I drove to Jerome from Phoenix in a rental car on my way to Monument Valley in Utah last May. Had some barbecue. Definitely a great place to see on a tour.

That was fun to watch. I wonder how many times he crashed during the course of making this video!

Must have been that frying pan to the back of your head when your wife tried to get you to slow down during the summer trip! Or maybe it was thermal shock from eating too much ice cream too fast! The cloud coming in from the ocean isn't that large right now. I'll wait and see what it looks like in the morning. It may be a no never mind. The forecast has the rain ending in Wilmington around 9:00am or 10:00am. So, it just might work out great!!

Earl, There is a Scotchman Shell gas station located on highway 421 about 2 1/2 miles south from the end of the outer Wilmington bypass that you will be coming in on. It's located at the exit of the inner Wilmington bypass to 421. I will wait for you there. I'll park my 89VR where you can see it if I can. Hopefully you can meet me there by 10:30 am. I'll probably ride ahead if I don't see you by 10:30. I grew up about 45 miles north of Greenville and I travel through Greenville to visit my relatives. When I come through Kinston and use highway 11/903 to go through Pink Hill and Kenansville to get to I40, I save 30 minutes of driving time, maybe because I can drive fast for about 50 miles on I40. Then you turn at exit 416 that is the outer bypass around Wilmington. That is how much time it saves me versus going using 17 all the way to Windsor. But when I'm driving it I usually go close to 80mph in the 70 zone on I40. Anyway, I'll be waiting for you tomorrow. See you around 10:30am. Bill

Probably at a spot on #421 after you get to the end of the bypass around Wilmington and take a left on 421. I'll scope out a good spot to wait tomorrow and let you know since I have to go that way to the county dump.

No earlier than 10:00. Could be later since I think it is just over an hour's ride to the restaurant. Are you coming from Greenville? If you would like to meet and ride the rest of the way together that would be great! Would you be coming down 17 through New Bern and Jacksonville or I40 through Kinston? It's faster through Kinston but you have about 50 miles of I40 to ride.

Well I pumped up the tires, charged the battery, and took the VR out for about a 10 mile ride. It ran great. I love the sound of that V4 winding up! So, I hope it will make it to MB and back Tuesday.

My last contract job ended last week, so I'm retired again. My new to me 89 Venture is still like I bought it due to the job out of state distracting me which means it is still running rich it seems and the engine barely turns over when it is warm since I haven't installed the 96 starter. However, I am a new member and I would like to start meeting some of the forum members. So, I'd like to ride the suspect VR down to Myrtle and meet you for lunch one day next week if that is okay. Maybe Tuesday since it looks to be a little warmer than the rest of the week. The wife will be working so she can't come.

If you have time, Jerome is a cool place to see, a historic mining town on the side of a low mountain.

One reason to buy older low mileage bikes for cheap and not insure them. Or at least no collision or comp.

I love riding my little 85 Kawasaki ZN700. It weighs 500 lbs and has 74hp, a 4 cylinder with shaft drive. It's easy to handle, has plenty of power and is a blast to ride around town. It would be a pita to ride all day though.

I bought a new tall windshield from Cee Bailey for my 2004 Kawa Concours. It came in a box wrapped in thin foam plastic. Somebody in NY wanted my old one. I checked with UPS and the shipping cost from Homestead FL to NY was $50. He wasn't willing to pay $20 plus shipping.

An individual can't really depend on the police protecting them. They can investigate the crime afterwards. I never felt the need to carry a weapon until I worked in Homestead FL for over 3 1/2 yrs. There is so much crime in southern FL that most people live in gated, fenced in, guarded communities. If you live outside your home will be burglarized on a regular basis. FL makes it easy to get a cc permit especially if you are a veteran. You don't have to take a training class. I got mine in less than 2 weeks. Where I live in NC I feel safe. There is an occasional burglary. The last one was a neighbor kid on drugs who tried to go through a window next door to steal something in order to buy drugs. He is currently in jail.

Did it start popping right after you changed the air filters to the UNI design? When someone posts on the Kawasaki forum they changed to the uni air filters, the advice is always to put the stock filter back on.
