I hired a carpenter type contractor to replace several windows and remove a wall between the living room and the eat-in kitchen area of our home. He noticed my 89 VR and told me he had an 83. Today, he came to look at some work for a neighbor and rode his bike over and showed it to me. It's my favorite color, blond, and only has 37k miles on it. I got excused many times when I was working contract because I would have to fly home from the job and would not get paid when I didn't work. City, State, and Federal workers make up a large percentage of jurors I would suspect because they would still get paid. I was called earlier this year and I was eager to serve but the trial got delayed and all of us went home except for a few who got selected for Grand Jury duty. Now that I am 71 I can get excused because of my age if I want to. But, I don't want to. I think the juries need some level headed retired engineer.

I've been on 2 jurys. One was a murder trial where some dude shot his wife. Claimed it was an accident and those boxes she just brought home for him to pack his stuff in to move out didn't matter. Convicted of Voluntary manslaughter. He was guilty of 2nd degree murder but two coo coo birds (women) didn't want to convict him. One who was a school teacher wanted to find him not guilty. Another just couldn't believe he could kill his wife with malice! He was handsome. We compromised on Voluntary manslaughter. The judge gave him the maximum sentence for voluntary manslaughter. The 2nd was a divorce case. It was embarassing to listen to all the garbage and especially how lousy their sex was. I was glad when that one was over.

Well Eck, make sure you report that $10 wage on your 2015 tax return. Since you signed the check you received the income and giving it away is not a deduction!

Strap some more seat pads to the bike until she gets high enough.

There is a diaphragm in the enrichment valve. The carb cleaner could have ruined it. I think you can remove them without removing the carbs from the engine.

Check the voltage when revved up a little. Lots of motorcycle alternators don't produce enough voltage to power everything at idle. If the voltage when revved up is at 13.5 to 14.5 volts it should be okay.

Some people just have too much time and money. What a monstrosity!

Maybe spray some penetrating oil down the key hole, Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster, etc. WD40 is NOT a penetrating oil.

I bought my ZN700 when I was working in Wisconsin and trailered it home to NC. Later, I got a job in Homestead, FL and trailered it to FL. So, for a while it still had WI plates on it. I was just waiting for someone to ask if I rode it from WI to FL and I was going to tell them I rode it down:rotf: But, alas, no one ever asked.

I bought my VR from a craigslist ad. The owner is a nice guy who has his own boat service business and is an avid biker when he has time. I have seen many scams on craigs though. People who advertise something that looks really nice for half what it is worth. Of course they don't have it and it is always located a thousand or so miles away. Just send the money and they will have it shipped to you. One lady when I told her I wanted to see the truck advertised locally but was located in FL that I was going to Fl and i wanted to stop and see it said the truck was already "boxed up ready to ship and I couldn't see it".

There are a multitude of bp drugs out there. Don't give up. High bp kills. Strokes, Heart Attacks, organ failure, I've noticed that going for my 50 minute rapid walk in the morning will drop my bp by 10 or more points. A sedentary life style makes bp higher.

I loved the Chevys back in the day. I had a 56 Convertible, 59 Impala with manual overdrive, new 65 Chevelle 4 speed 300hp 327, posi, 69SS396 Chevelle. But, later in life it seems all the GM products I bought gave me too much grief. The Ford vehicles didn't. So now I have a phobia about GM vehicles.

See if you can use his business rate to ship the shield. It will cost a bunch of money for an individual to ship it via UPS or Fedex.

Teflon is inert and won't react with anything. It is good for up to 500 degrees F. The only applications it isn't allowed that I know of is at nuclear power plants. Gamma radiation will break it down and cause leaks.

I have the tool kit screwdrivers for both of my bikes. This screw was already boogered up. I managed to drill it almost completely out when somehow I managed to break off the tip of the drill bit. So now I'm screwed. For the time being one screw will have to be good enough and it seems to be.

Great White, You really ought to try Hawthorne supplements. The one I'm taking is the Natures Way brand. The recommended dose is 3 capsules 3 times a day with meals. I've been taking it for about a week now and it has made a dramatic difference in my blood pressure. I was taking a double dose of Losartan and it wasn't controlling my bp. Now with the Hawthorne supplement I'm taking the Losartan in the recommended dose. I'm sleeping better too. And, my arthritis is less than it has been in years since I've completely quit taking the Triam/HCTZ. My 2 cents
