  1. I'm hoping somethings wrong. I'll know soon enough. Crap weather spending some time in the garage.
  2. Agreed. I took mine out last night shifting at 8500-9000. It's quick but I don't think sportster 1200 quick.
  3. That's what I feel. I think my 750 will give it a run 0-60
  4. Yeah I'm gonna check them tonight. I took it for a ride last night. Runs good nice and responsive but I don't think it's all there. I'll know for sure when I line it up with my 750
  5. Lol! All this talk has got me pumped. My bike ran like poop first time I took it out. Wasn't impressed. Could be because I own a cr500 and after riding that everything feels like a moped. I've since put new plugs and wires and just ran the sea foam thru it last night. I'll be taking it out tonight for a sea foam beating. See how she performs.
  6. Some surprising take downs! Keep em coming:322:
  7. This gets me excited! I ride an 85 Shadow 750. Just a slight upgrade:rotf:
  8. I've yet to get out and ride my 86vr as I'm doing some work to it to make it perfect. I keep hearing how fast these first gens are. Well how fast are they? I'm sure a few of you have lined up with another bike one time or another. So let's hear what you've taken down. Sorry if wrong place to post. Feel free to move
  9. Awesome thank you! My air box isn't in the bike right now. Probably the reason why i dont see where it hooks up lol
  10. so the hose coming off the T is just a drain? It doesn't connect to anything?
  11. I took the battery box out and everything was pretty much right there. Easy job.
  12. That's how mine is. It's still hooked up to the air box. But then Ts off and comes out the left side. When i noticed the tube it was connected to anything. I wasn't sure if I pulled it off trying to install my new plug wires.
  13. The crankcase ventilation tube that comes out the left side of the engine and goes up the frame. Where does this connect to? Or does it not connect to anything?
  14. What caps would you recommend besides ngk? One of my originals are good. The rest are pretty much toast.
  15. Ok thanks. I ordered all my stuff from the local motorcycle shop. Everything be in tomorrow
  16. Soo looks like I'm gonna stay away from the suzuki swift wires and just order it by the foot from Napa. Going to call them at lunch. Can anyone tell me or point me in the direction on how to get the coils out?
  17. I have been doing some research on plug wires for my bike. Good information here http://www.bergall.org/temp/venture/venture%20tips.html I see u can go with the ngk spark plug cap cover and 7mm solid copper wire. I also see him mention something about using plug wires from a 1993 suzuki swift and just cut the one end off that goes to the coil. Has anyone went the suzuki swift way? Not sure where i would get 7mm plug wire from around here. Dan
  18. Hmm I'm gonna say I should get some plug wires lol http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e219/DeeGee24/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140722_193618.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e219/DeeGee24/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140722_195232.jpg
  19. 85000km
  20. Ahhh got ya. Yeah I try and stay away from mechanics as much as possible. Sure be nice to know a few people in the area with good knowledge of these bikes. Plus it's always nice having more people to ride with.
  21. I'm in windsor ontario. Mechanic will be last resort. I enjoy getting my hands dirty.
  22. lol!!
  23. Runs a little rough but im thinking something minor. Plugs and wires something along those lines. Other then that it needs nothing.
