If you would like to meet and ride the rest of the way together that would be great! Would you be coming down 17 through New Bern and Jacksonville or I40 through Kinston? It's faster through Kinston but you have about 50 miles of I40 to ride.

Well I pumped up the tires, charged the battery, and took the VR out for about a 10 mile ride. It ran great. I love the sound of that V4 winding up! So, I hope it will make it to MB and back Tuesday.

My last contract job ended last week, so I'm retired again. My new to me 89 Venture is still like I bought it due to the job out of state distracting me which means it is still running rich it seems and the engine barely turns over when it is warm since I haven't installed the 96 starter. However, I am a new member and I would like to start meeting some of the forum members. So, I'd like to ride the suspect VR down to Myrtle and meet you for lunch one day next week if that is okay. Maybe Tuesday since it looks to be a little warmer than the rest of the week. The wife will be working so she can't come.

I love riding my little 85 Kawasaki ZN700. It weighs 500 lbs and has 74hp, a 4 cylinder with shaft drive. It's easy to handle, has plenty of power and is a blast to ride around town. It would be a pita to ride all day though.

I bought a new tall windshield from Cee Bailey for my 2004 Kawa Concours. It came in a box wrapped in thin foam plastic. Somebody in NY wanted my old one. I checked with UPS and the shipping cost from Homestead FL to NY was $50. He wasn't willing to pay $20 plus shipping.

An individual can't really depend on the police protecting them. They can investigate the crime afterwards. I never felt the need to carry a weapon until I worked in Homestead FL for over 3 1/2 yrs. There is so much crime in southern FL that most people live in gated, fenced in, guarded communities. If you live outside your home will be burglarized on a regular basis. FL makes it easy to get a cc permit especially if you are a veteran. You don't have to take a training class. I got mine in less than 2 weeks. Where I live in NC I feel safe. There is an occasional burglary. The last one was a neighbor kid on drugs who tried to go through a window next door to steal something in order to buy drugs. He is currently in jail.

Did it start popping right after you changed the air filters to the UNI design? When someone posts on the Kawasaki forum they changed to the uni air filters, the advice is always to put the stock filter back on.

I have a 2002 F150Supercab 4x4. The spare tire is lowered by inserting the jack handle in a tube and cranking it down. Easy enough. But, on my model and many others the stress on the cable causes it to break eventually. My spare tire fell off my truck and I never knew it. I hope nobody was close behind when it happened because it could have caused a wreck. On later models, there is a spring on the end of the cable that reduces the cable stress. The NHTSA tried to get Ford to recall these trucks and install the new cable system. But NO, Ford was too cheap. The replacement cable mechanism has the spring that supposedly fixed the system. It cost me about $100 for the new cable mechanism, $50 for a used OE replacement rim and $20 for a used tire. Thanks Ford!

There is incompetence everywhere, hospitals and doctors included. We have to be involved with everything that is important to us to make sure it is done correctly. Life is very fragile and the end comes for all of us. We can just hope it is in the distance and is quick when it does arrive.

plugged pilot jets? I'd put some Gumout for high mileage engines in a tank and run all of it through. It's good stuff. Or Chevron Techron. Or Valvoline Complete Fuel System Cleaner if you can find it.

I believe one member HDHT (I think )said he put 240,000 miles on his 91 Venture and never had any carb issues.

Are you getting a spark to the block by holding the plug cap with conductor close to the engine block. I had a dead cylinder when I bought my 85 Kawasaki. it was a completely dead spark plug and the bike only had one thousand miles on it when I bought it. That 25 yr. old NGK expired just sitting, I suppose.

I have fond memories during my youth (a long time ago! Ha!)of trips to DQ for their soft ice cream cones. But now they've added so much sugar that I can't stand it. Seems almost all kinds of prepared foods now are loaded with sugar trying to increase their sales. It's part of the reason so many people are over weight.

That is a weird battery design. Probably had a unique replacement cost too?

I lost my brother when he was age 42. He had Type 1 diabetes and didn't take care of himself. His kidneys failed. A kidney replacement didn't work and he passed due to a heart attack. He was a wonderful person and a wonderful brother, father, and husband. He was 3 years younger than I but I looked up to him. Exercise and keep the weight off for Type II. Minimize carbs, especially sugar. Eat lots of vegetables.

I gave up on DQ. The last couple of times I bought ice cream there it was so sweet I could not eat it. I threw it in the trash! The rare occasions I eat ice cream, I buy Breyers from the grocery store. It isn't sickly sweet.
