Everyone please enter their zip code. I will get to work on the best location for everyone and get to work on the dining available in that area. I will do my best to be fair to everyone! -

Preferably in the Montgomery or Pratville area to eat. -
I will be ordering the bypass. Where is the best place to ground it. Thanks
-
Kinda figured that.

Hey Eck. Thinking of going with the plug and play a member on here has. Any thoughts?
-
Chat up and running
-
Yeah had read they liked to crap out. Just think I better be safe and bypass it. It gets warm enough to feel it in my pocket a minute or 2 after.
-
Way to go guys. Site is running like my venture! Which is great! However I think chat may have a issue.

Anyone else have a 2nd gen key that is super warm to the touch after riding or idling for a bit. Is it time to order the ignition bypass?

RSV D404 tire pressure? What is it suppose to be?
Broncoboy36081 replied to Broncoboy36081's topic in Watering Hole
I have never met the guy but when I got there and parked i happened to look over and there was a Venture! He was squatted down with one of those plug in type emergency air compressors. I went to go give him a hand and that's when he told me what the other guys had done to him. He said he always runs what the manual says of 36-36. He said he had been having some handling problems. I asked if he had a leaking rear shock or had he ever checked the stearing head bearings. He said he had done nothing to the bike no carb sync, no adjustments period. 08 with 96k miles. He also said he had a tour deluxe with 113k that would get water in the oil. I asked about the head gasket and he said he had some sort of vacuum problem.?.?.?.?.!. Anyway thanks guys. -

Thanks guys -
I k ow the manual says 36 front and rear for the D404 tires but what do they actually need. Read something on here about the manual says the pressures are wrong for this tire. Found a guy at the rally im at that had a venture but his butt hole friends let the air out of his tires as a joke. I would kill them!!

Time to replace clutch????
Broncoboy36081 replied to Kettlinton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Skydoc has a great kit for sale on here. Customer service is top notch. If you have to replace your clutch which it sounds like right now all you need is a thorough bleeding/flush and a new slave cylinder give his kit a shot. Took me about 30 minutes to do slave cylinder and maybe 45 to do the clutch friction plates and about 10 minutes to flush the clutch and bleed it with a vacuum pump. -
I had a 2006 GMC Sierra. Same problem. Took me forever in the rain to fix a flat as the cord that pulls up the spare tire wasn't attached to the mechanism that lowered it down. After 2 hours of pulling pushing and prying it came loose. Truck was 3 months old and purchased new. Guess what? Spare was flat as well. I wrote them a letter. My response was bring it in and we will make it right. They offered to grease the tire release and put a new valve stem in the spare. It took them about 2-4 hours and they called me back. There response "we have parts on the way to replace the tire carrier" lol!

What in the world? Here in Alabama we still drink from streams and cook over a fire!

In order to use that repair kit you must hone the cylinder out to get it right. You are better off replacing the whole unit. Try bleeding the clutch if that doesn't help its air getting past the seal on the slave. You mentioned a leak. Just bleeding the clutch won't help that if it is the slave leaking. Good luck. -

Call me I will walk you through it. I just replaced my clutch slave!! -
Eck I'm not the one that called but I would love to know how the cap comes apart as mine is very sticky.

All plugs looked great! I'm pretty sure like a buddy said if I squirted a little oil in it the compression would be higher but they are all within the 10% difference. I will run a little seafoam through it and run her hard. That should help with the one at 210.

Well I got bored and did a compression check on my 99 RSV. Here are the results using my analog gauge Cylinder#1 200-202 psi. Cylinder#2 200-202 psi. Cylinder#3 205psi. Cylinder#4 210psi Bike was luke warm idled about 3-5 minutes. Thoughts and concerns welcomed! They are all well within the spec. Only concern is the one at 210 and rest were around 200-205.
