. Battery went bad. Bought new one. A week later it was dead. Dealer gave me a new battery at no charge, a few weeks later it was dead. Left with dealer for 2 weeks and they checked everything and came to conclusion rectifier was bad. Replaced retifier under warranty and put in new battery. Everything fine until I let bike set up for a week and then dead battery again. Bike is now out of warranty. Took to dealer and left it for a week. Dealer said checked everything and couldn't find a problem so thought battery was defective so put in a new battery. Didn't cost anything even though now out of warranty because had issue while still in warranty. Parked bike in gargage on a friday and didn't ride until monday. Battery weak and wouldn't turn over the engine enough to start. Put on battery tender for two days and bike started. If I let bike set for 2 or more days won't start, so I put on battery tender if not riding for a few days. Dont' know what else to do.

My niece was driving back from Panama City FL and took a picture of this rider texting on a cell phone. How dumb can you be?!

This comes up frequently. Someone will be on vacation and have personal items stolen from their auto and call to file a claim on their auto insurance but most items are covered under your homeowner. I would think the GPS would be covered on your renters policy also. State Farm must have a quirk in their homeowner policy that doesn't cover a GPS. Every company can be different. Check with other companies to find out.

I get info from warranty companies all the time asking our agency to sell their extended warranties. I'm afraid to sell one because I have heard so many bad stories of people having problems getting claims paid. There may be some good companies out there I'm hesitate to sell or buy one.

I have the yamaha saddlebag liners and the trunk bag. Use the trunk bag all the time. Haven't used the saddlebag liners but a couple of times. It's convenient to pull the saddlebag liners out when unpacking, but I believe you can't get as much in the the saddlebags with the liners as without the liners.

Sorry to hear about the family's loss. I told my son that if anything ever happened to me while riding, the first thing I want him to do is go on this site and let everyone know. Not that anyone would care, but I asked him to do that.
