    I ordered mine directly from diamond r accessories http://www.diamondraccessories.com. it was about 250. I always find my self straightening my back when I ride for a while. This should do the trick. Thanks folks. P.S. I got all my info from you folks.... Thanks to everyone. P.P.S. Main reason I ordered it was a group of us new englanders are going to do an Iron Butt ride (1000 mile). Anyone interested on here p.m. me....

    Well, I bit the bullet and ordered the overstuffed Driver backrest from Diamond R. I am hoping this will help me from slouching when I drive. Anyone with this backrest or any confirm it will help. Thanks....

    I've ridden the bike about 3,000 miles this year already. Seafoam is not going to help.

    Well, I'm still having issues. Here is a list of problems 1) choke still doesn;t seem to fully set. 2) carbs won't stay synched for more than 500-800 miles. 3) can't get it to idle under 1200 rpm. right after I sync the carbs it runs smooth as silk, but as soon as I drive it for a while it goes out. Now I did have the carbs off once to clean the needles to get them unstuck. Maybe theres something I'm missing. Could a hose or a wire thats in the way cause these problems? Thank you very much for any help.

    I already used half a can, I can try some more, but I've ridden the bike for about 700-800 miles already. I can't imagine the carbs being gummed up still.

    Hello to all, been a while since I've been on here. My venture started bad this year, the floats were stuck, so i took the carbs off to clean. Did a tune up and synced carbs.But just an oddity, when I set the choke to full, the bike doesn't seem to bring the rpm's up as fast as it use to, it does run a little rough when cruising. I may try to sync the carbs again, but any suggestions? Thanks guys!!!

    Well, I have talked to yamaha on this, and the guy I talked to said basically the "i" basket is no guarantee. He also told me to ride it for a nother 1000 miles to see if it still bothers me. I work for a company that can fabricate different materials, I'm going to see if I can come up with something. I also noticed after having the rear splines regreased it seemed to be alot less annoying, but is starting to come back again. I'll keep everyone posted.

    Picked up the bike friday night. They covered the rear splines, but charged me 80 bucks to sync the carbs. The bike is like a whole new bike, smooth and quiet. now I'm ready for my canada trip. I have to call my salesman back today, he was going to look into crediting me for syncing the carbs.

    Thanks, I agree with you all, I also called yamaha corp. and they said it was covered. My family has spent well over 40000 dollars on vehicles there. I can't believe they would pull this.

    Got it, but when I called, I only told them the rear end was making noise, almost like it was coming from the brakes. I don't mind paying for syncing the carbs, that I understand. He told me the tsb on the rear splines states that it is a wear issue, not a replacement issue. What I should have done is drove it til it broke.

    I understand that, but what does the yamaha service manual say for a job like that. It may have only taken them an hour, but it could be listed for a three hour job. My main concern is some people here have gotten it covered and others have not, why such a discrepency.

    Well, the dealer said it wasn't covered, but that they would only charge me 2 hours labor and no parts. I don't think the dealer is trying to rip me off because it's normally a three hour job. They probably would have been better compensated if it was covered under warranty.

    Well, dropped off my 07 venture at 1700 miles to have the rear splines greased and the carbs to be checked( I think they need to be resynced). The dealer told me the neither one of these is covered under warranty. I thought the rear spline thing was a factory issue. Should I call yamaha to find out? I also left them the service bulletin for the "I" basket.

    Well, from what I've read, the "I" basket seems to be a temporary fix to a permanent problem. And not so much a problem, but it's just the way th bike is. I'm wondering, instead of using the "I" basket fix, maybe there's a way to minimize the noise by using sound deadening material around the clutch basket externally. If doing the "I" basket is not 100%, lets find a way to at least permanently reduce the noise in all applications. Any suggestions?

    Well, I saw that buy.com had this unit for 199.99. With free shipping, looks like a great deal. I was wondering if any one here has tried this unit? Thanks.
