Hey, Thanks all! This is exactly the info I was looking for. I will take this all into consideration. I came across a rebuilt venture in the classifieds that looks promising except that it's 1100 miles from me - not that that kills it for me though - I bought one bike sight unseen 450 miles from me and that turned out great - it's just a bit more work to get it done (fly in/drive back) - I will keep looking more local for a bit...........thanks again! While on the subject....anybody buy a rebuilt bike? How did that go? I tend to go with my gut on a sale and the bike in the classifieds seems promising at least in this early stage of learning about it.

Hi all! I came here hoping to find out more about a specific bike I am looking at maybe purchasing - any bike I ever owned I have always found these forums to be great info-sharing. The bike I am looking at is a 2000 Tour Deluxe with 32,000 miles - guy is asking 4500. I would like to know if there are any known mechanical problems specific to this model year that I should be aware of. Thanks. I will let you know if I make the purchase.
