  1. As an aging Luddite find myself a bit leery of motorcycle assist technology (anti-lock brakes, traction control, etc). Don't even mind carbs vs fuel injection. Not implying it doesn't allow someone to ride / stop faster when it works. Guess it's the "old dog new tricks/ KISS principle".
  2. Used to be a gent on the Valkyrie Riders webpage that had one hooked up with a NOS system. Not sure if it's the same company. He seemed to enjoy it. No idea how or if it affected lonjevity.
  3. Sorry, Luddite here. If you Google grasserhopperltd.com pics are available.
  4. My tickets for the Bahaman cruise arrived.
  5. Looking for some lower-back support without breaking the bank. Purchased a backrest from "Grasshopper" on 7/3/14. It arrived on my doorstep 4dys later. Install took a bit of determination but was fairly simple. At 6'1" with an OEM saddle backrest provides support right where it's needed(lower middle-back). Product is easily removed, mounting bracket stays hidden. Backrest is not adjustable, not as flashy as others, but perfectly presentable. IMO constitutes major bang for the $$$. Just my $.02, not affiliated with the company.
  6. Don't know what the scoop is but this was posted last year on St. Louis Craigslist.
  7. Got mine, eagerly awaiting tickets for the Bahaman cruise.
  8. Hear about Full Bore tires in the "Adventure Tourer" market. Frequently compared to Shinko 705's. Generally get favorable write-ups.
  9. Good Luck, hope we won't have to rename you RaggedyTop.
  10. Seger's Makin Thunderbirds. OK, I jumped a decade.
  11. No Stones yet? Paint It Black.
  12. Maybe break out some Dyna Beads or Ride On just to see what happens.
  13. Not since I sobered up.
  14. Time to sort through the basement, know there is an 8-track down there somewhere.
  15. Appreciate the info, on the "things to do list".
  16. Been away from cruisers for awhile. Happy with the RSTD but a little perplexed with the heavy/ slug like steering. Just back from riding the twisties after having some Avon Venoms installed, night and day difference!!! Worked out great on a Valkyrie a few years ago (handled well, no cracking, long wearing). Hoping history repeats itself.
  17. Nice one!! Put me down as another textile guy.
  18. Never assume other drivers see you, don't count on having the right-of-way. Guess it boils down to drive defensively.
  19. Good find, the Magna is a screemer. You will likely be seeing tail lights by the end of the summer.
  20. Grimmy or Gremlin just seems to fit. Congrats on the purchase.
  21. Better lose any aftermarket bags or bug-screens.
  22. Glad the rest of us never have brain farts. Up in the air between Commander II a Venom. Appreciate some feedback once you get a few miles on it.
  23. How about a tank bag assuming the well endowed blonde doesn't work out.
  24. Was happy with one on a KLR, my current VStrom and an ST1100. Did have one launch at speed with the ST. Wound up drilling and bolting it on. Not the best looking farkle but seem pretty functional to me. Just my$.02.
  25. Count me in. Throw in the gyrocopter and flying motorcycle as well. No worries, the check is in the mail.
