  1. And the 82 year old ladies driving Lincoln Town cars like the one who t-boned my cage.
  2. Don't cha just love new technology. More and more of my clocks re-set themselves!
  3. Different rear E3s have different load ratings. So make sure you know what you order.
  4. I would just make sure it met the Jaso MA spec. that is the one for bikes with wet clutches.
  5. The reason I ask is that they say it is only about 20% effective this year because they didn't guess right on the strain that would come. I'll probably get the flu tomorrow but it has been over 25 years since I got a flu shot. About 3 weeks afterwards I got the worst bout of the flu I ever had so I don't take it any more and haven't had the flu since. (Knock on wood)
  6. The first time I replaced the fork seals in my Kawasaki, I used OE parts. They didn't last long. Maybe it had something to do with the way I handled them or installed them. Don't know. The second time I used "All Balls Racing" seals bought off ebay. They are advertised as lasting 3 times longer than OE seals in dynamic testing. Anyway, they were tighter fitting and are lasting longer. So, I recommend them.
  7. If the tool you are talking about is the seal driver, when I replaced the seals on my Kawasaki, I carefully measured the diameter and bought a piece of plastic pipe from Home Depot for $3 and cut off a section. Worked perfectly. I haven't had the pleasure of replacing the fork seals on my Venture yet but if they are like the Kawa, I needed an impact wrench to remove the bolt in the bottom that screws into the inner cylinder. Since the cylinder will turn, the quick impact will spin it out. There is a special tool that holds the cylinder. Last time on the Kawa, I used a wooden broom handle to hold it enough to spin the bolt out.
  8. I always respond by email or telephone if that is the case and tell them to come look at it and decide if they like it first. If they want it, we can haggle over the price. If they don't know if they want it, everybody's time is wasted talking price.
  9. I'm curious. Did you get the flu shot?
  10. Yep, I wanted a Corvette really bad back in the mid to late 60's. Never got it and I've been happy without it! It would have hindered my love life to give up that big Impala bench seat in those days!
  11. I'm really sorry you are disappointed. But with the low miles, it should be good for lots of pleasure packed miles. I'm terrified I will drop mine and scratch it up. I should have bought one that had a few scratches on it to begin with.
  12. I assume this is hp and torque measured at the rear wheel?
  13. Wow! That was a great thing to do!
  14. Congratulations on your determination and completing the trip safely!
  15. Yeah, you gotta fall down and get some road rash every now and then:Avatars_Gee_George:
  16. Congratulations! Takes an optimist to try it 3 times I suppose! A good friend who was determined to never get married has had a live-in lady that suits him well who is 17 years older than he is. She is petite and doesn't look her age. They have his/her jetskis, scooters, and snowmobiles. They've been together about 18 years. Who'd a thunk it!
  17. How did they know you bought a Fulmer helmet?

    Life Sucks

My Dad fell in the yard. When the EMTs got there they resuscitated him like they are trained to do. Afterwards, in the hospital he was on a ventilator and the doctors told my family there was almost no brain activity and recommended we take him off the ventilator. My sisters wouldn't hear of it. Later in the nursing home we left instructions to not go to any extraordinary means to keep him alive if he had another heart attack and that is what happened 3 months later after they had to tie his hands down to keep him from pulling out his feeding tube. It had to be a terrible 3 months for him. Today is his birthday.
  19. When I was 18 and just graduated high school, I spent some time that summer at my friends home located close to a drive-in restaurant with delivery to your car door. The juke box had outside speakers and I could hear them play the Ray Charles song, "I can't stop loving you". Somebody kept feeding the juke box and played it over and over again. Stuck with me more than any other song.
  20. It was 73 and sunny here today. I used the ZN700 to run around town on my errands.
  21. If you are my age, maybe you had a senior moment and just thought you filled it up:backinmyday:
  22. The old rule of thumb is that an engine needs 10 psi of oil pressure for every 1,000rpm. So, our bikes probably have a higher oil pressure than most car engines. The oil pump relief setting of 61.3 to 78.1 psi is the pressure of the system when it is revved up to its maximum oil pressure where the relief opens. That relief is the controller for oil pressure at rpm.
