The time to replace the tires on my bike is drawing near. I have decided to use avons. I have installed the leveling links on my bike. Should I use the 130/80/16 front or use the 150/80/16? The bike handles great now with the links. Would the bike handle any better with the 130 installed. Any advise would be appreciated. Dan

Welcome! I bought a 07 in July, paid 16,300. I think you are getting a good deal. The bike is a little top heavy at first. It will take a little getting used to. I would recommend taking your time and learn the bike. I installed the Diamond R leveling links and the sterring is great. I also re-jetted the carbs, installed a set of roadhouse exhaust and modified the air boxes. These simple mods have increase the torqe and horse power. This is a great traditional bike, has the best warranty and rides like a dream. I don,t think you can go wrong for the price. Ride safe and enjoy the bike. Dan Stevenson

2nd gens rear brakes
DAN STEVENSON replied to Cutty's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Contact Rick Butler and he will explain his mod for the rear brakes. He just did mine and the mod seems to work well. -
I purchased my clearview in August and took a 5000 mile trip. I could not be happier. The shield performed well. I have the 19 inch with the curve and the vent. I think the clearview is much easier to see through during a rain storm, and the vent helps keep you cool. I kept the stock shield just in case I did not like the clearview. If someone needs a stock shield let me know.

I have been using Amsoil for many years in a lot of different bikes. I have never had a problem. I would not run the bike as long before changing as Amsoil suggest. I change at 5000 no longer than 60000. I ride a lot of miles stop and go and free way. My experience is the bikes I have owned have always been quieter when I used Amsoil.

Crash bar supports
DAN STEVENSON replied to Carbon_One's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
This is one of the first mods I did. The supports do keep the bars from flexing. Great mod I highly reccommend doing it. Very simple to do. -
Heads Up-Homemade Motorcycle Lift Table
DAN STEVENSON replied to Dragracer's topic in General Tech Talk
I just bought Larry's lift, worth every penny and more. I have had my RSV on the lift for 4 days for cleaning and changing the oil. Great quailty. Larry builds a great product. I don't like to take any chances with my bike. -
Lift adapter sketch???
DAN STEVENSON replied to odysse68's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I just recieved my lift from Larry. I thought about making one from the drawing. I did not have the time to build one. I decided to purchase one from Larry. Best decision I could have made. The quailty is great, the price is more than fair, the service is great. Very easy to use. Larry is a great person to do business with. I would highly reccommend Larry and this lift.- 10 replies

Question on leveling links and bike lifts
DAN STEVENSON replied to WIKD's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have the craftsman lift. The way I installed the links was to use the lift on the right side, a scissor jack on the back of the left side frame, and 2 2x6 pieces of wood under the kick stand to level the bike. I used a hydraulic jack (small) under the shock to lift it slightly to line the holes up. I would loosen the bolts before getting the bike level. It only took about 30 minutes to complete. The bike was very stable. Call me if you like 214-675-4315. -
Rick, thanks for letting me try out the seat and especially for taking your time to modify it. I will let everyone know the results. The people in this organization are the best. Just good people.

I was traveling on 377 north out of Granberry Texas today 6/23/07. A nice gentlemen pulled up beside me on a 99 venture and he spoke to me. I had ear plugs in , but I acknowledge, the light turned green, we rode of and got on 20 east and kind of rode together a while. I was late for an appointment and could not stop. If you see this post, let me know. Very nice bike you were riding.
