  1. Yea, like Larry said.
  2. I would suggest you type in "weather.com" in your browser :sign your welcome:and look at the forecast for the area you will be riding in. It can get chilly this time of year.
  3. The reason they want a Harley over a Royal Star is................................................................................................................................................................... What would they wear if they owned a Yamaha. The only clothes they have say Harley. I don't see Yamaha EVERYTHING, leather, belts, doo-rags, leather, boots, pants, shirts (well maybe some Yamaha shirts) undewrwear, leather underwear, oh my God!
  4. Any wreck you walk away from is a VERY GOOD THING! Glad to hear you are OK. Ride safe
  5. A couple of years ago, I put the leveling links on my RSMV. It did seem to handle a little better @ slow speeds but all the issues you stated were there once I was traveling on the highway at speed. Needless to say, I don't have them on my bike any longer and would not place them on there again. I run Avon tires and the better handling over the Brickstone tires is enough for me. I have a set Leveling links if anyone wants them. Jim
  6. The link he has to Buckeye is what most all use from the site here when they get the Flanders bars. I put TD bars on my bike and love them. If you like them back and out, this is the way to go. Two issues to consider: They are wide so your hands will be out to the edge of the faring and will catch more wind. They will cover up the 12V plug on the left side of the faring as well. This does not bother me as I have a 12V under the seat. Go to the Yamaha shop and check out how the TD bars feel when you are setting on the bike. Just another option and life is better with options than without.
  7. It seems best to just let them go around. If I am in a rural setting two lane road, I will slow and wave them around. The time on the bike will be much more enjoyable and safer. Since you don't want to be distracted by the car doing this and we all know if something happens in front of us, they will push us into whatever it is. When they come around I have learned to not move too way to the right of my lane when they pass or they will cut into your lane. You all ride safe
  8. It looks like you ran over something being where it is located BUT, I am in total agreement that we all need to keep a very close eye on the two tires we have on the ground. Avons, Dunlop, Michelin ALL of them can have defects. Ride Safely
  9. I live just North of the Austin area and you sure are welcome to stop by or I can meet up with you. If you ride IH 35, it is a very congested roadway with lot's of trucks so do take care. My cell # is on my profile. Jim aka...Roadhand
  10. I put Tour Delux bars on my venture. They come back and are much wider than stock Venture bars. OOPs, I just noticed youride a TD so thesebars are stock for you.
  11. Mine is about 1 year old and it just quit talking to me last week. I was going to remove the battery but it must have decided to make up with me andit is now working (talking) OK Don't know what to say about it.
  12. Very interesting replys She (Anne Marie) since you all seem to go there, as made up with me. She started telling me where to go again. The last word (what else would you expect) was "bare left". mmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder if she is referring to politics?
  13. This is a 550 now that I think about it.
  14. My Zumo 660 (I believe) just decided to stop providing verbal directions. I have taken it out and placed it in the auto cradle and it still won't talk. Everything else seems to work OK. Anyone had an issue like this? If so, how did you fix it?
  15. Best regards Lowell
  16. When you were in Texas, you should have let some of know. We would have had a Bar B Que
  17. I just wanted to state how pretty the Vancover/Seattle area is and I envy you folks on the my the days of nice riding up there. I just returned from a week in the area and can not state how impressed I am. Though I did not get to ride my bike this trip, it is on my "to do" list some time soon if I can swing it. You all enjoy and ride safe.
  18. Maybe I will be able to make the trip with you in September. I could not have made it this weekend anyway as I am out of town this weekend. Let me know when you make plans for the September date
  19. That is a very good looking 1300
  20. Colorado does sound much cooler than Texas now for sure. I am headed to Seattle June 19th so I am sure I will fine much cooler weather up there. Owen, don't worry about mowing. Just let it go about two more weeks without rain and your mowing days will be over for this year.
  21. I have an 07 with 40K on it and had no issues. Some folks have listed some common problems with all ventures (the whine, the clutch basket, etc) but for the $, the Venture is a very good bike.
  22. I upgraded my headlight and had my wife (much smaller hands) help me put it back in. I used needle nose pliers to removed it. It took me about 30 min but much easier than removing the farring
  23. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2033941&id=1572403157&l=ca6ec84827 Just a little of the fun we had.
  24. I have been considering a pull behind trailer and wsa wondering if any of you have looked into or know about the in-line brand of trailer? It seems like a very good idea to have the wheel of the trailer track the same as the bike. Any ideas and/or information will be appreciated
  25. I placed a lighter under the seat, left hand side, in the hard plastic. It has a cutout for one and I ran a "fused" wire from the battery. It is right there and you won't see any wires and the chrome lighter knob looks good there as well. I have had it there for at least two years and can perform the act of lighting up at any speed. If you are interested, pm me and I will take a couple of pictures for you
