  1. Thanks dan for the heads up.
  2. At first I thought, no wonder my clutch is sloppy the bolts worked loose. Nope they were tight as could be. It was installed like that!! Lol:rotf:
  3. Don't think the previous owner got it just right! Lol
  4. Well the previous owner must be dumb as a brick!! This is hilarious to me.
  5. Well my rear shock has started to piddle oil on the floor and getting a little loose feeling in the rear. This winter it will be time for a new shock. I know of Hagon and Works shocks are there any others out there? Which would be best? Mostly 2 up interstate commerce. I'm about 230 and the wife is about 110. Thanks
  6. Whatever you do don't get Avon Venoms!!!!
  7. Well got the dreaded clutch slip in O/D today under heavy acceleration. I'm gonna bleed the clutch and see if that helps but if it doesn't any suggestions on the replacement procedure and or a parts source. Thanks
  8. My wife sat on it for 3 minutes and already told me she loved it! I believe her being as she has only ridden my Harley Fatboy. Bless her!!!
  9. Yeah heard bad things about the shocks. Any warning signs besides moisture? Handling issues?
  10. Being as I am still new to these bikes I would love to know some of the good things about these bikes and the bad things and really bad things. All mechanically speaking that is. Things that last and things to watch out for. Thanks
  11. Yeah that's what I was looking at in the service manual. I'm just beginning to think that for some reason he took them apart and didn't put them back on. I know I had all my pads and all was good before I took it in for tires and when it came out of the shop. Immediately screaching and swishing from the front brake. Stopped looked at the breaks and no pads except 1. Wierd I don't know how he could have missed that and also they kept the bike almost a week to put 2 tires on. That in itself was a little worriesome.
  12. Had a friend also that had the samething happen except on a dirt bike. They forgot to tighten the axle pinch bolts.
  13. Needless to say they won't be touching this bike again either.
  14. Took my 99 Venture in for some new rubber. After waiting a week for them to put the tires on I picked her up today. Well I cranked her up and pulled off to head home. Immediately I heard a swishing sound coming from the front breaks. So at the first opportunity I pulled over to check everything out. Hit the front breaks and a God AWEFUL sound came from them. Guess what? They obviously pulled the caliper to spread the pads. Well somehow they managed to leave them loose so somewhere within the mile I traveled the pads fell off. Yay!!!!! Of course they didn't have any in stock. Angry isn't the word!
  15. When you say you think it won't be most is that a good thing or a bad thing?
  16. Just curious, who has the most miles on their second gen venture and what major malfunctions if any have you experienced during your miles.
  17. Disregard. I found it on another thread!! Dough!!! I have to learn to navigate this site!!
  18. Just curious if I can use a bicycle tire pump to put air in the rear shock and front forks? I know that compressed air is a no no. Just curious on the pump with out spending the $$$ on a new hand pump. Thanks all
  19. Hey sorry about that but I live in troy alabama. Maybe once I get her squared away I can make the journey up there
  20. Thanks guys would anyone be willing to give me their telephone number so I could call and talk to someone about these bikes. I have yet to see one on the road and I've been looking a good year now.
  21. Thanks for the replies guys. I am having a hard time navigating. Gonna take it to the dealership and let them look over everything. No knowledge on these metrics but you can bet I'm gonna learn!!
