  1. So sorry for your loss. I won't bore you with a story about losing my folks. Suffice to say, you are a lucky man to have been able to share activities with your dad and especially forgive and be forgiven...that is priceless!! In contrast, my father was a very hard man to know; he worked all the time when I was young to support 4 kids a wife and a house. He didn't really know how to communicate-especially feelings and more especially to his family. He was overly strict and a serious disciplinarian. But, I appreciated that somewhere in there was basically a simple, uncomplicated, ethical, God fearing man, who at one time in his life rode an Indian....an activity I have also enjoyed with the bikes I've had through the years. I must say that I do envy you your relationship with your dad. I would have given just about anything to have played catch or shot a couple of hoops or shot a box or two of ammo at the range. Oh boy what a downer.....sorry about that. Don't misunderstand, I loved the guy, we just never connected and that I regret. My point is Puc, that where I laid to rest a man that I knew well, yet didn't know at all, you can celebrate a life that you knew well, that knew you equally well, someone you shared so much with.....That is .........PRECIOUS! So, my friend, I will ask Gods blessing on you and your family during this time of loss and renewal. God Bless! Steve Risher (the one and only original Autopilot)
  2. I'm reminded of the song "The Cat's in The Cradle" by Cat Stevens! If you experience it, it bothers you even more. Take my word for it!
  3. I'm late getting on board, but the train is still pickin' up passengers from coast to coast... Saw the postings about your son's progress and had to smile...God is some kind of great as always! I offer my prayers as well in the full knowledge and experience that the Lord will answer. God bless all of your family, but particularly, your son as he keeps on healing!
  4. Thanks for the post Don!
  5. It's still as funny as the first time I read it......
  6. Admittedly, I haven't been on the forum much this year, but when I do come here I always check this thread. Now, I hope I am not being completely stupid when I ask this ( I looked for related threads, posts, etc. and found nothing), BUT, the last post was the end of May and it's now almost December....So I have to ask: Did something happen? I forget the dates now, but I did see some posts when I searched that seemed like LilBeaver was having some major bike problems (I may well be wrong on that as I was skimming the posts rather quickly, looking for anything that might cause me to come off like a complete boob for asking what was going on.) Hope all is well and forgive me if my asking was inappropriate because of some circumstances I wasn't aware of.
  7. Haven't been around as much as I used to, but when I saw this.....well, there was no other place to come for guys who would appreciate it. You may have already seen it. If so, excuse me for posting it again. I have no other words for this pic.
  8. prayers up for continued progress!
  9. OH my! I can't begin to comprehend your pain & grief, but my heart aches nonetheless. Celebrate his life and his spirit with the knowledge you alluded to; that when the Lord calls us home or comes to meet us in the clouds, you will certainly see him again. My earnest prayers, I offer up freely on your behalf and your family's..May God bless you all with peace & comfort beyond understanding during this trial.
  10. The Discovery Channel show "Hell Roads" had as one of the stories a couple of weeks ago, a piece of the Tail of the Dragon". I haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but my son did on a sport bike. He said you absolutely have to be on your "A" game and know with certainty both your & your bikes limitations. Still, I'd like to make the run all the same...preferably on an off day for tourists! (my concentration needs all the help it can get-LOL!)
  11. I'd have to pass on the 20+ year old SPAM.........Now, if that'd been 20 year old Twinkies, it would be a whole different discussion! I don't think they CAN go bad.... lol
  12. Wouldn't that be more correct to say "micro-muffin"? lol Either way, Congrats to the muffins....
  13. Check my post/thread 64070 from 9/26/2011 titled "Battery tender" for additional info.
