???Dang, jt. Just how old are you?? Or is that you started at age 12?

For what it's worth....while there are certain handling (suspension) aspects of the bike that can and usually are designed to take advatage of radial vs bias ply tires, I do NOT believe that the difference between the tires would preclude using the radial on a bike not specifically designed for it. That said, the one hitch is that the rims are likely to be different. I don't remember specifically, but I don't think you can use a radial on the venture rims because of the bead design. I could be mistaken on that. That's just me thinkin out loud! One of the Venture gurus around here should be able to steer you in the right direction, though!

Difficult Finding Neutral
autopilot replied to MasterGuns's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Compare it to a auto brake master cylinder. It's possible that you can have internal bypassing happening which would require replacement. But, I would reserve that for a last stab (unless a long time, imminently knowledgable venture pilot recommends it) Short answer is no you wouldn't necessarily have external leaking. My 2 cents. -

My wife says I need one of those signs! Oh, and uh....nice bike!!! I too like the pipes.

My initial response is to agree with Saltydog..talk to them about a concession of some kind relative to lodging. That said, I also have to wonder if some of what Kit said isn't at work there. SO, after much thought, I think you should approach someone(s) to find out what the process was and then stump for a break if you stay at your cabin. If they don't want to make some kind of adjustment, you then have 2 choices! Don't go at all or stay at your place pay the money and go anyway. If I could work it out in my mind that the sum total of the activities and food (minus lodging) could be justified, even loosely, then I'd probably go stay wherever I wanted (maybe a couple of days at both), have fun and not think another thought about it!

After 3 1/2 Years......I Went Back To Work Today!
autopilot replied to 86er's topic in Watering Hole
It'll come back quick enough, Todd! I'm glad for you. It'll be good for your psyche, just being able to have a job again. Good luck for sure.. I can say with all candor..for me .at this point in my life I don't think I'd go back to work if I could. A job would be a gigantic inconvenience. That or I've grown really, really lazy! -
I won't say that I speak for anyone but myself, but I think it would be a welcome and fitting testament to your dad and his affection for this group for you to ride with us yourself, when the time is right! There will be stories to share and new memories to make. In any event, we'll be here! My heart goes out to you and all of your family! God bless you all. You mentioned the Army...Thank You for your service!

This is a sad day. I feel sorrow for family and friends at their loss, but I feel joy for his spirit! Go with God!

Did they even equip the F-22 with afterburners? I had the impression it was the only aircraft capable of "supercruise" (ie- supersonic without afterburner) Wouldn't the thrust vectoring mechanism complicate that? Don't a/b units usually have those funky nozzle constrictors? Thrust to weight on this rig has got to be outrageaous! Just looking closely at the lowspeed agility, this aircraft could easily generate more G-force than a person could stand, even with the suit.

Snuck up on me this year, but as many of you may know, March 8 - 16, is Canadian-American Days here in the Myrtle Beach area. If any of you are down for the event or coming for part of it, Welcome!! As always--lots of stuff going on. Killer car show, shag dance competition and if you absolutely have to there's always....golf. Later in the year (~June 2), Hard Rock Theme Park has the Grand Opening with the Eagles. (soft-limited opening in April) http://www.hardrockpark.com/index3.php is the site if you want to poke around. I have nothing whatsoever to do with the place or anything, but it should be sonething special. And NO, I will not ride Led Zeppelin..15 stories, 65 mph...6 loops...No sir, I don't think so....even if it is set to "Whole Lotta Love"! Spring Bike Week May 9-18 I gotta leave now, I'm starting to sound like a darn commercial.

This is just so hard, sometimes; seeing our friends (known & unknown) and their families having to handle these ordeals! Seems to happen all to often. Yet, deal, we all must. If all that I can offer is positive thoughts and earnest prayers, then I do so gladly. I will travel in my mind to his bedside, though I don't know him and place a hand on his shoulder, though I can't see him and pray for healing in his body from the One whose greater glory would be served by it. Wow, don't mind me. He leads, I follow.....don't ask! Meandog...hope you're feeling better soon.

ALL Right Gary!!!! Great to hear you'll be getting back in the saddle soon. Of course we'll be expecting all the requisite pictures. Good going. We'll be waitin

Man. If it's that heavy, fluffy, big flake stuff, you could have a time on your hands. You gotta post pictures when it's over!

Done, Paypal enroute for 2 patches. Thanks

I might consider it, as long as I don't have to mount those antlers on the front of the bike or change the horn to a moose bellow!
-
ooooh, Skid, I like the way you think. I got a couple 164 ci Corvair flat 6, air-cooled, aluminum motors sitting around. I always had an Idea in the back of my mind to plant one in a bike. Bring on Tim "the toolman", more power, Taylor. Honest Charley's (of hot Rod fame) builds & sells a 2.2 liter Flathead Ford v-8 powered bike. Style's a bit old school for my liking, but ya gotta love the flathead!!

OK, I just did a quick search and did't find the "stand-up" strategy mentioned. Can someone either enlighten me or point me and push.
-
Well, I stand (or in this case, sit) before you (sorta) humbled yet again!! Since I screwed that up how about this as a replacement? Different topic..raw power!! And if the first one is maybe faked, the second one is not...
-
When they get the site back up from an overhaul they're doing you can go look up the Drysdale Motorcycle Co. in Australia. They sell a v-8 bike for about $37,000. Primarily a racer though. Here's a sound byte....doesn't really tell much just blippin the throttle. I have a different file I'll try to post if I can convert it from wav to mp3.

This would be COLD!!!! (no I don't recall where this is. I don't think I want to know...bbbrrrrrr.)

Crawdaddy, Did you do the work yourself of have it done somewhere? I'm also curious about comfort in the saddle after a couple of hours? Oh Yeah........Nice ride! JohnH, I used the Baron's kit and like it just fine!
