  1. You can access a manual in the first gen tech section.
  2. Better to prepare for retirement and die early than not prepare and live in poverty in old age. My Dad having lived through the depression was too thrifty. He never made much money but he always saved. Our family life could have been more enjoyable if he hadn't been so obsessed with saving money. He passed at age 79. My Mother at 93. Then my sisters got mad at each other because one thought the other got too much of the money left, the one who took care of our Mother and her bank account. I declined to take any because I had not been around to help take care of my Mother. Seems a squabble between siblings is unavoidable when the estate is divided. I suppose that's a good reason to spend it all before you go!!!
  3. If you google this you will find that lots of people have had the same problem.
  4. Being responsible and enjoying life is always a balance of responsibilities and desires. Everybody has their own demarcation between the two. We work to get paid not because it's fun to work but because we need the money to be responsible. The more dependents we have the more responsible we should be. There is an old saying that goes something like, "Everything you bring into your home owns a part of you and if you are not careful, there won't be anything left of you for you". We should remind ourselves of this occasionally and make sure we have some of ourselves left.
  5. I wonder if something got hacked?
  6. I've seen boroscopes in Sams Club recently. I'm sure you can buy them anywhere and with one of those tools to pick it up you can retrieve the offending tube.
  7. I agree with your last statement Dan! They said all of your files will be exactly where you left them when you upgrade to win 10. Lie! Lie! Mine were nowhere to be found and the instructions on how to find them could not be followed. I don't need all of the features of 10 anyway.
  8. Thanks for the good words! Stuart wasn't the best student in high school. In fact he dropped out and was a rebellious but decent kid. He started working as a busboy at a restaurant and then became a cook. Several years passed working as a cook and pizza delivery driver. Then he bought two turntables and taught himself to scratch records and he also bought a device that recorded different tracks. He had found his passion. He was 22 when he approached me about supporting him while he went to Full Sail school in Orlando. They had a 12 month program teaching kids how to record music among other things. The T&F were $25k for the 12 months. Since he had not been a good student, I wasn't sure he would apply himself but I agreed to support him, about $50k by the time he started getting paid. His grades tied for second in his class. After graduating he went to work as an un-paid intern at the Quad studio in Manhattan. But he worked very hard and started getting paid as an assistant engineer in about 3 months. He was fortunate in many ways. His high school buddy had moved back to NYC and had a room available in his apt. He learned how to record digitally at school and the industry was switching from tape to digital. He was able to show the older engineers how to use the new system. It's a very tough business. If you don't give it your all, you won't survive. He says he is the only kid in his class who is still working as a recording engineer. The hours are horrible. He typically works from afternoon until well into the night or all night through the weekends and holidays many times. He spent much of his off time reading everything he could find about recording techniques and equipment. He rents the little room in Manhattan he converted into a studio and it was necessary to hone his skills. Plus it often times enables him to work in his studio instead of renting a place in a commercial studio for megabucks. Saves the client some money and helps pay for his equipment. Probably $70k in equipment and software, $30k in software alone. Since he became Beyonces's engineer, he has spent a couple months in Paris, months in FL, and many months in LA where she spends the winter. He has been invited to the Grammys twice for his work but no winners yet. The first time was for the number 1 song, "We Are Young" by FUN. The second time was for work with Beyonce.
  9. If you want to buy a reprinted manual, try YamahaPubs.com
  10. You've got 30 days to go back. If you are under 30 days, just do a search for instructions.
  11. My son Stuart White is a music recording engineer who has recorded Beyonces's last two albums. The attached video is his skype interview with the Pensado's Place show. I know nothing of the show or the business but it may interest someone who does. His interview starts at about 17 minutes of the show.
  12. My son uses a Mac laptop. He is rough on it, carrying it in his backpack wherever he goes and uses it a lot for his business which is recording music. Anyhow, he keeps the warranty on it because it needs repair often. Macs are the only ones used in his business. Harley doesn't fit the description "last longer" ???? Air cooling doesn't give it a chance to last as long as a water cooled engine.
  13. I made the mistake of downloading Windows 10 night before last when I went to bed. When I signed in the next day all my files were gone. I finally found instructions about how to find them but the instructions were inaccurate. So, I went back to Win 7. I was so relieved to see all of my files returned to me!!! I may have to buy a Mac next time!
  14. I know Arthr itis too well for me to do anything like that.
  15. You'd never hit him with a hand gun!
  16. Woody, don't you need some fresh air ventilation in a trailer like that?
  17. Cruise control was never an option on the Honda ST1100 or 1300. Many install throttlemeisters.
  18. I've seen a few fox squirrels in my hunting days as a kid. Even killed a couple of them while hunting squirrels. They were really tough to kill. One of the 3 our dog treed jumped from the top of a pine tree to the ground and escaped. I regret killing those two because they are so rare. Wouldn't do it now for sure. Their fur was reddish tinted, how they got the name I suppose. I'm not sure a pellet gun will kill one.
  19. Will a heavy coating of Rain X help? Anybody tried it? https://www.rainx.com/products/glass-water-repellents-cleaners/
  20. I wonder if the room reservation problem had anything to do with your accumulated free nights? Maybe they could make more money renting it to a paying customer?
  21. Sounds like Kresge? the guy who started the Kmart chain. He said he had never spent more than $0.50 for lunch. I grew up very poor and it left its marks on me. Keep plugging on the bike and you'll get it sorted out and you will be really pleased with it.
  22. Lately, I mentioned to my wife that maybe I should sell my two old bikes and buy something newish that has fuel injection and maybe won't require as much attention. She thought that was a great idea. I have a 2002 F150 and a 2005 Dodge Magnum just for me. I mentioned maybe I should sell both and get me a new truck and she was all for it. I think with her encouragement I could spend all of our savings! She wants a new house too!!!!! I think maybe I should just keep me mouth shut and my ideas to myself.
  23. Your software protection program is too tight. I use the free Microsoft Essentials and it spooled it up.
  24. I've done a lot of reading on the ST1300 which is fuel injected. the ST1100 is carbed. According to what I've read, it handles better at low speed than the other sport tourers and gets better mileage, possibly because it doesn't have quite as much hp as the Concours and FJR in the upper rpm ranges. the only real negative I remember reading is that the 1300 puts a lot of heat on your legs. Some folks also complained about the sound it makes. It sounds like a turbine rather than a motorcycle. There also is a lot of discussion on the internet about a high speed weave with the 1300. Some bikes seem to have it and others don't. But, it doesn't occur until well over 100 mph. But, a cop in Europe supposedly crashed and died due to the high speed instability and the police depts over there got rid of the ST1300s. Some switched to the FJR. I have not ridden one. I'd love to ride one though! Here is a link showing police riding competition with the ST1300.
  25. Looks like the ramp uses the bumper hitch. So no trailer towing with that truck. Would have to tow the truck behind the motorhome like you do.
