  1. Yeah, it's your lucky day! Be sure you contact them and give them all of your bank account information so they can make the money transfer! NOT!
  2. I'm curious as to what brand these failing tires were and where were they manufactured? Back around late 80's, I bought a used 25' travel trailer. All 4 tires on it were cracked from sitting in the sun. A week after I bought it, I towed it 600miles to Disney World on the interstate at 65mph. I was expecting tire issues but did not have any. In fact, I've never had a tire failure due to age. Knock on Wood!!!!!
  3. Seems the bike manual only states use coolant compatible with aluminum. It doesn't say anything about using the green stuff or the 5 year coolant?
  4. This is our boat. It's a 98 18' Boston Whaler Ventura with a 99 Yamaha 2 stroke motor and we bought it in 2007.
  5. Did you make sure the tires were up to pressure? Stupid question I know. Sorry. I have a 4' x 8' utility trailer I bought from Lowes in Manitowoc, WI to haul my ZN700 Kawa home to NC. The small tires on it are supposed to be inflated to 90 psig. When I was working in Homestead FL, I hauled the my 04 Kawa concours 15 miles down the turnpike to get some new tires installed. One trailer tire was only inflated to 30 psig but it sat up fine even with the 660lb bike in it. The trailer was rated for a max of 1600 lbs. So, I thought it would be okay. NOT! On the way back to Homestead, the right rear tire shredded. I didn't even know it until I slowed down to take my exit at Homestead. So, I continued to drive it back to my Townhouse. I was working 12 hr night shifts and I didn't have much time to get this done during the day when I should have been sleeping. Anyway, I ordered a new tire/wheel combo from etrailer because the rim was a goner too and the local stores didn't have a replacement tire/wheel combo. I learned to make sure the tires are up to pressure before towing!!!
  6. The carbs might have to be cleaned. You could try the shotgun method first. Also, replace the fuel filter. https://vmax.lvlhead.com/tips/shotgun.htm
  7. Would you tell us a little more about exactly what it's doing? Does it idle ok? Does it cut out when throttle is applied? I would put a bottle of seafoam or gumout with PEA in the gas to begin with. If it's cutting out when revving, a carb diaphragm might be ruptured? Fuel pump points failing seems to be a Gen 2 issue. Just wagging here. Fuel tank vent?
  8. I've always thought I would have to have a BMW if I test drove one. But, I'm too cheap to put up with the very high maintenance costs and from what I've read, they are costly. Same reason I don't have a BMW motorcycle. If you google their reviews, it will scare you away. ABS problems are likely as well as numerous other ailments and are an arm and leg to repair. Back in 98, my 86SS Monte Carlo needed its 3rd engine replacement and it was bashed in from a Nebraska deer charging into the side so I test drove a 95 Lincoln Mark VIII and I had to have it. The performance, handling, comfort, and everything was just first class. DOHC V8 engine, rear drive with independent rear suspension was wonderful. Drove it 8 yrs and loved every minute. If Ford built that same car today with a 5L V8, I'd buy one. Traded it for a Dodge Magnum with the Hemi V8, rear drive, and independent rear suspension. Still loving it too. It's not as beautiful as the Mark but it's more powerful and has been more reliable. So yeah, I'm sure if I drove a BMW, I'd have to have one.
  9. I think what he meant was that he connected the jumper cables to the wrong polarity which will usually burn up something. Some troubleshooting will be necessary to figure out what fried.
  10. No dilly dallying in traffic or the engine will overheat since it doesn't have water cooling or a fan like most other air cooled engine powered cars. I'm sure I'm too old to fit in that sucker!
  11. It's all good. A member was waiting for you to decide. So, it's sold.
  12. Try this https://www.gsigroupv.xyz/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=757482
  13. Skid, I have a new Shinko 777 150/80x16 front tire that I haven't installed. If you want it I'll sell it for $80 shipped. I just checked ebay and they are $97.88 plus tax from Chapparral. I decided to try a 130.
  14. Well, in that case, I've never dropped a motorcycle in my life!!!
  15. Are there any laws prohibiting gas cans hanging on the side or exterior of a motorcycle?
  16. Sorry you are having trouble with the truck sales people. But I suppose we have to assume that everything that car salesmen say is a lie unless there is reasonable proof.
  17. With a radial car tire on the rear, you've already disregarded all manufacturers recommendations. So run whatever you want! I'm thinking I will install a 130/90 tire on the front of my RSV to hopefully get rid of or reduce the heavy low speed steering. I think the reason Yammy used a 150 was to make it look more like a Harley or maybe it is less tippy with a 150 on the front?
  18. When I owned the 2004 Kawasaki Concours, I joined two message boards just for those bikes. One of them had a section for dropping the bike. The Concours C10 is notoriously top heavy and very easy to drop. Looks like we may need a special place to discuss ours too. After all, we can learn from hearing about others dropping their bikes. We can learn to be more careful if nothing else. My bike drop was due to carelessness! Plan to stop and look, at all stop signs in the future unless I'm in the desert and can see for miles in every direction!
  19. As everyone knows, Hyundai owns Kia. The only thing that saved Hyundai in the beginning was their 100,000 mile warranty because those cars had lots of problems in the beginning. But, from what I'm hearing, they are as good as anyone's cars now? A neighbor friend has well over 200k miles on his Hyundai.
  20. So sorry this happened to you Don and I'm happy you appear to be recovering fully. Thank You for sharing this with us. It's a good lesson for all of us. I haven't been putting safety glasses over my regular glasses when I edge the lawn with my weedwhacker. I will in the future! Thanks again for the lesson!
  21. I understood voltage and amperage by equating it to a water system. Voltage is analagous to the water pressure and amperage is analagous to the water flow rate. With no demand you have full voltage in an electrical system and full pressure in a water supply system. When you start using the electricity, the amps go up and the voltage goes down comparable to a water system when the water is being used, the pressure goes down as the flow rate goes up. Helped me understand.
  22. One issue with us old coots is that the legs are not what they used to be. I do squats to keep some semblance of strength in my legs but it's a losing effort that I'm not ready to give up on.
  23. Reminds me of Sturgis, except for lack of scantily clad young ladies walking around!
  24. How does it work other than just pump water through the vest? How does it cool? The water will get hot after a while if there is nothing to cool it.
  25. Yeah, it hits me some time that Bongo and Yammer Dan are no longer with us. I never had the pleasure of meeting them in person but felt like I knew them from the forum. Rest in Peace Friends!
