  1. It may not be illegal but if one of those tires blows out and causes an accident that hurts someone, it makes you more liable and you will be sued. You won't be able to blame Firestone for that one. And speaking as someone who has been sued due to my son's car accident and feared that I would lose my home and everything else I owned for about a year before the case was finally settled you don't want to go through that. My insurance co. mishandled the case so badly that they ended up paying 2 1/2 times my coverage to settle the case. I hired my own separate attorney and he was prepared to sue the insurance company if they didn't pay the settlement due to their mishandling. They ended up even paying for my private attorney. I was lucky to get out of that one unscathed financially.
  2. Those P205s are 3 sizes smaller that the P235s it requires. The load ratings will be 3 sizes smaller too. I wouldn't do it. It's not worth the risk.
  3. The Kawasaki that I bought, a Walmart brand AGM which was made by Yuasa came with the acid separate. I had to add it just like the other bike batteries. So if that is not the case with yours, just keep it on a battery tender I suppose.
  4. I'm glad you were able to stop safely. I suppose it's a big no no to touch either brake pedal in a situation like that. Tell us how you were able to stop without dumping it.
  5. One my 3 yr. 8 month job in FL, I was working 6 12s for 14 months towards the end and I quit exercising and walking. I started to get an irregular heart beat especially at the end of the day when I was tired. After that job ended and I came home I started exercising, got my walking routine back up to a 50 minute as fast as I could maintain walk 3 times a week, and lost about 25 lbs. No more irregular heart beat after that. It's amazing what exercise can do for you. The 50 minute rapid walks also reduces my cholesterol levels substantially. I'm 70 now and if I don't exercise, I will turn into a vegetable pdq.
  6. So many times, members post such good information that I would like to thank them! I also like the "Like" feature. Very good additions to the forum!
  7. Congratulations on finishing the iron butt! Sorry about Lee. I hope he doesn't have any permanent injuries.
  8. You should read the comments posted under the video. The cop was suspended for 30 days without pay and the kid filed a lawsuit against the cop and the dept. The video only helped the cop get suspended. In my opinion the cop should have been fired. We don't need people like this enforcing the law which he clearly wasn't doing.

As always, we really appreciate the photos, Puc!!
  10. Depends on which way to choose to use from Phoenix, the way we went. coming in from the east on 260 it is a straight road. 89A from the SW is crooked.
  11. Some parts of the country are full of thieves, southern FL for instance.

    Jerome AZ

I drove to Jerome from Phoenix in a rental car on my way to Monument Valley in Utah last May. Had some barbecue. Definitely a great place to see on a tour.
  13. That was fun to watch. I wonder how many times he crashed during the course of making this video!
  14. Thank you for the interesting article!
  15. Cowpuc, please keep us updated on your healing progress. Your Venture Rider family cares about you!
  16. We should call you Kid instead of Skid! You're the young pup!
  17. Must have been that frying pan to the back of your head when your wife tried to get you to slow down during the summer trip! Or maybe it was thermal shock from eating too much ice cream too fast! I seem to remember that George Clooney had that problem a few years ago and look at him now. I'm sure you will get well fast! Best Wishes for a speedy recovery!
  18. Well after all the worry on my part about rain, it didn't rain a drop on me going or coming. It was great meeting some of the forum members and we also need a photo of Skid. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e369/RR322/IMG_0358_zps2a125da2.jpg?1415758601814&1415758602137
  19. The cloud coming in from the ocean isn't that large right now. I'll wait and see what it looks like in the morning. It may be a no never mind. The forecast has the rain ending in Wilmington around 9:00am or 10:00am. So, it just might work out great!!
  20. Hey Guys, The weather is turning ugly for tomorrow. Cloudy with a 40% chance of rain. Wednesday is supposed to be 73 degrees and sunny. Let's put it off until Wednesday! This is the address of the Shell gas station, the Scotchman. 1610 US Highway 421 N. Wilmington NC
  21. Earl, There is a Scotchman Shell gas station located on highway 421 about 2 1/2 miles south from the end of the outer Wilmington bypass that you will be coming in on. It's located at the exit of the inner Wilmington bypass to 421. I will wait for you there. I'll park my 89VR where you can see it if I can. Hopefully you can meet me there by 10:30 am. I'll probably ride ahead if I don't see you by 10:30. I grew up about 45 miles north of Greenville and I travel through Greenville to visit my relatives. When I come through Kinston and use highway 11/903 to go through Pink Hill and Kenansville to get to I40, I save 30 minutes of driving time, maybe because I can drive fast for about 50 miles on I40. Then you turn at exit 416 that is the outer bypass around Wilmington. That is how much time it saves me versus going using 17 all the way to Windsor. But when I'm driving it I usually go close to 80mph in the 70 zone on I40. Anyway, I'll be waiting for you tomorrow. See you around 10:30am. Bill
  22. Probably at a spot on #421 after you get to the end of the bypass around Wilmington and take a left on 421. I'll scope out a good spot to wait tomorrow and let you know since I have to go that way to the county dump.
  23. No earlier than 10:00. Could be later since I think it is just over an hour's ride to the restaurant. Are you coming from Greenville? If you would like to meet and ride the rest of the way together that would be great! Would you be coming down 17 through New Bern and Jacksonville or I40 through Kinston? It's faster through Kinston but you have about 50 miles of I40 to ride.
  24. That's what Skid said in an earlier post. "near North Myrtle" Address: 712 48th Ave, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582 Phone:(843) 272-6834 According to what I looked up
  25. Noon it is. I'll be there. Looking forward to meeting you!
