Be a little more specific about what is broken and some of the members may have a replacement part for you. Check the classified section for parts bikes that members have.

Yep, growing up in Windsor, NC was like growing up in Mayberry. High school was a lot like the movie "American Graffiti". My high school graduating class of 1962 had 32 students. Surprisingly enough, many of them became quite successful with more than you would expect graduating from college. The good ole days! Yeah, right!

So the new Harleys burn oil and have to be modified for decent power? -
It takes two dangerous drivers to have a chase. When the LEO does not know anything other than the guy was speeding, I don't think it's worth the risk to others to give chase and wrecking the biker with almost assured serious injury or death to the biker is wrong. If someone runs from the police on foot, is it ok if he shoots and kills the guy? After all, he may be running because he committed a serious crime? Confession time. During my misspent youth while driving a car, I ran and hid several times to avoid a ticket, so I suppose I could have been killed by an LEO who caught me. But, they never got close enough. I would have stopped if they did. And I never ran in heavy traffic or in a manner that was dangerous to anyone but myself.

Strangely enough, I learned how a rear differential worked at age 15 in my driver's education class. The (football, basketball, & baseball) coach of our small high school taught driver's ed in the summer. How the rear diff worked was one of the subjects covered in the class. The coach didn't know how it worked and I figured it out from the pictures and explained it to the class. The coach also taught physics! I had to explain a few physics problem solutions to him and the class also. The coach wasn't a technical sort of guy but he was a great football coach. Our small single A team was the eastern NC champs the last two years of that schools existence before they consolidated the whole county into one larger school.

Well, sorry to hear you sold your bike, but there are always plenty for sale out there. The riding season might be shorter in MN.

100,000 mile review 2018 TC

I suppose it cost too much to upgrade the Gen 2 getting rid of the clutch whine and switching over to fuel injection and that is why you can buy a used 2nd Gen for less than half of what you would have to pay for a Goldwing of the same year. -
Well, if killing the guy was justifiable, then what other minor offenses are worthy of killing the perpetrator? Sounds like Saudi Arabia.

A while back a local city police officer was chasing a speeder, over drove his driving skills, and wrecked killing himself. The runner was charged with murder, a ridiculous charge in my opinion. Chasing a speeder at stupid speeds on city streets should not be allowed. It just isn't worth the risk to everybody else. If the guy speeds, he will be caught sooner than later.

The main thing I would be concerned with is the load rating. If the load rating is the same, it should work I would think. There might be some traction loss. -
Yeah, ram a motorcycle with your police car for what, speeding. Why not just pull up beside him and shoot him. Same result.

Impressive performance! Oil changes every 10 to 12k miles! -
Well, it's been 2 weeks and 1 day since the gall bladder removal. I had pain from the 4 holes punched in my abdomen for about 3 days and generally didn't feel well for a few more days. I've never had any acid reflux issues. My stools were soft for a week or so and now look normal. I had no appetite for a couple of weeks and lost about 15 lbs. which is a good thing. Now, I'm feeling normal and probably better than normal due to the weight loss. My appetite is back but I'm still eating less. I'm not supposed to eat greasy/high fat foods for a while at least. I set a goal in mid October to lose 50 lbs and with the gall bladder help, I'm now down about 32 lbs total which has helped reduce my arthritis. Not supposed to lift anything heavy for a month and I'm anxious to get back on my exercise routine. It's okay to walk as much as I want so I'm walking farther and faster than before around the subdivision. Hard to wait a month before riding my bikes again! I'm counting the days!

I'll just use my AR15 with 30 round magazine or 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun with slugs to keep the big stuff away. Wouldn't even want to fire that thing.

Like others said I have a craftsman jack and the adapter with legs that carbon one sells. It doesn't get more solid than that. Thanks to Sylvester for selling me his jack and adapter!

Nah, the Gen 2s can't keep up with the Gen1s because Yamaha made them look like a Harley. So, they are just following tradition!

How long have you had the bike? These bikes are notorious for the clutch basket whine. The gear teeth on the clutch basket are not precisely cut enough to keep them from making noise. Almost all of the RSVs have the annoying clutch whine/chirp. It's not a problem, just annoying.

Yeah, I've been doing entirely too little drinkng!

My swollen, infected, stones filled, bile duct plugged Gall Bladder was removed today. Seemed to go ok and now I have to recover from 4 holes in the abdomen. As well as adjust to a low fat diet, for a while at least. Falling apart in my old age! Just before the surgery, I asked the Dr. how long would it be before I could do a situp. His response was, "Can you do a situp now?". that Turkey! I said, Yeah, I can do 30, in a row! I should have asked him how many he could do but I wasn't that quick.

Yeah, straddling a tank of gasoline and then igniting it is a thrill!

I did the free upgrade a few days ago and I don't have any problems with 10 other than I no longer have the game Minesweeper. Man, I was good at that game. My record was 99 seconds to discover 90 bombs!

And don't bother with a GP. Go to a Specialist, a Neuro surgeon.

When the weather warms up a bit and you get the fever, maybe a new BMW K1600? That'll give you a thrill when you crack the throttle!

Congratulations to you Freebird for the sale and also to Mike for the purchase. This year, I will be reducing my bike stable to one bike. I haven't decided which one it will be yet. Usually when I go for a short errand ride, I hop on the Kawasaki because it's so much easier to get out of the garage an go. And at 500 lbs and 74 hp, it's about as fast as the Ventures but the narrow seat gets uncomfortable after 30 minutes or so. As much as the smaller V-twin cruisers don't appeal to me visually or engine wise, they may be the best for us older folks because of the comfort and lighter weight. I'm sure my wife will be happy to see two of them disappear from the garage!
