Good Job!!! And a nice fish. About the only thing I ever caught fishing was a cold! Don't have the gene, I guess. My sister & brother in law own a bait & tackle shop up north. He took me to a stocked pond owned by a club he was a member of. There was a Bass in there about 2 feet long. His kid wanted to go get his 45 cal. & shoot it just so he could have it. I hit the darn thing in the head with a lure.....didn't even phase him. Seems the big fish were pretty well full of the little fish and eggs from the nesting beds. It was that time of year! It's also the way my fishing usually goes. So, I don't do very much of it. I don't remember where I got these pike pics (may have been here), but 1 fish was 4 ft and the other was 5 ft. The smaller one was on the hook and the bigger one was trying to bite the smaller one when he was landing it. The guy was able to get both of them. I copied them cause I was so impressed with how big & funny looking pike can get. Yours ain't no slouch either!!

http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacation-rentals/United-States.html Great selection. User friendly site. Various areas. Wide range of prices depending on what you want. http://www.vacationhomerentals.com/vacation-rentals/United-States.htm Another similar site we've used to help us make selections for special occasions. We normally stay w/ relatives when we go to TN/NC Smoky mtns.

There was some discussion a couple of days ago about the new Vmax. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=23312 Interesting stuff.

I SO wish I could have seen that! Jeff, The way I hear it, no one deserves this more than you. Good luck with the new scoot and ride safe..

Sounds like a total blast. I haven't been around Roanoke in several years, but I remember it being some beautiful countryside through there. Good Luck; ride safe!

Well, it's past 6:30 pm now, so if the turkey was bad, you know it for sure by now! I hope it's not, cause that would make for a miserable couple of days. Good luck!

I appreciate it. I told him my results (zero) and told him I'd keep checking around. If you discover something or have an idea that my work, let 'er rip. I'll pass it on to him. And thanks again.

Wildhair, saw one of your posts where mention you have a Kawasaki Voyager. It brought to mind something I have been looking for for a neighbor who has one. He is an average height guy, but short legged. We were talking about lowering devices for the Kaw, similar to the links we use on the RSV & RSTD. He said he had checked around and couldn't find anything, but he's not computer savvy and in fact doesn't own one. He has, for all practical purposes, quit riding because he has to tip-toe the bike at a stop and just isn't comfortable with it anymore like it is. I searched around & couldn't find anything either. Do you know of either a part no., a source or template or something that I might pass along to him. He's a good guy and I know he wants to ride more; like when he first got the V'ger. Any help is appreciated and anyone else here that knows something that might be helpful, by all means, chime in. (other than the ever present advice to replace it with a Venture. May be valid, but not real helpful--in context) Thanks

Actually, THAT's the 2010 Venture.

jt, Good, good news to hear. Regarding the "if anyones interested" thing, I offer this: In this day and time, good news is good news no matter where it comes from. The fact that it comes from one of our own about the love of his life.............How could we NOT be interested?

So, (spyder & Sturgis), First, Tx2Sturgis, thanks a lot the detail is really helpful. And AZspyder thank you as well. I take it from both of you that essentially any decent GPS will let you plan an average trip of say 500 to 1000 miles and plug in where all your planned stops will be.....for example every what--say 125-150 miles for a pit stop, gas and butt-break & the requisite DQ stops. Is that kinda what I'm hearing or am I seeing voices again. From there it would be xtra features, price, brand, m/c specific or not, etc.?

A few months ago there was a similar thread, but I wasn't as ready to look seriously at them myself. But someone, (think it was freebird) commented about the number of user defined waypoints, so you can plan the trip, punch them in and go. There was also comments on heat, etc. if a non-m/c GPS was chosenI am as yet moderately clueless as the only GPS I have any familiarity with (and it's been a while) was on my brothers boat several years ago and I wasn't adept with it by any stretch. Can someone also comment on those aspects, because unlike one poster suggested.....I don't know exactly what I need. I would like to be able to plan my own stops, etc. Big Tom..ain't tryin to hijack yer thread, but I'd like to know too. Hopefully, this way, I won't have to do this but once, myself and I think you want the same sort of help I do..

A word of caution! Every electrical tape I've ever seen includng any of the Scotch Electrical tapes, let go in a hot environment and we won't even talk about what happens when it lays on hot things for very long. So, the external wrap part of your fix may cause trouble in fairly short order. I'd leave it as a stop-gap only until I got the right size plug, but no longer. just my humble opinion, nothing more.

From my experiences, attorney or not the best expected from the insurance company is going to be policy limits. They are not on the hook for anything past that. That said, if the situation warrants (and the person or their parent(s) [depending on age] financial situation will support it, then the lawyer is the only way to get any more money for anything! And yes, it'll take ~33% of whatever..to get it. You may have to go to court; you may lose a fair amount of time, but it's the only other way short of dropping a dime on the guy and having Guido & Co. adjust his vision so he sees the situation properly, but I didn't say that! Conversely, if there ain't no money or property to get at, the to be perfectly blunt, yer buttin' a stump! Comments are not intended to advocate any violent solution to a problem, however, I would personally like to thank the person or persons responsible for killing the "nanner" smilly face...(I'm in your debt, but don't press your luck) Author does not advocate stump butting as a particularly bright activity and may cause some level of physical damage to the buttor. Author therefore accepts no responsibility for consequenses of attempting same.

Went to the sight,; watched the movie! That Evoline is SO cool! I love the way the jaw-bridge flips completely over the helmet. Now, if it was electric.................hmmm! Actually, if they could incorporate the rear-view feature of the Reevu helmet, it would be perfect. These aren't available here yet, either. http://www.reevu.com/moto_product.asp It would be great for those of us with neck-range of motion issues.

jt, Hang in there, buddy. There's lots of prayers going up for Jean (and you) and the doctors.

I got a VOX modular. I haven't had a chance to wear it but a time or 2. I had gotten it for cooler weather and it warmed up earlier than I thought it would. I like the fit though and it has the sun shield built-in AND you can flip it with one button..one handed. Runs ~$125 from Sterlingtek. Their primary business is not helmets, so what you need to do is: go here..http://sterlingtek.com/ then search "VOX helmets". Then cycle down the list till you see the modular helmet. pick one, go to the page and you'll see all the color selections and an animated pic like this: http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/82000038/Images/1/helmetcool2.gif
