Went to start my 07 RSV and only got a click. Did some checking and verified the battery was weak. I bought a new one from O'Reillys and I have to wonder about that store. I was told over the phone it would cost $155.99. When I got there a different guy waited on me. He charged me 125.99 and I had taken a look at the rack that had a price of 115.99. So, after a little delay, he claimed he charged me for the core even though it was sitting beside the new one. Maybe it was all a misunderstanding but I have to wonder. After installing it, the bike fired right up. The old battery had a date of 8/18 on it. So, it didn't last all that long. I kept a battery tender on it. Is it better to keep a battery tender on it or not? Thanks

I was using the weed whacker to edge my walkway and driveway and evidently disturbed some fire ants. Those little suckers attacked my right foot. I was wearing sandals which wasn't the smartest thing. All of a sudden the top of my foot was burning like crazy. I thought it was sunburn at first and then saw the little critters. I went inside and put some hydrocortisone cream on my foot and some shoes! Those little critters are fearless when you mess with them. Ha!

I've bought from them several times in the past. Always got good service. Sad to hear.

Flushing the tank may not be possible? or is it? When I flushed my Kawa tank, I used a paper shop towel to filter the gasoline and reused it. Vacuuming inside the tank is probably not possible? Just wagging here.

Do a search in the tech talk forum and there are discussions of an aftermarket tci that might be available. -

Unscrew the spark plug caps from the wires and look at the copper core in the wires. The seal between the cap and wire is not waterproof and the copper core tends to corrode. If corroded, you can usually snip off a half inch or more of wire to get to clean copper. You may want to check the caps resistance. Factory caps are 9 to 10k ohms. Aftermarket NGK caps are 5k ohms. A weak spark will require a richer mixture I think. By the way, the starters on these bikes are weak. It was about 91 before Yamaha went from a 2 brush starter to a 4 brush starter that cured the slow hot start. The later starters will swap out with yours

I bought the motion pro manometer type and I was disappointed. They had bubbles. I called the manufacturer and was told I needed to buy a refill kit. I sold them cheap and bought a gauge set that I am happy with. Just to make sure, I connected all four tubes and pulled a vacuum with my hand held mity vac and all the gauges read the same.
